me too 🙁

I hope this is either a glitch or positive news because I was about to be depressed 🙁.

Edit: the username and password the school of medicine gave us doesn't work, and there's no way to reset the password.

i know what the hell is this. did anyone who already got accepted get this?

has anyone gotten a site preference card? my thing says you have to send it by nov 11? but the other paper says you will receive it in a month...

actually it might have been blue.
if you live near, I would visit the admissions office and get one in person.
I live near the admissions office. NEW PLAN: Even though I've been "in progress" since the Truman administration, maybe I can just waltz on into the admissions office and ask for a card, and if I'm confident enough they'll assume I was accepted. Then I'll begin a four year game of cat and mouse with the UIC faculty and eventually sneak my way into a degree.

Very Frank Abagnale-esque! maybe you could get law degree while you're at it too.

I like the way you think. And if this plan doesn't work I'll just have my mom write a strongly worded letter to the admissions committee. Maybe get an LOR from my cousin once-removed who's a chiropractor, which is basically an MD!

Lol. I signed into the portal with the intent to check my status, but after signing in I got distracted and didn't come back to the portal till like 30 minutes later. When I pressed the "next" button to go to the status page, I got a message saying "Your session has expired". But I thought it said "Your application has expired". I was like O.O ...Rudest.rejection.ever.

I have had the "applicant in progress" status for quite some time. I submitted the secondary in early August. Does this mean I have been bypassed? How long do people typically wait from this status until hearing anything? Thanks!

The good news is that people have historically had that status for many months and gotten interviews in December-February. The other good news is that uiuc does do rejections, so no news is not synonymous with rejection. But obviously it's not the most desired situation.

Thank you! I got scared it meant I wasn't even complete.

Hi everyone,

I have an interview coming up in Chicago, and was wondering if some of you could share your experiences. Is there a particular type of interview they engage in? What was the stress level? Any tips?

Also, for those interested. I'm IS, submitted secondary late august, received my II late september, LizzyM=70.

Thank you!

You interview with 3 people for 30 minutes each. They can be students and administrators/admissions office people. It's very conversational and laid back. I had all students so it was very stress-free and they simply asked me about my experiences. I don't remember them having anything except your essays

Accepted as well!! My status still says "Decision pending" but I got the package in the mail. Interviewed on 9/23

Still nothing for me, who could've guessed that my own state school wouldn't give me an II? 🙁

has anyone gotten their site preferences back? how do they determine it??

I have an interview in a few days but have not gotten an email with a reminder or any additional information. Is anyone else with an upcoming interview in the same boat? Should I be concerned?

Thanks!

I got my interview reminder email 4 days before the interview. In case you haven't seen it (and don't get a confirmation email for some reason), here's a link with info about the interview day at each of the locations:

At least I'm in process lol. But I was in progress from late July-October and then switched to in process like a month ago.

I talked to someone at the admissions office who said there's no difference between progress and process.

I can't believe I've gotten to the point where in questioning the semantics of one letter.

I think they try to give you your first preference. Because you got in so early, you have a really good shot of getting Chicago.
Also, I was able to see my site placement on the portal. Did you get an email about making login for my.uic?
yeah! where on your portal do you see it? I cant find it?

I spoke with someone in admissions yesterday who told me that there is in fact a progression from progress to process. I was complete early September and she told me that she would be surprised if I did not hear back or see a change by early december.

I am in state.

War is peace, up is down, black is white. I don't know what to expect from this whole nightmare anymore. I think when two people from the same school tell us conflicting things about their own admissions process it's time to resign myself to whatever fate has ordained.

I was complete late August so I'm probably in a similar boat? At least it will be good to hear something, even if it's rejection.

Does anyone else find this processes of scheduling interviews incredibly archaic? Every other school has an automatic system and what you see is what you can sign up for. Their website showed multiple dates open in November and December and I called and it was full until late January... Also if you want to change your date you need to call admissions to even see what is available.
