Okay.
NOW I can ragequit!
+pissed+

EDIT: This is just hearsay from a previous year's thread, but committee meetings are apparently every other Tuesday. I hope this doesn't mean what I think it does! Did they say when, approximately, the decision might come?

Yeah I just called as well, she said it could take up to eight weeks.

I wonder why they specifically told us on 9/30 that we would be notified of a decision on the 15th, even going so far as to specify that it would be later in the day. I also wonder why when Lannister called yesterday they told him if you interviewed in September you would find out yesterday.

What is going on????? I hate to throw a wrench into the theories here but I interviewed on 9/2 and nothing yet.... whyyyyyy

I'm pretty sure this year they have committee meetings every other Monday. On my interview date I was told four weeks was the ABSOLUTE longest we would have to wait for a decision but likely around two weeks. Very strange that 9/30 hasn't gone to committee yet. Also I think the every other Monday adcom meeting happens again this upcoming Monday.

That sounds right. Now that I think about it, I also remember being told to make sure to submit any update letters ASAP ("few days") after the interview on 9/30 because the adcom was going to meet at that time.

Hmm. Does anyone have any idea how long it usually takes (either at Cincinnati or at any school) to release decisions after a committee meeting? I'm also being reviewed on Monday at another school and wondering if I might hear by Friday...

Yes. Specifically, they said three days...
WHAT? Three days?!?
But they haven't met yet after 2 weeks and 3 days?... Right?
Hmmm.

Yes, on 9/30 (a Wednesday) they said they would be reviewing applications the following Monday, on (10/5) and they said we would NOT be reviewed then, but the following review session. If it's true that they meet every two weeks, then they wouldn't review us until 10/19. So why would they say we'd get our decisions on the 15th??

The question that always gets asked but never gets answered...
My advice: the review process is often very randumb. Try not to read too deeply into silences if you value your precious sanity.

Hope I helped!...
...
Pffft, who am I kidding?

That did help, thanks lol. I am trying to put it out of my mind now and hope for the best. Maybe call next week if still nothing.

Okay, that would make a lot of sense. Except for the part that they said you would get the decision on the 15th. I would guess you will get your decision middle of next week then.

I know it's crazy haha. I think the three day rule is because they quickly give your file to a couple people on the adcom who thoroughly review your file and write up a comprehensive report as to who you are and basically why you should or maybe shouldn't be admitted. This is then presented to the entire committee. I think they just want to give those people enough time to collect all of the data.

Anyways, I hope they go over the people who interviewed on 10/7 at the meeting on the 19th as well.

You think the turnaround time would be that fast? I was hoping to hear by next Friday but I was thinking maybe that's too optimistic.

Well they would have an actual decision on Monday. All they have to do is update the portal. I know other schools say they notify the applicants the same day or day after the adcom meeting but maybe cinci takes a little longer.

OH GOD. The same day!? Oh God. I'm not ready to hear from Case yet, Monday is too soon!

So the committee meets every Tuesday? 10/7 interviewers would hear 10/21?

Interviewing here later this week! Kinda nervous about MMI. Someone tell me it's super chill and I don't need to prepare for it lol.

And I hope those of you waiting for decisions hear some good news this week 🙂

Hello, SDN.
For those of us who interviewed on 9/30 (and possibly 10/7): I contacted admissions, and they told me to expect decisions "within the next week."
This seems to imply that we won't be hearing back today. So, in case you were worried about that, you can let it off your mind for a couple days...
I hope that reduces some worries!... and the amount of time spent refreshing Med9001Stop today.
(As an aside, they also said to expect an email when the status page is updated... I dunno, is that right? I thought people who got their decisions last week didn't get an email notification.)

lol bummer!

There are events that are impossible.
And there are events that are improbable.
Many assume that the improbable is impossible.
But remember that the once-in-a-million-years has happened thousands of times by now.
And remember that the once-in-a-lifetime will surely happen in your lifetime.
And know that miracles... DO... happen.

Do you all know where I'm going with this?
Well, neither do I.
I hope we all get an "ACCEPTED!!!" decision today.
...
Sorry, couldn't resist.

Dude I saw the "ACCEPTED!!!" and I had a small heart attack lol

Did anyone include extra information when confirming their interview?
Yeah. I think it was mainly stuff that you've done since you applied, and haven't really had the chance to talk about it before.
For example, you might have gotten a job last month, etc.
Oh!
And what you did to prepare for the MCAT.

Just be yourself. Honestly, the MMI is nothing to worry about. You will go in knowing exactly what to expect.
Yup, that's right.

The only thing I didn't expect was the magnetic name tag.
I think my suit was too thick for it?
Watch. I'm gonna get rejected because my name tag was probably upside-down in half of the stations, lol.

Omg I kept flinging it off whenever I tried to speak with my hands, so annoying.

I just wanna hear back The anxiety is killing me!! Interviewed 10/7!

Ohhh, UC, pleeeez, let it stop!
The wait!
It burrrns!
...
Darn.
I thought they were gonna get back to us today for sure.
Well, hopefully tomorrow will be a better day for my stomach ulcers.
Agh, another school promised me a decision tomorrow morning...
They'd better not wink the hood on me.

Hi everyone!

I interviewed 9/30 and still haven't gotten any word. I did call a little earlier though, and it seems like it may possibly take upto another week.

I hope we all get some good news though. I really love the school, so fingers crossed!

Is this a joke? They said 9/30 people would hear this week...

Apparently the joke was that when they said "within the next week" in their email, they meant "within next week".
...
Lol, that isn't funny.
...
Wait!...

Yeah they should really just say "you'll find out when you'll find out", rather than giving false info.
They most certainly did not tell me 2 weeks for sure. It was really clear that, per aamc policy, the earliest notification could be 10/15 but it may take up to 4 weeks. I was told (with my group) that the longest we would wait would be Halloween.

But I am also anxious AF about this. Hoping we hear before the weekend.

When did you interview

I interviewed on 9/30 and the lady told us specifically that we would hear on the 15th, which we did not.

I would've been perfectly happy not knowing till Halloween or even later, I'm just a little peeved because they told us we would know sooner. If they hadn't said anything, it'd be fine.

10/7 won't hear for another 2 weeks
ANOTHER two weeks? Oh dear...
Well, despite their enticing promises of quick decisions, they DID say that it could take up to four weeks. It's looking to be the same deal with us 9/30 peeps.
