This school was the first to give me love this cycle: II 9/16, scheduled for 10/21-10/22

I was also wondering about this, thank you for providing such a succint answer! Tickets to fly directly to the Easterwood Airport are more expensive by ~$100 but it saves you 3 hours of shuttle time from either Austin or Houston, I guess?

I drove in as it worked out cheaper for me to rent a car and fly to a larger airport.

Yes so far I've interviewed at Texas Tech HSC Lubbock. Haven't heard back from anyone else yet. Hopefully you'll get an email soon.

Congratz on the quick turn around!

So im assuming most of the Texas schools are just spewing out II's for the high stat applicants right now. Anybody know when they will give love to the average applicants? Im right around matirculant average for most schools but no MD II. :-( and i was complete like late July

Same here! Avg stats, complete in late July. No love from any Texas school yet.
 
I had a low MCAT and high GPA, so I would say I had average stats. I was complete June 1st. I got a little love in the beginning with two ii's. I then heard back from one school in October, and then from A&M in December.

Moral of the story: just keep holding on 🙂

Can u share ur stats? Or at least ur LizzyM if u dont mind?

Ill try to keep holding on...but i dont know if i can stand anxiously checking my email notifications only to be disappointed. I need an email...i ..neeed it...just one man... ill do anything...i need it....*scratches neck*

I'm in the same boat as you lol. Transmitted late August but no IIs yet.

Lol you actually went ahead and said exactly what I've been feeling for weeks. I've calmed myself a lot though and I have actually started reading an interview prep book someone recommended. That way you have something to work towards lol.

Did anyone here stay at a current student's house for their interview? What was it like? Can I stay 3 nights?
 
Additionally, I'd like to be able to move around town/campus on my own. Does anyone know about the buses, shuttles, taxis, or rental cars there (Bryan/College Station)?

There are a few taxis, but uber would be your best bet.

I wouldn't bother with the buses.

Lol @ at shuttles in college station

And there is a hertz and probably someplace to rent a car at the airport, but I've never looked into

Plenty of students would be willing to house you for two days. Have you reached out to administration yet? They typically set up these things. If you can't work something out, PM me.

Aug 13th, I was a combat medic in the army for 6 years and I did volunteer work across Horn of Africa and parts of Central africa. While over there I shadowed and worked with PAs and Doctors.

Also I am not URM

In the past Texas A&M has gone out with interviewing in January, is this not the case this year as well?

Also, how long in advance does Texas A&M send IIs to applicants? The reason I ask is I haven't received any IIs so far and I believe I have decent stats for it (3.9/31); I would want to write Letters and send them to Admissions Deans and do whatever to maximize my chances of receiving an II and wanted to know when I should be looking to start this.

Not sure about the January interviews, but they asked for volunteers on interview days and the dates listed ended in mid December.
I can't answer your second question because that was too long ago for me to remember. Interview invites keep going out October, November, and even December for all schools. IMO, if you still haven't gotten any interview invites by sometime in November then send the admissions staff of the schools an update letter or letter of interest.

I'm 99% sure interviews are given out till January, since the parking permit they sent out to the interviewees are valid every Thursday until January 21, 2016.

my friend submitted 6 days ago and got an II today for near end of october... so time does not matter as much as sheer luck I'm starting to think. Don't stress too much everything will work out for all of us hopefully!

If you are interested, you can go to the tmdsas website and read the instructions manual written for admissions offices on how to use their TMDSAS portal. It gives a little bit of insight into how it all appears from their end. Basically, It's just like a spreadsheet and I would bet a lot of money that just about everyone of these offices starts each day they download new apps by clicking to sort by gpa and MCAT composite. With that in mind, if you have killer stats, you are always going to pop up at the top of the list, regardless of when you submit your app. There are other things too though. Was your friend a Native American by chance?

what are my chances of getting a II here with 3.6 gpa 31 mcat and Texas A&M undergrad? I was complete in early june too

Your stats are on par with their averages should receive news soon. I am awaiting my first II too from anyone. 3.9/31 here.
