2014-2015 University of Pittsburgh Application Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
You know the email we got a couple of weeks ago about making sure your AMCAS mailing address is up to date, that said they'd be sending out a packet in the next few weeks?
Has anyone gotten that yet?
Also, did anyone get confirmation that their transcript was received?

Speaking of housing, do any current students or people familiar with Pittsburgh have thoughts about picking a place close to a busway stop (but maybe further away from school) vs a regular bus line? I'm guessing the busway times are going to be more reliable, especially during weekday traffic, but curious to get people's experiences. Thanks!

The only busway bus that comes to Pitt is the P3 - it runs pretty frequently on weekday mornings and evenings, but not at all on weekends. You can still take other buses like the 71AC from Centre, 71BD from Fifth, 75 on Ellsworth, 82 down Centre, etc.

I had a place on the P3 line but after it gets off the busway in Oakland (on Neville) and it was great because I could either walk to school in under 20 min or take the bus if I wasn't feeling like walking. But Shadyside (near the Negley busway stop) and East Liberty are pretty good places to live if you don't mind living a bit out from campus.
