2014-2015 Temple University Application Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Congrats to those accepted off the CCL! Would you guys be willing to share around what time of the day did you receive the acceptance email? I'm wondering if they send them out at a set time.

Also ~17:00.

Is there an accepted students FB group?

Anyone know how to add SSN to the TUPortal?

once you sign in to the TUportal, there should be a "to do" checklist. One of the 'to do' items is to input your SSN. Click on that 'to do' item and it should direct you to where you an enter your ssn. At least, that's what I did.

Thanks for the info, but I'm stuck in a nightmarish gridlock with creating an account at Temple.. Someone didn't add me to the system or whatnot and now I can get a whole lot of NOTHING done. -.-

BLEEEEEHHHHH

Oh that happened to me earlier! I was trying to do all the stuff that TempleMedOnline was saying to do, but my TUID didn't show up as registered until I actually got a personal email from temple uni computer services telling me to set up a AccessNet account. If you've already gotten that email and it still doesn't work.....i dunno?

I set up my temple account a while ago but my temple email is my TU ID which is just letters and numbers. Is that how it is for anyone else? I want my email address to be my name

I didn't even get that email yet. I'm just pestering everyone in the school right now. I wonder if they have a picture of me glued to a dart board in their offices...

On the CCL, but went to Temple for undergrad, so I know how the email handles work. They automatically make your email your TU ID, but you can go into the directory through the TUportal and create an alias handle that is just your name. Then you can tell people your email is [email protected]. Whichever email they use, it will all go to the same inbox.

Ok awesome thank you!

mine's awkwardly my entire name, as in: First.middle.last@temple, but since all of my names are on the longer side, my email address is really quite long.

Mine is my entire name too. That's ok with me though because I actually go by my middle name instead of my first name.

So I just submitted my deposit after getting off the waitlist. (YAY) Does anyone know when they confirm that you are matriculating? Today was the deadline so I am a little nervous and do not want to decline the other school I sent a deposit to until it is confirmed that I my deposit was accepted. Suggestion? Thanks in advance!

I got a tuition deposit acknowledgement email the same day. I submitted at 1200 and got the acknowledgement at 1700.

My status online changed to "deposit paid." I'm trying to remember, but i think it may have changed to "accepted" when I got the email? And "deposit paid" the Monday after I paid (I paid on a Friday around 3pm PST)

Okay so it take some time. Thank you! I have breath easy

Anyone get info about their financial aid award besides that one email last month? :\ Still don't see anything under the "Accept Award Offer" tab...

Perhaps we'll get some waitlist movement next week. Does anyone know if the admissions committee only meets on a certain day, like Friday?

At what point are you guys going to start reapplying? It doesn't seem very likely that we will get in off the CCL this cycle.

I don't think it's a bad idea to get a jump start on the process as early as possible. Don't count on the potential of getting off the CCL just because it could happen.

Ask yourself, are you willing to wait another TWO YEARS (I should think you can kiss your chances goodbye if you submit your primary in August) to reapply just for a shot at *maybe* getting in?

I do think that there will be some more waitlist movement. Somebody posted earlier in this thread that the admissions committee pulls people of the list in batches and then on a case-by-case basis later in the summer. If this is correct, the first batch probably occurred on 4/30. I would assume the admissions committee would take at least a couple weeks to deliberate and see which applicants in that batch will commit to Temple before proceeding to the next batch.
But at least there has been waitlist movement as opposed to last year when Temple may have had an over-acceptance problem.

If it were me, I would be re-writing my PS and work/activities as well as making sure I was adding new ECs to pad any areas that might have been weak on the last app NOW. Yes, you may get off the CCL and everything you do will be wasted effort, but its much better to have it just in case things don't work out this time around. I always hope for the best, but try to plan for the worst.

Does anyone know where to find the 2015 match list for Temple or what the average Step score was?

Hello,

I was just accepted off the CCL and having trouble deciding between TUSM and DUCOM. I am currently 50-50 and hoping people could give some insight into what makes TUSM better?

Also, for those that got off the CCL: My e-mail says that the deposit is due on May 21st, so does that mean I can pay it thru the day on the 21st, or does it have to be by 11:59 PM tonight (the 20th)?

I hear the rotations at Drexel are shotty. Did you get in on main campus or St. Lukes?

Facilities, being right next to the hospital, and the fact that the whole class does the same curriculum are what did it for me.

Have people already begun to get their two-step PPD test?
It says on the welcoming memo that PPDs would be placed and read during orientation. I assumed that they will do all of that for us when we get there as long as we give them all the other immunization information in advance, unless I'm completely wrong.

Just withdrew my app. Such a hard decision as I loved almost everything about Temple. Hopefully my spot goes to someone on the wait list!

Anybody got any financial aid award from Temple? Still haven't got any information on the Self Service Banner...
I'm wondering if it's because of that Graduate Student Enrollment Verfication Sheet.

Where do you find the Graduate Student Enrollment Verification Sheet?

Nope. And it's almost July...

I called and apparently the requirements should be done ASAP. :scared:

If you sign onto TUportal, click on the Student Tools tab on the upper left side of the website. Then scroll downward until you see a box with the title "Student Financial Services." Below it should a list of Satisfied and Unsatisfied Requirements for financial aid.

Also, the Requirement "Graduate Student Enrollment Verification Sheet" is fulfilled by the form "HSC Graduate Enrollment Form" here:
