2015-2016 Temple University Application Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Forgive me for the slight neuroticism but how long does it take to get a confirmation email of the interview date? I had scheduled yesterday over the phone for an interview and will be flying out this Monday. My portal hasn't updated and the dropdown to upload a photo hasn't shown up yet either...

II just now as well, not sure what campus (should I assume it's the Philadelphia campus if the e-mail did not specify?)
Scheduled for 1/13
Complete late August

Mine showed up pretty much instantly IIRC, but I scheduled online. This was months ago too.

Just checked my original email with the invite, and the second to last paragraph tells you where to report.

Got it. I didn't realize all interviews were not at the Philly location.

513 MCAT, 3.8 cGPA 3.7 sGPA in state

From what I understand, all interviews are in Philly unless you are interviewing for the St. Luke's track.

Hello. Someone probably already asked this but does Temple do student hosting? Also where would be a good (cheap) place to stay if they don't, that is close enough to campus? Thank you!

Sorry if this has been asked already, but I went back a few pages and didn't see anything. Does Temple have a student host program? If so, how do I access this information? Thanks 🙂
EDIT: Found the link never mind!
Hi could you share the link with me?
Nvm!

Did anyone who interviewed at St. Luke's also go to the main Philly campus the following day?

Hey, first time poster and Ill be applying in this summer/fall, so I'm not with you guys. I just was wondering what the difference was between St. Luke's vs Main besides location? Is it the same curriculum or is one more competitive? Kinda confused

It's the same curriculum. The exams are the same as well (they're made by the professors in philly). St Luke's students also have access to the recorded lectures from the philly campus. I have a family member who goes to st Luke's, so any other questions I might be able to answer!

Ah thanks for the reply! This might be a bit too specific, but would the research opportunities be comparable between the two?

I'm not too sure about the research opportunities. I would assume there are more in philly, but my family member didn't have trouble finding a clinical research opportunity in the summer between M1 and M2 (at st lukes)

Thats good to hear, thanks for the information 🙂

Congrats to those who have been accepted and received interview invites. Do you guys mind sharing your stats?

II today around 4:30! LizzyM ~70, complete 8/25 if that's still a thing people care about. Out of state, but used to live in the Philadelphia area

Did anyone drive to their interview? If so which parking lot did you use/did you have any issues?

I parked at the hospital right across the street. I can't remember exactly how much it was but I want to say about $15-20? It was directly across from the Med school and super convenient!

As I scroll back it does not look like Temple has rejected anyone yet.

Sorry if this has already been asked but I interviewed on November 27th and still have not heard back. My status on the portal is "interview complete." Does anyone know if that will change when they mail out the letter? Or should I keep checking the mail and not worry about the portal status anymore? They told us we would hear back at "the beginning of January." Getting anxious haha

My understanding is that status doesn't actually change until you get an acceptance. If you're on the CCL, the status stays the same. Don't know about rejections, doesn't seem like anyone here got a post-interview rejection.

I interviewed mid-November and my status says the same. As far as I know, no one from my interview date has heard yet either.

anyone know if it matters whether you send in updates (I am on the CCL) via the portal or email?

Has anyone called/emailed to inquire about CCL/rejection? Has anyone even been rejected Post Interview? Starting to see my CCL as meaning nothing

Called Temple, they said a committee meeting was last Friday and they haven't gotten to everyone or something.

To be honest, I'm starting to dislike Temple.

Did you get the impression they are mailing out the decisions for those they did get to soon?

I didn't get any impression of when they were going to mail or give decisions. I am in the dark as you are. I called almost a week ago and I'd love it if someone else would also call soon to see what was going on.

I interviewed in mid November and was told I'd hear back "before the holidays." I called the office last week and they said there was a meeting Friday 1/15 and that hopefully I'd be presented at this meeting. She explained they were closed over the break (duh...so don't tell me I'd hear before the holiday break) and so they didn't get to my app yet. Called today because still no word and she said it just depends whenever my interviewer shows up to the meeting to present me which is a little crazy. Fingers crossed for the meeting this Friday....

Do you think there is a chance they havnt released the results yet for people they discussed on 1/15? Has anyone heard back after 1/15?

Really?

I wonder what is going on because at this point I don't know if

1) I was waitlisted and the letter got lost in the mail

2)I was rejected and Temple doesn't want to send rejection

3) No one got to my file yet

4) My interviewer never came tothe meeting

5) my decision is in the works

And this is a big problem for me b/c Temple is IS, cheap, and I'd like to be in Philly. So, if I knew what was going on with Temple I would know whether I need to keep going to some interviews or whether I can withdraw and let other people have the spots.

Not cool Temple.:sour:

I suggest calling! The lady on the phone was very nice and apologetic that I have not heard back yet and she straight up told me that my interviewer just hasn't shown up to present me yet. Don't make yourself crazy with speculating what happened lol just call and ask nicely!

I may do so. i guess.

I'm interpreting my CCL as a rejection. Seems like essentially no one is pulled off the waitlist (in previous years) and it seems like no one is rejected. Who knows though. At least a few people were pulled off last year.

They told me at my interview that last year they over accepted and barely took people off the CCL and didn't want to do that again this year. So probably why less acceptances/more CCLs right now. So hopefully a lot more CCL movement this year

Yea I think this is much more accurate just seems like soooo many CCLs.

The part that confuses me is it seems like no one is rejected post-interview. It seems like everyone is put on the CCL.

Also, looking on MSAR, it seems like post-interview, Temple gives huge in-state preference. I didn't even know that Temple was a state school when I applied
