Anyone else pretty set on attending? I'm hoping their financial aid package isn't too bad. This has been my dream school for years and I love SF!
Ready, set, but can't go until (if) I'm accepted 🙁Anyone else pretty set on attending? I'm hoping their financial aid package isn't too bad. This has been my dream school for years and I love SF!

Maybe! I love the school. I'm especially interested in their structured and longitudinal clerkship programs, including PISCES and KLIC. A lot more detail on PISCES here.
Me 🙂Anyone else pretty set on attending? I'm hoping their financial aid package isn't too bad. This has been my dream school for years and I love SF!
Great question. I talked about this with a third year in PISCES when I interviewed, but I forgot what she said! Thanks again for the great links. Do you know how the school chooses which students get into which SLIC? For example, what if more than 8 kids want to get into KLIC?

Edit: This doesn't shed too much light, but I think she did say that there was not enough demand for these programs at their inception, but now there are more people who want in than there are spots.
I don't remember this being mentioned on interview day. Does UCSF have high/honors pass in addition to P/F?
Oh perfect!First two years: Fail/Pass
Clerkships: Fail/Pass/Honors
I think it would become more competitive than it already is, because all the business/tech wannabes would switch their sites from Stanford to SF.Just had a thought. What if Dr. Priscilla Chan had been feeling really grateful for her medical training, and she and her husband had decided to donate $200 million or even $225 million directly to UCSF? How would you feel about the Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan School of Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco? (Facebook Med for short?)
I rather them just give UCSF money for better financial aid.I think it would become more competitive than it already is, because all the business/tech wannabes would switch their sites from Stanford to SF.
ACCEPTED!!!! ALKSJDLAJL;AA!!!
Accepted tonight as well!!! WHOA BUDDY!
Congratulations Mr. October! If you click "Yes" (or fill in your SSN or whatever it asks you to do), it changes to this:I have a couple of questions. If anyone is able to answer them that would be great!
Thanks!
- Does anyone know what it means when you click yes? Do you immediately pay a deposit or what happens?
- Is more information coming in the mail?
- Is there a deadline for me to accept/decline?
We are very pleased to receive your acceptance of our offer. We recognize that you are likely to be considering other opportunities as well. If we can be helpful as you ponder your options, please let us know. In this regard, we hope you will be able to attend our Accepted Students Weekend (April 17-18). More information about the weekend will be sent to you in March.
Wow, it's like they can't go a day without announcing another gift from a zillionaire. (This one's fortune comes from duty-free stores? I didn't know people actually bought things at those places. I'm impressed.)
That's a really good question. Dean Wofsy talked about how they try to be the cheapest option for every student at my interview day. But it seems like there are mixed reports out there about how good the aid is. Not sure how to evaluate it until the awards come in.They said some will go to lowering medical school education costs! I hope that affects us! What do you guys think?
Also, relatedly, do you guys know how good UCSF fin aid is?
end of January! When did you interview?
Just joined SDN, I decided it was too stressful to read while I was an applicant, ha ha. I was accepted to UCSF on Friday. I received a short email (best email of my life, to be honest) and when I log into my status page is now reads this:
Congratulations on your acceptance! We enjoyed meeting you on your interview day and hope to welcome you to UCSF in the fall. Please use the buttons below to indicate whether you plan to accept our offer.

How important is revisit weekend? I'm on the east coast and it's such an expensive hassle to make the visit
Does anyone know if UCSF offers to pay for flights to go to revisit weekend if someone cannot afford it?
I interviewed the last week of January and just heard back from the school. So, hopefully soon!anyone know when those who interviewed in late January will hear back?
I know you did 😉 teheI interviewed the last week of January and just heard back from the school. So, hopefully soon!

Probably not any time soon. The fin aid office is really nice, in case you wanna call. If you do, let us know!Anyone know when they might release financial aid offers?

2012-2014, by specialty, but doesn't list the programsAnyone have/know UCSFs most recent match list. I'm just curious as I couldn't really find anything online.
Did you check msar for stats? ECs vary widely but are consistently good. You could look at MD apps for examples.Could some of you who got accepted post your stats like mcat, GPA, and ECs, i am applying this cycle and i want to know if i stand a chance.
You know, the funny thing is: it isn't until after you go through this process that you finally understand how futile it is to compare yourself to other applicants. And trust me, I did. A LOT. But if I had actually acted based on those conclusions I made, I would not be holding this acceptance right now.Could some of you who got accepted post your stats like mcat, GPA, and ECs, i am applying this cycle and i want to know if i stand a chance.
