Your Application has been reviewed by the Admissions Committee at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Applicants will be invited to interview based upon their point total from the Committee review. Applications that have been reviewed and scored by the Committee will be considered for interviews during the entire interview cycle (September - April).

So you guys were saying that this was the positive status to have, even though it definitely wasn't a guarantee of an interview?

Due to my own neuroticism , and the spirit of the neuroticisim of SDN I took the liberty to collect some data from last years thread.

6 out of 9 people who stated they received this status received an interview invite. The 3 people who did not get an II, I do not know for sure what became of them as they never actually posted again after they stated they received that status. Anyways, I went through the first 13 pages of last years thread to collect that and then it got to November pages and I got bored. Small sample size, but it's certainly not a bad status to have.

Here's the "no final decision" language.

just got verified yesterday, it might be earlier in the thread but how hard do they screen? i got an email saying that they're gonna review me before inviting me to complete the secondary?

In case anyone is in a similar boat, I called and asked about my application photograph since it's been > 2 weeks since I sent it in and it hadn't been marked as received. I spoke to a very nice woman named Agnes and she took care of it for me!

Did she say there was a problem with them receiving the photos through email or did she just help you in order to expedite your application to completion? Did she say how long it usually takes?

She didn't mention either. I had emailed my photograph to both of the emails mentioned earlier in this thread, and after 2 weeks they still hadn't gotten them. When I called and gave her my information, she said she didn't see any emails, so I ended up just cc'ing her in a new email.

I think I read somewhere to allow 10 business days for them to process it.

No, citizenship number is completely different and non-dependent on passport number. If they ask for something you should probably follow instructions and give them that number rather than asking a bunch of pre-med's if ignoring their instructions is okay. Not trying to be snappy, but your question doesn't make any sense. If there is a reason why you can't provide that number, call or email them to ask what you should do.

It would be on your naturalization certificate. That paper with your picture and seal that gave you when you naturalized. If you don't have it request a copy from USCIS

I was verified 7/24. I got receipt notification from Miami on 7/25. I received the secondary on 8/1.

I sent it in on a similar timeline, mid july and again late july. When I called, it turns out they didn't receive either of my emails. I'd recommend calling.

I would consider it humanities, but I know that either on the FAQ or via a link on the secondary they list appropriate courses.

Yeah just call them. I did and they claim I did not put my AAMC number in the subject line (which is um weird b/c my copy of my email has it on the subject line...😵) but yeah anyways they found it. Better than waiting & languishing around for a while haha

Naw. It's a very lengthy secondary, so I'm sure they'll understand. I wouldn't go longer than a month or so, but three weeks isn't a big deal considering it's essentially a 4000 word essay!

I recently saw an adcom post about this. They said they hardly ever pay attention to turnover time. It's more just your completion date so you're not too late in the season. And you should be fine cause we're right in the middle!

For the photo I naturally put my amcas # in the Email but not in the subject line. I didn't see that they wanted it in the subject line until after I submitted. Do you think it's okay?
