still working on that person for others essay...hopefully I can submit tonight

Yeah, this one was difficult. I just talked in-depth about a community service activity and what I learned from it. Then I kind of go off topic and say I want to serve disadvantaged populations and then go on to describe what led me to this goal. It's all over the place, really, but I'm sick of thinking about this one.

yup this essay delayed me a week haha, I'm finished with the others. I thought they wanted like a full story about how I "developed" into a person for other type of individual so I was giving brief stuff about different activities...but I think going in depth would be better now. UGH idk.

But why is it space bar? Seems so counter-intuitive.
haha i think it's because usually in word docs, it's "Tab" to indicate paragraphs, but since you can't do that on an online preface, they just have you space twice.
This one is one of those secondaries to which i'm just like
IT'S OVER, YOU MONSTER.

did you do one situation for the person for other essay or multiple?

Wait, so should I hit Enter twice, and then Space Bar twice? As in line break, and then double-space indent? Or just double-space between the paragraph?

I was thinking of doing a chronological review of my service activities and saying how each one helped me, but it felt like it would be disjointed. But if you pulled it off well, then I think that approach would fit the prompt much better!

ahhh ok I think there is a lot of flexibility in answering these things anyways haha. And to answer your question it should have 2 spaces between the paragraphs (I think). So enter 3 times. But I am not 100% sure

(space space) Paragraph 1 Loyola y u do dis u maek me so bery saddu saddu
saddu saddu
(space space) Paragraph 2 Loyola i waz keedin pls take meh

So I'm going to just going to do this:

<SPACE><SPACE>Paragraph 1 Loyola y u do dis u maek me so bery saddu saddu END PARAGRAPH
<LINE BREAK>
<LINE BREAK>
<SPACE> <SPACE> Paragraph 2 Loyola y u do dis u maek me so bery saddu saddu END PARAGRAPH

Better safe than sorry.

Wow.. I already submitted and missed the instructions on double-spacing. Stupid mistake. I hope they don't penalize me for skimming through the instructions and failing to follow them.

I just saw these instructions as I was going to copy and paste my essays into the website. I think it'll be OK as long as you entered line breaks between paragraphs!

In the secondary instructions, it indicates that to in order "to designate paragraphs, please double-space." Do they mean a double space, or line break by using the enter key? Should I hit the space bar twice to designate a paragraph, or should I hit the enter key twice? I'm confused about this. 🙁
When talking about paragraphs, double space means to hit the enter key twice 🙂

^^ agreed. Don't read too deeply into this guys hahah. Think about when someone tells you do make sure your paper is double spaced... Do you add double spaces or do you enter a blank line in between? 😛

Is there any way to check our status for this one? Or nah?

anyone been moved from preliminary review to under review? If so, how long did it take? I have been under preliminary review for over a week & checking the portal constantly l0l

Do you know if it even moves to another status afterwards?

On the 2014-2015 thread they said you go from

preliminary review ( making sure that your file is complete) ---> under review ( considering you for II)---> either II or have been reviewed ( on hold)
some people get moved from the on hold status( have been reviewed ) to II, while other stay there until the end.. so its a rejection

"If you waived your right to an advisor letter, please indicate to us why you chose not to seek a letter from your premedical advisor."

I'm guessing this is different than a committee letter? My school had premed advisors but they were generally known to not be very helpful. Not sure how to explain this one. Assuming this means I just didn't choose to ask for a letter from a premed advisor?

Same here, I never went to an advisor so I never developed a relationship to ask

Did you not go to an advisor at all? I only visited our premed advisors once, but everyone at my school was told to find a major advisor, so I used my major advisor's letter and explained that in the box. He was basically my premed advisor anyway.

I am curious about that question as well. We did not have a committee letter service at my college, but we did have a premedical adviser who I visited a couple times and am using for my letter packet service. She never wrote personal letters though for students. Unsure about what to write.

Yo. Could someone post the prompts? I'm still deciding whether or not to apply here. Thanks!

how long to get verified guys? I am still waiting!! :/ anyone ? I submitted it in mid july

Hey guys, I submitted my secondary 7/20 but my status says that they're still missing letters. I sent them to AMCAS a long time ago (first week of June). Anyone else have this issue? Do I just need to wait?

Any ideas from previous years when Loyola starts sending out IIs?

Question. My school writes a premed committee letter (not a packet) and submits 2-3 letters from our file, but they never told me which specific letters they would submit. So if I have a premed committee letter, is it also required that I have 2 science and 1 non-science letter accompanying my file? (I might have it, I'm just not sure cause they never told me).

committee letter trumps all independent requirements in every case I've witnessed

Does everyone else's portal say
"Your file is currently undergoing a preliminary review."?

THank goodness by email. Phone would be a little odd, as you can't always pick up, especially from an unknown number.
If you are applying to med school, It is advised to pick up your phone for ALL numbers, known or not, from now to April. And be all professional like, "Hello, this is -----"
