I'll be wait late on a few of these (The ones that sent out secondaries to everyone before verification) as I'm still waiting on verification - don't sweat it, it's more just a general rule. There is no ticking clock that goes off at 2 weeks and your app is thrown out

How did you all pay the supp fee? I don't see an option for it on the application.
 
it says that we must answer #7-11 to finalize our secondary, but what should we do if have nothing to bring our AMCAS up to date/no Loyola alums in our family?

Hi! Curious about the class cohesiveness, how are study groups like and overall class dynamic? People nice and approachable?

Yep :/ It only doesn't work when I try to add text and "save and continue". I can browse through all the pages of the application but I can't actually fill anything out...

Edit - was able to get through and save the second page after restarting safari and clearing my history and web data but still stuck on question 7 >_>

Someone answered this question earlier in the thread and I agree with they said: Stritch is a big family. Overall, our class is very friendly, inclusive, and helpful. I know all of about 10 people (out of 160) by name and would feel comfy having a conversation with most of them. Theres always gonna be a group that you mesh with more and spend most of your time with but our class isn't super clique-ish. People also study together as well as share study aides all the time, our grades aren't curved so we are all in the fight together. There are a few people who have personalities that aren't my favorite but that will be the case with any large group of people.
 
Emailed admissions about the error I was having and someone named Tomás responded saying to use google chrome and if that didn't work, to email him again my response so he could manually input it on his end!
 
On the portal it says that I've successfully finalized my application, but I didn't get any sort of confirmation email. Is that what's supposed to happen? (Also, completely irrelevant but...first post ever! lol)
 
Do you guys know how strict they are with the 2 paragraphs maximum? I originally wrote my prompts for less than 500 words (made several paragraphs), but realize at the very beginning it says to keep it at 2 paragraphs.
 
I personally called admissions and they told me multiple paragraphs is acceptable as long as you stay under 501 words

Please indicate additional grades earned, alterations in your proposed coursework or graduation date, address changes, additions to your list of activities, and anything else you feel we should know. If you have not been enrolled in coursework, please let us know what you have been doing since coursework ended.

The way I read it, the first one asks from previous cycle to now, and the latter is referring to current AMCAS submissions and receipt of this secondary (month or so). Lots of students are still in school when AMCAS submission becomes available.

Whoaaa how interesting 😳 I have work all day and it's a little difficult for me to take a call. Would it reflect badly if it just went to voicemail?

so I just called the admissions office and they had a system error that never marked my letters as received... Ive spent the last two weeks stressing and I am only now entering the preliminary review...

How many people are actually writing 500 words?
Seems like I'll be shooting for about half that...
 
Anyone else who was verified before July 1st still waiting for secondaries?? I am starting to worry because I've gotten pretty much every other school's secondary but not Loyola's...

Should I write about being gay in the diversity promt? I know the jesuits are more open minded than most Catholics (I was raised Catholic), but I don't want to shoot myself in the foot by writing a whole big gay essay. Their diversity policy does not say anything about like "we do not discriminate based on race, religions, sexual orientation.. etc" so there is no explicit rejection of homophobia unlike most schools, which is giving me pause. I'm very service oriented so this schools really appeals to me!


EDIT: with some deeper searching I found "Specifically the Office of Diversity and Inclusion works to:...Advocate for and support the interests of student affinity groups, not limited to but including students of color, LGBT students,veterans and students with disabilities..." SO that is encouraging!

I would still be interested to hear about the campus climate surrounding queer issues if anyone has any experience.

I wrote about growing up gay in a small rural community. My philosophy is, if a school is willing to reject me because of that, they're not a school worth attending. 🙂

I did the same thing but for the personal challenge part. Let's see how receptive Loyola is to that.
 
Finally getting to work on this secondary after having it sit in my inbox for 3 weeks. Anyway, is the maximum length for each essay response 2 paragraphs, 500 words, or whatever comes first? For example, can I have 4 paragraphs that total 400 words?

Sup. The max. length is 500 words. If you write more than 2 paragraphs, that's ok, as long as the word count is below 500!
I was happy being done with this secondary... until i got around to the CCLM one for case. LOL

Thanks! The instructions say 2 paragraphs maximum OR at most 500 words, so I guess one could interpret it several ways. I'll try to cut down on huge paragraphs then. 🙂

P.S. Good luck with Case! Not applying there because my GPA is way too low.

In the secondary instructions, it indicates that to in order "to designate paragraphs, please double-space." Do they mean a double space, or line break by using the enter key? Should I hit the space bar twice to designate a paragraph, or should I hit the enter key twice? I'm confused about this. 🙁

I did a double space bar in front of each new paragraph. How do English, secondaries
 
still working on that person for others essay...hopefully I can submit tonight
