2015-2016 Loyola University Chicago (Stritch) Application Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
The letter took about a week longer to receive than they had originally told me. And as excited as i was to receive mine, it's a rather underwhelming letter (one page, smudge marks from the printer 🙂 ). The things you do need to respond to are on the portal itself, so you shouldn't have anything to worry about!
YAY stress free vacation then 🙂

Has anyone been placed on a pre-interview hold and then had their application undergo review again? If so, how long has a decision taken to complete (back on preinterview hold, interview offer, reject)?

Thanks!

Are they sending out II this week or should we expect more updates after the holidays?
My portal status says that as of today (Dec 28th) my file is currently undergoing review. I think it said that before, but it would seem that they are at least looking at things this week (unless it's just an automated update).

Mine has said that for months and months so I'm not too sure if that is indicative of them actually currently reviewing your application... sorry 🙁

Working for me now, has anyone's status changed? This is uber frustrating.

Hey guys, for accepted students, when do we send in our transcripts?

I guess I'm getting restless ^_^, and finished filling in all the portal stuff and am wondering what else I need to do. Also, when do we get info on all the health clearances/titers/vaccinations and how to send all that in?

+1 and I forgot about the bolded ugh. At least it gets me out of work for a couple hours... 😛

Merp. You're right! That feels...misleading. :meh:

If they send that info the same time they did two years ago (I'm currently an M2), you won't get the forms for vaccines and after 2nd visit/summer time. Transcripts, don't really remember.

If I recall, the deadline to hold 1 acceptance is like May 15 or something. So once you've accepted your seat for certain, the info for requirements starts rolling out.

If you're as excited like I was almost 2 yrs ago (M2 as well), then I suggest you start making a checklist and start printing out forms after May 15:
-transcript request forms (if completed and/or hard to get)
-loan deferment forms
-power of attorney (if applicable)

You'll get a pre-orientation packet/link after May with the mailing address for all the academic stuff. Medical stuff will need to be uploaded to Certified Profile (or whatever it's called).

Finally, if you're still antsy, I suggest you wrap up any loose ends: renew license plates, license, insurance policies, etc if you need to. Also! You can scout out academic resources and note-taking methods/technologies to figure out how you're gonna study (the nerd in me really enjoyed this part lol)
Oh and DO NOT STUDY!

Looking at last year thread Loyola sent out II on 12/29. I would think most offices would be closed between Christmas and New Year's, but I guess last year they weren't. It HAS to be some more II coming next week!! Hoping for the best.

Thank you for the detective work! Fingers crossed 🙂

If you've just recently changed to "already reviewed" without an II, is there still a chance you can get an II in the future? I just submitted an update.

Still under preliminary review since August...any hope for me? (Do they do silent rejections?)

They don't send out rejections until the end of the cycle. I wouldn't necessarily call that a silent rejection, though.

Anyone else gotten a phone call yet? Really hoping this is the day to hear at least a reject or interview offer!!

Hmm are II interviews or acceptances? Also, for those that were offered interviews, did they call or send emails?

II means "Interview Invite", and I believe the school uses email to offer interviews (at least that's how I received mine).

Unless it's the University of Central Florida 😛
Technicality....

It's like how processed food companies get some bugs ground up in their product, but as long as it's under a certain amount, they don't have to list "bugs" in the ingredients.

Hahaha. I like you

Question for current students who were placed on the alternate list before getting accepted, how often should updates/letters of intent be sent? I remember seeing a post in last year's thread about the dean saying that the school liked frequent updates. Additionally, how long should these update letters be, or does length of the letter not really matter?

ive been "under review" since mid september im kinda tempted to call them I thought I would at least hear back from them by now, i even got that email telling me to apply where they said they would "expidite" my application. I just want an II here :/
I feel like you still have a chance. I've been complete since late July and havent heard. Guessing i'll get the mass rejection at the end of feb.. :/

I believe I read somewhere that there was a status that popped up for some that had indicated that they had already finished an initial review, without recieving an II. I think if you're still under review, they may not have made any decision either way. However, I could be wrong. Can anyone clarify?

Same. I highly doubt it is taking them this long to review my application. I really want to interview here but at this point I just want them to reject me already so I can stop checking for status changes every day.
