Wait what? You received the message I did after an II? That's confusing
That's why I speculated that they're organizing the next set of IIs soon, but getting MD/PhD candidates in first.

Had you been given an email II?
May status after a long review process. TY JOHN! LOL
longer vs shorter complete status?? TBH.. I never paid that much attention to notice a difference! However, I only received status updates 2x, once saying I am complete and the May status yesterday. So your longer complete status switch to the shorter one then after a long time you got the MAY status?

Ohhh okay. For me it was just those two! Hopefully May status turns into--->IIInteresting! Some of us have been getting a status update from the original complete to another complete status, but shorter. Oh well! Congrats!
got this
"The committee's file review indicates that they would like to consider your file further. We are now in the process of scheduling interviews and will continue to do so through February. Unfortunately, the committee indicates interest in far more candidates than we are able to interview. Since we are dependent on the Committee member's schedules for interview spaces, we are unable to predict when or if we will be able to schedule you this year. Please continue to check this site to learn when further action has been taken."
huh
Someone from the school in the last year's thread mentioned that further is more of a 'we should have reviewed this file by now but it is still pending some review'. So in a way there is more of a variety in outcomes from 'further', including interviews or eventual rejections. No idea how correct that is.That's "Further" as opposed to "May." No real clear consensus on which ranks above the other, as far as I know.
Changed as well. The "placed on hold" sentence really gave me a shock and scared me! Thought I had been wait listed/rejected. When did you interview?Just got the post-interview hold, didn't think the adcom met on Fridays. Weird.
"The Admissions Committee has met to discuss your file. Your application is being placed on hold for action at a later date. We anticipate making offers around October 16, December 15, February 1, and March 16. If any of these dates falls on a weekend the offers will be made on the following Monday. Only offers of admission will be made on the dates above."
Fingers crossed...only interview thus far.
Also...does anyone get rejected immediately post-interview or does everyone get the hold?

I think people get rejected before October? Not sure thoughInterviewed September 15th. My interviewer said it would take him 2-3 weeks to meet w/ the committee so it fell within the time frame. I'm just curious if anyone gets flat out rejected post-interview or if everyone pretty much gets this status. The waiting game begins haha
You both IS, as well?
Sounds like a very positive thing to me 🙂Another question-- did anyone else get a follow-up e-mail from their interviewer? Mine sent me an email with a question he forgot to ask and said he enjoyed our conversation. I'm hoping this is a good thing?

I think that is the 4th status. The sub-committee one."The committee's file review indicates that they wish to consider your file over the next several weeks before making a decision about interview. Since they have some reservations about granting an interview, your file will be reviewed again by a small sub-committee before making a final decision. Please continue to check this site in order to learn when further action has been taken."
I'm not sure if have seen that here before.. did anybody else get this one?

When did you Interview? I interviewed 10/1 and have no hold so far.

Who ended up being your interviewer? A student or a faculty member?I interviewed yesterday and this is how they explained the post-interview review process. They said that our files would be reviewed the following monday (10/13). The person who interviewed you would present your file to the rest of the committee along with a summary of the interview questions and answers. Each member would then give you a score from 1-5 (with 0.5 point increments and 5 being the worst) and the highest and lowest scores would be discarded then the rest would be averaged. If you are above a 3.5 average then you are automatically rejected and notified immediatly, the rest go in a list in order of priority score. On the dates that they release decisions (the first date being 10/16) they will start at the top of the list and give acceptances. You may move up in the priority list for the next release date, but if others interview and are scored ahead of you, you might move back down. After the last decision release date (at the end of March) they will send out email to those who weren't initially accepted to see if they want to be placed on the waitlist. You MUST reply and inform them if you want on the waitlist at that point. They make an In-state and Out-of-state waitlist seperately because they try and keep the class 50/50, usually there is more movement on the Out-of-state waitlist.
Hope that clears up a few things! Feel free to ask me any questions about how the day went.
I think the interview went well. I'm pretty sure that they said they would review our applications before the October 16 date, but I have not received anything yet. No hold, interview survey, or rejection. How did the interview go? Did they indicate whether or not your app would be discussed before the Oct 16th batch of offers?
Acceptances don't go out until Oct 15 for MD schools. I think it is an Amcas rule.
I have a a friend who accepted an offer from the University of Minnesota Medical School last week...I would assume this rule is invalid...
Edit: I just realized she probably applied early decision! Duh.

The VCU post interview status says the acceptances will go out the 16th, so it could very well be either. I believe the amcas rule is that regular pool applicants can be notified of official acceptance after the 15th, however there are a number of schools that I have heard of that do not send out acceptance on this date.Haha, yah sorry I didn't mention the rule doesn't apply to early decision.
At my interviews I was told oct 15
Complete August 14th with zero news or communication.Just curious .. Anyone complete around mid -August hear back yet?
Complete August 14th with zero news or communication.
Complete mid July with no news or communication, with stats near this school's average. Has anyone had any luck calling or emailing to check to make sure their file hasn't been misplaced? Or to make sure their reviewer is still alive?
+1. Complete mid-July with zero communication.Haha, while I completely understand that feeling, I would probably not call about that. I've been complete since beginning of July, with stats at this school's top end. There are a lot of applications to look at. People getting II's who were complete after oneself does not mean you were looked over. From all I've seen about this process this year and previous years, chronological order of submission has only a small effect. It helps, but in no way guarantees that you will hear back before people who submitted later. Patience is the name of the game.
After that soapbox, I don't think it'll hurt your chances to call.
#1. Complete mid-July with zero communication.
Sorry, I meant +1. I wish I was #1! haha. Still no word or status changes.was that a +1? or you got the #1 (very interested status) after being complete since mid-July with zero communication?
wishful thinking but thought I'd ask
Has anyone who interviewed since October 1st received any update such as a survey or a hold?
I have had the MAY status for 2 months now. Has anyone moved from the MAY status to an II after several weeks? I saw quite a few who went from MAY to II after a few days, but not sure about my chances after so long.
