I'm actually surprised at the schools that did give me secondaries vs the ones that didn't (out of the UCs anyway), because I thought the more service-oriented schools would be more into me..
 
Just submitted my app...this application portal is frustrating. Can't save unless you write something in the essay spaces, and the submit application button wouldn't show up unless I wrote something substantial in the optional "elements of your app that might be concerning" form. Even writing "N/A" didn't suffice! Anyone else have this problem? I was finally able to submit after filling the form with a bunch of spaces to take up characters. I suspect this might be a problem on my end if no one else has noticed how difficult it is to navigate this application.
 
Added davis on monday, got their secondary today 😀.

Is this question on the secondary mandatory:

1. Discuss any elements of your application that you feel might be concerning to the Admissions Committee.

I feel really weird not answering it, but i dont have any concerning grades or scores.... Should I write about my first mcat score? Even though I retook it and improved where I was lacking? Thoughts?

I've got secondaries from every UC except UCD...
Anyone else out there? UCD is the only school out of all of mine that I haven't received a secondary from...

It's UCD and UCLA for me. -_- my stats are pretty much in line with UCD and I'm service oriented too so I'm a bit worried 🙁

And ucla is my alma mater! Come on 😛

If it was a pretty big jump or your first score was low, this would be a great opportunity up-play how you improved your study habit and that this is demonstrated through your second MCAT!
 
Verified 7/16, got an 'application received' email simultaneously with the secondary. 4am PST lol (IS)

Same deal for me. Maybe their adcom meets on Thursdays or something.
 
For the Davis course pre-requisites, are we supposed to enter only the exact amount for the 8 semester hours, or can we put in extra upper division courses? Some schools ONLY want the required pre-reqs, but I'd rather list some upper div classes that I got better grades in... thoughts?
 
Sorry if this has been asked before. I submitted my LORs to AMCAS via Interfolio yesterday, and today AMCAS received it. But should I submit my secondary to UCDavis now or wait until UCD's secondary app says they have received it ? (they say it is a manual process, and it it will take a few days)

For other schools, if they don't say their LOR process is a manual process like Davis's is, does it mean that they get LORs automatically ?

I guess my main concern is that should I submit my secondaries now, or should I wait a couple of days more.....

Usually the school doesn't pull your LORs from AMCAS until after you submit your secondary. Even then, some schools pull them immediately and some take their time. So I guess it doesn't hurt to send UCD your LORs for now.
 
Secondary received this morning!

In-state, LizzyM <70, received at same time as the email acknowledging receipt of my app.

Mine took almost a week to show up on there if that helps
 
No secondary yet! LizzyM=74 (3.7, 37MCAT)
Got a secondary from UCLA, UCSD, UCI, waiting on UCD and UCSF (my top choice!)
 
Got a "complete" e-mail yesterday roughly a week after submitting the secondary
 
For experiences, are you guys copy+pasting both the description and the meaningful part, and then tweaking it after that?
Also, they ask for exact days, is it okay to guess?
Not sure about which day exactly my internship began or ended, for instance.

EDIT: I'm getting paranoid about exact hours now too.
Should I stay consistent with my primary, or actually make some calls and get exact dates and total hours?

Almost done, one more experience to go.

Word of advice to those that haven't started: just start from scratch for your meaningful experiences. It's 750 char, which is like nothing, and with such a tight restriction, you'll spend more time struggling to retool your writing to fit and to answer the question, while risking pointless repetition and sounding forced.

The prompts are on the second post of the first page (Discuss any elements... (500 characters), What have you been doing since submitting... (500 characters), and the three experiences (750 characters)).
 
No secondary here... verified 6/17, and I have secondaries from Riverside and SD but not from here, Irvine, LA, or SF. Frustrating.
 
On that note...does anyone know when UCD sends out secondaries until? I was checking last year's thread, and it seems like past the end of July, secondaries weren't awarded anymore? If so, I'm probably out of the game for this one 🙁
 
Verified June 2nd, I've gotten a secondary from every UC, including UCSF, but nothing form Davis yet -_- IS, LizzyM 73.
 
@CCMDOC9254 I don't have UCLA, UCSF, or UCR (yet, perhaps?). I can't quite figure out the UCs.

I hope you get some love from Davis soon!
 
Hoping for a secondary from here, it's one of my favorites, but we'll see. This thread isn't giving me much hope, I'm not verified yet :-(
 
I hope for a secondary too... I really like this school! Should I bother giving them a call if August comes and still no secondary? (I was verified a while ago and got notice of receipt of my primary application around 2 weeks ago)

I'm sorely tempted to do that, but I feel like it'll do more harm than good. I'm just going to hope I'm not rejected, but as August creeps closer I'm losing hope for both UCD and UCLA.
 
I haven't received secondaries yet from UCD and UCLA. I'm more concerned about UCD since my numbers match their statistics while UCLA is a reach. Sigh, I'm also tempted to call....

Twinsies! Did you get the other UCs? I did...and the fact that most people barely get CA MD IIs makes me worry that I don't at least have all the secondaries checked off before I get rejected.
 
secondaries from all uc's except sf...but still no II from davis. :/

Yep, we're exactly the same lol, I got secondaries from all the other UCs. I feel weird calling because I don't want to come off as if I assumed I would be getting one since I received the other 🙁 And I read on their portal that even if we call, the admissions people can only see what is updated there too.
