Sigh - just joined this website to find this thread. I am not sure when I was put on the post-interview status vs. the post-interview hold status -- I only see the last email I had from them for status change was on 9/26 (I'm assuming that was hold status, as I was interviewed on 9/10 and got a status change 9/12).

I got no news yesterday although I was feeling positive about it. Sooo...december it is, right?
 
Accepted last night at 6:18! IS, interviewed early September. So excited!
 
FYI: I'm a GMED (guaranteed accepted student) and I was supposed to be notified of my official acceptance to pay the matriculation free yesterday, but I didn't get any emails/notifications. So I called the admissions office this morning and they confirmed that I am def accepted, and the reason that I didn't get an email was bc there was some sort of systems failure. They said that many others didn't go through as well, so def call up the office to find out either way!

Did your acceptance show up in the portal last night or did you still have the "hold" status? And congrats!

You're giving me too many straws to grasp haha. I interviewed early October, and my interviewer said she would present me to the committee 10/13, but my portal still shows the interview survey. I would love to think this is due to a system failure, but I'm pretty sure I will just have to wait until December to get any news!

My status is a little different then the rest of you guys. But it hasn't changed since I submitted my ii.

It says:

Your M.D. file is now complete. As a VCU special admittance program applicant, (Guaranteed Medical Student or Deferred/Delayed Matriculant) you will be notified of your acceptance on Oct. 16th. At that time, you are required to pay the matriculation fee ($100.00) and complete the on-line matriculation form. This guarantees that your seat will be held for you. Please notify us immediately if there will be any change in your status. If you are a GMED and notify us by May 15 that you will attend another school your matriculation fee will be refunded. Deferred Matriculates are not allowed to apply to other medical schools.
 
I called; no luck. Guess I'm waiting until December. Congrats to all who have been admitted.
 
Can anyone share what's interview day like? What time does the day start/end? I am trying to schedule an interview.... Thank you!

When I called today, the administrator said they are not considering state residence for their decisions until the waitlist forms in March. Seems strange...
 
Also is there a group for accepted students. I know there is supposedly a forum somewhere under housing and transportation but I can't seem to find it.

I just asked to check my status. The person who talked to me confirmed the same "hold" status that I'm showing on the portal and told me the next round of decisions will go out December 15th.

Ah, I see. Well, patience is a virtue for the both of us. Til December...
 
So I went from the initial "long" complete status to "Your file is complete, and has been forwarded to the Admissions Committee for further decison" after about 16 days. I received this shorter update on 10/9. Has anyone received similar updates and then heard anything afterwards? I'm curious as VCU is my top choice. Also, my friend was complete at VCU on 10/2 and ended up getting the "May" update yesterday around 6 pm. Seems like the order in which you are complete doesn't matter too much as far as getting reviewed goes.

I'd go as far as to say it doesn't matter at all. Complete 7/18, zero communication. What did I do wrong VCU?
 
Had the post-interview hold prior to Oct. 16 - interviewed mid-September (IS). Looks like I got passed over.

Can anybody speak to the general likelihood of hearing good news on Dec. 15 if you got passed over in October? Does it mean they have no interest in accepting if you get passed over once? How likely is it that you interview early and get passed over on all 4 dates?

When I interviewed, I spoke to an M4. I asked him if he had any advice for me prior to leaving (we had a very nice conversation). He told me that its very important to be patient and try not to go crazy waiting. He said he didn't hear from them on the October date, got sad, didn't hear from them on the December date, thought for sure they weren't interested, and then was accepted in Februrary. Basically he was saying don't freak out if you don't hear from them on the first date
 
How can there possibly be SO many statuses. Have to have a little more compassion for applicants. Is it just confusion on their part or intentional??

This was good to hear, thanks. I was feeling pretty down after not hearing back last week. Here's hoping we all get some good news later on in the cycle!
 
Emm how about no nebulous statuses!!?!! II/reject is just fine with me. I hate but "holds" because they hardly every turn into an II!

The committee's file review indicates that they are interested in your candidacy. However, due to the increase in the applicant pool this year, it is clear we MAY be unable to interview all the candidates at your priority score. If we do find that we are unable to grant an interview, you will be notified by e-mail in March.

Is this just a nicer way of saying that I'm on pre-interview hold? So confused of this cryptic message!

I believe they are not even sure what it means
 
My AMCAS was complete early September, but I just got granted access to the secondary... Did everyone have to wait that long?

If you read through the past 30 something pages, you will see SEVERAL people with that status. It is a nebulous small pool email. Some received IIs after getting that status, while some like myself, are still waiting.

I got a lot of status change emails and the website doesn't seem to show the chronological order of what those status changes are, but I think I got my "complete and ready to be reviewed" email on September 10. That was the last status change until today's change to "MAY" status.

Aww Garrbear I'm sorry. I've read so many of your posts in the old EVMS thread, didn't realize you were applying again this cycle. Maybe we'll meet on the interview trail 😉 good luck man.
