Your name says laffercurves on your secondary application? 😉

Word of advice- I was wondering why I wasn't getting one of those cool completion emails and I just figured it out tonight. Once your letters have been received, you have to go back to your secondary application and at the top left select "submit forms." Your application will remain incomplete until then so make sure you take care of this step!

Uggghh... Seriously? I had to do the same thing.

Oh my ugh. Apparently one of my letters doesn't describe my activity adequately so now I have to hope my letter writer can send in an updated letter. This was my slowest letter. It took her two months. I just emailed her. Hopefully she can do it today.

That is terrible. The fact they do that is ludicrous. LOOK AT THE AMCAS APP & CALL THE SUPERVISOR TO CONFIRM LIKE EVERYONE ELSE.

Ugh, I am in the exact same situation. Slowest writer, but probably my most important letter. LeSigh.

Are you still required to meet the deadline? I would hope they have something in place to allow for an extension.

Has anyone received a "complete" email? If so, what was the date your last letter was received and the date of the email?

I received this email on Aug 11:

"Dear [applicant],

Thank you for completing your secondary materials for the University of Utah School of Medicine. You will be contacted in 4 to 6 weeks regarding the status of your application for our school.

We thank you for your patience as we process your application."

My last letter was received on August 8.

Thank you! I appreciate you taking the time to share this information. Looks like I should wait a couple more days before bugging the admissions office again.

Rejected this morning 🙁

Above average at more than 5, none below minimum. I have no idea

How is that even possible? Were you below any minimums? Not at 5 above average?
Just found out it's because my non science GPA is apparently a 3.18 (I had it calculated at 3.21), whereas my overall is 3.39, science 3.65. So... Yeah.

I'm sorry man. That is really annoying.

I heard a rumor that interview will begin in early September. How have you guys been prepping for interviews?

Sorry to hear about the rejection @Bbroush. Crazy that they are already sending those out.

Feel your pain. In the same boat. 3.6 s GPA but 3.1 non science GPA. My credits are 80% science as a double Biochemistry and Bio. But due to taking all my generals as an irresponsible freshman seven years ago, I don't meet their criteria.

Did anyone else, who was under the impression that they had submitted (and complete), get a secondary app reminder this morning?

Nope. Make sure you hit the submit button on the top left.

Thanks, but I did submit it a while ago and it has been marked as submitted on their portal since.

Anyone else get this? It was sent out at midnight, so it looks like it might be an automatic e-mail alert.

You can try calling the admissions office. They are very helpful. I am curious what they say! Let us know.

Sure, so I called and they said it is an automated e-mail that is sent out when your materials are 2 weeks away from being due. It does not mean that your application is not complete.

Thanks all.

I know you've rectified this already, but I got the same email today and I subsequently received another email today saying that my secondary has been submitted and that they will get back to me in 4-6 weeks.

Does anybody know roughly how long it takes for the University of Utah to update letters of recommendation? I submitted two weeks ago but they said one of my letters didn't meet the criteria. I submitted a new one earlier this week and it hasn't been updated. How long did it take for yours to be updated?

Edit: I guess I was impatient. They updated my letters today 🙂

How long did it take for your payment to change to "complete"? I just paid and would like to submit but it's still incomplete....

If for some reason one of my letters doesn't meet criteria... I'm assuming I still have to meet the original 30 day deadline? That would be terrible....

did you wait until all letters were received before you click submit forms? Or once the payment is received ....
