Also got the rejection email just now. Pre-II like the rest of everyone. The email said they got like 11,000 apps this year. Good luck to everyone in the rest of this process!

I heard back last week but didn't post--I was put on the waitlist.
 
Had a charming phone call with admissions. They are sending notifications sporadically (as we've just seen) notifying candidates of rejection. If you didn't get one yesterday it means they are re-reviewing and/or haven't made a decision. They are still interviewing and the class is not yet full. They do not know when they will stop interviewing.

She readily admitted that she was answering based off of what the committee told her to say and couldn't elaborate beyond that.

Edit: I wasn't being sarcastic as some have messaged me. The person I spoke with was genuinely charming.

Don't take it personally lol. I have received tons of emails from them like that in the past. Although I must have missed this past email.
 
anyone here complete around mid november or later and alreaady received a pre interview rejection??
 
For anyone who has been accepted already, Temple suggests we fill out our FAFSA before March 1st for priority consideration of university funding. Does anyone have any idea what that might mean? Because I might not be able to file it before then.

Also general question. My parents are both working and well off, so I don't think I will receive any need-based aid from Temple if I include their info. Hence, I want to just leave it off. This will still leave me eligible for merit-based scholarships correct?

Couple of questions:

1. I was placed on the "continuing candidates" list post-interview in December. They said they probably wouldn't make a decision regarding my application until March-April. Is that just a fancy name for "wait list" or is there a wait list as well?

2. Has anyone here been accepted/rejected off of the continuing candidates list yet?

Yes, it's a wait list. From last years threads does not look very hopeful... 🙁
 
anyone have any interview tips? were your interviews mainly conversational/relaxing, or stressful/unpredictable?
 
^ +1. Interview in a week and a half so I'd like some advice too~
 
I think it really depends on who you get as your interviewers. I felt like I didn't really connect with my interviewers and they didn't really feel very conversational but I spoke with other people on my interview day who had better experiences.

According to their site March 1st is their priority deadline for financial aid awards, but they continue to offer aid even after that deadline. The later you submit it the less funds there will be available I guess. I don't think this impacts loans though, just scholarships/grants.
 
I was accepted back in November but I still don't have my campus assignment. Has anyone gotten their assignment/additional information about financial aid and other stuff besides second look?
 
It's pretty interesting that no one has mentioned any acceptances from Temple since 12/23, unless that everyone who has been accepted since then does not use SDN. Hoping for the best, I interviewed here recently and loved it!

I didn't remember getting a campus assignment when I got my acceptance letter. I asked my roommate, who's a second year, and she said that if you didn't get an assignment then Temple Hospital should be your campus.

And as far as financial aid goes, I think they've traditionally started sending out aid packages in March. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, though.
 
Got an interview yesterdayyy! Is it just a traditional interview? And does anyone have suggestions of places to go while I'm in Philly

Congrats and yes. If you're already at Temple, take the Broad-street line to Reading Terminal - my favorite places are DiNic's and Beck's Cajun. Order anything on the menu, can't go wrong.
 
I have been pleasantly surprised and have been accepted to my state program. Temple was a close second but for $ reasons, I will give up my St Luke's seat. It's a great program and I hope somebody deserving gets it. Good luck all.
 
I can't figure out where/how to withdraw - nothing on the portal. Do you all just email them? I'll do it tonight if someone can confirm this.

I withdrew from other schools by sending an email to their admissions office. I said something along the lines of "My name is ______ and my AMCAS ID is ________. I would like to formally withdraw my acceptance for the Class of 2019. Thank you for your consideration."

Keep in mind that you may be applying for residencies at Temple in the future.
 
Also, is the interview completely open file? (ie EC, secondary + personal statement, and grades/mcat score)

The faculty interviewer had access to everything, amcas, secondary, GPA, and MCAT. If I remember correctly, my student interviewer didn't know anything about me but my name. It's very conversational. Definitely not a stress interview.
