Mine was green immediately after I submitted. Maybe it's just taking them more time to complete files?
It is actually from the sequel to Anne of Green Gables- Anne of Avonlea! That book series is tied with HP for my favorite and honestly Gilbert Blythe is one of my greatest inspirations and probably put me on the path to wanting to be a doctor when I was 10-11 and read the books for the first time.@chocoholicsoxfan just noticed that quote under your name. that is incredibly awesome. what's that from?

Yeah. So sad when the actor who played him in the movie died this year due to a brain aneurysm. He was only in his early 40s 🙁Gilbert was hot lol

Lol but seriously my relationship goals are just to find a Gilbert. Impossible, I know.
You talked to them? But on the portal, it saysFor the people in my boat (No complete email, red exclamation point): you're fine. I called this morning and was told my application is complete but has not yet gone to committee.
Oh yeah,it sure as hell discouraged me, though I only submitted on the 10th. I was just worried that they would be angry though.A call is warranted when you think there may be an error with your application (E.g. no complete email despite submitting 2+ weeks ago). I believe that text is discouraging people from calling to find out their admission status.
Did you receive an email that it was being reviewed/green? Or were you checking it manually? So the green mark "in progress" means being currently reviewed then? Lol
I received an actual e-mail a minute after I submitted my app. Couple days later, the red mark changed into green mark. So the completion e-mail doesn't necessarily means that you have the "green" in progress mark. I guess, it's a mystery to all of us. lolDid you receive an email that it was being reviewed/green? Or were you checking it manually?
I was under the impression that going green without an II was that you didn't get an interview on the first pass.
This is just my guess based on me not getting an II and when I submitted/turned green.
I still don't have a green check next to the "in progress" areaThis seems likely, although no one was reported any new IIs since the 14th, and since we all changed to a green check mark on the 21st, it stands to reason that someone should have received an II on the 21st. So either no one here got an II or they didn't send any new ones out this week. Who knows!
I'm in the same boat. I completed mine on the 13th, so let's be optimistic!I still don't have a green check next to the "in progress" area![]()
Haha I'm sure we're okay. I'm closing in on finishing my secondaries so I've had more to time check on the status of all my apps.I'm in the same boat. I completed mine on the 13th, so let's be optimistic!
I'm going to guess they don't seeing as it's early even for II. But I don't have much to back that up hahaDo they even do rejections at this time?

Are they looking specifically for things that you've accomplished? Or can they be just things you enjoy but don't have any achievements in? For example, I like playing the piano, but I haven't played in any competitions. I also like lifting weights, but I've never competed in powerlifting competitions. Can I talk about these things even if I haven't won any achievements in them?
I think so, yes! I believe that the point of a question like this is to see if you are an interesting person or just an academic robot who only knows how to study. If a fellow medical student wanted to relax by trying out some new hobby, what would you be able to introduce them to? Piano and weightlifting sound great. Go for it!
Ok, thanks! Is it better to list three things and describe them briefly, or list three things and go into depth on one of them. I have a somewhat unique hobby that I could describe in-depth. The hobby is fish keeping. I could talk about how it inspired my interest in biology, how I learned about ecosystems, species of fish and aquatic plants, etc. and that this is a hobby that has followed me throughout my life. I feel like it is more unique than piano and weight lifting, too.

Oops. I took the prompt completely literally and just wrote a list of hobbies and interests (basically a series of short bullet points). Didn't realize it would probably be better to actually describe the things I listed...
No one here is any more enlightened than anyone else. I'm sure whatever you did is fine. If you answered the question the way it was asked, then you have nothing to worry about.hmm. if the prompt says list, and applicants get flagged for not going into detail...thats just a bit deceiving...
I love aquariums too. I wrote about that in the hobbies section. I have a dirted tank now that's raging with plants! Also I am trying to breed some blue rams and to build a jelly fish tank. I have so many tanks spread out through my living room. I'm also part of the local aquarium society of my city😉. Cool to know that there are other fellow aquarists out there.
I'm not quite that involved in the hobby! I just have one planted tank going right now due to space limitations, but love to keep learning. 🙂
I ended up listing three of my hobbies and writing two or three sentences about why it's important to me. Hopefully this is ok!
Nothing reported since 7/17.No II's lately?
There was one on 7/17.Nothing reported since 7/14.
Sorry that's what I meant.There was one on 7/17.
Does anyone know if Tulane autorejcts anyone with <31 MCAT. I have a 30 and I really love NOLA, but I don't want to just throw $125 away
Ahhh my secondary now says in progress on the status page. I don't remember it saying that last time I checked. Have other people's said that for a long time?
