It's frustrating seeing people who submit weeks after you get scored weeks earlier than you lol, doesn't make much senseCrap. I just realized that I'm still not scored and it's December.

Agreed. Been complete since mid July. Definitely is upsetting seeing people complete in September get scored and offered II's before you.![]()
+1, complete early August and have not been scored yet
Guys. Calm. Down. There's. Still. Time. It honestly doesn't matter when you get scored or when you get the II. My class isn't just filled with people who were interviewed and accepted early - there are those of us who interviewed late, got accepted late, and even got off the waitlist (a ton of us actually). So go worry about something else - or actually, go do something fun and not worry about anything lol
Nice^Ace Khalifa...Always On Time (cue the Ja Rule).
Thanks! I'm really excited, especially since I was complete so late 🙂
Any tips for accommodations? Is the MIA airport the best? Will I need a hotel or can I stay with a student?

Doesn't matter. If the committee deems you worthy enough for an interview, you will get an interview, regardless of completion date. There are many factors that go into that, and it's out of your control now. That's why I said don't worry about it. In med school, you'll see people who study less than you but also score higher on exams than you. Are you gonna worry incessantly about that too? Just do you - don't worry about everyone else. If you follow this advice now, it'll pay dividends later down the road, trust me.But we don't know their completion date. As far as we know they could have submitted late which could have resulted in their interviewing late etc.

This is the standard at a lot of schools, I'm sure. Mine isn't terribly great with efficiency, but you WILL hear back from them eventually, no matter what the result is.I just don't understand why people aren't scored in the order they are received. Granted there are various factors, some I'm sure I'm not even aware of, but it just doesn't make sense that this seems like the standard, and not the exception to the rule.
Has anyone been able to submit their deposit?????
II today OOS. LizzyM low 70s. I thought I had been tossed to the side because I was complete like 2 days after the secondary went out.
I have no idea. I had pretty much given up so I wasn't checking it. I think I checked it two or three weeks ago and didn't see anything about being scored though.Congrats! Gives me hope. Haha. Do you know when you were scored?
Dec 9Hey people , when is next decision date?
My acceptance letter said it would be possible to submit the deposit starting Dec. 1stI thought the deposit wasnt until April30th-May 15th?
This may be a dumb question, but I couldn't find the info in previous posts or on any of the UM websites. How are the interviews conducted for both the MD and the MD/MPH? From the interview schedule, it seemed to point towards a single interview/tour/info session on one day, and then just a tour/info session on the second day for the regional campus? But in the II email and the status page, it seems to suggest that there are two interviews? It just confused me because I thought that the two programs had completely separate admissions considerations. Any help would be appreciated! 😀
Thank you so much! So I guess I won't know until the day of, which day I'll get 😛I was confused too, but I interviewed for both programs a few weeks back. So the first day was on the Miami campus, and some people who were MD/MPH (or also both) as well as all MD only students interviewed that day. There were three of us, including myself, who actually had their interview the next day at the Palm Beach campus. So the first day we just went on a two hour tour instead of one hour while the other candidates interviewed. You'll get a personalized itinerary when you arrive though, but it's just one roughly one hour long interview at either the Miami or Palm Beach campus! Hope that helps 🙂
"A final decision has been reached" status change this morning. Good luck to everyone else hearing back this week!![]()
Same here! Do you know if they'll be calling only on Wednesday or throughout the week? Just curious and anxious lol.
We call on the day only. Emails go out that night. Official acceptance letters mailed out the next day.I think acceptance calls are just on Wednesday evening, and then there are emails later for applicants that are put on the waitlist for this round.
Congrats! Gives me hope. Haha. Do you know when you were scored?
How is it your top choice if you don't know its strengths??Hey all! So I recently got invited to an interview here 🙂 (both MD & MD/MPH). This is my top-choice institution and I'm really, really excited for the interview. I'm an OOS student (from NY) and I was wondering if anyone knowledgeable of the area and school could tell me a bit about what life is like at University of Miami. More specifically, I'm trying to get a sense of the school's culture, housing available to students, the school's strengths and weaknesses, and life in that area of Miami. Thanks and any information is appreciated! Good luck to everyone, and congrats to those who have gotten an interview and/or who have been accepted!
I cringe so hard when I read your postsHow is it your top choice if you don't know its strengths??

Well, interview day is when you'll have more than enough time to get that info from current students there. That's what the interview is for. Seriously though, I myself can tell you what my top choice is and why - it's annoying when people throw that phrase out and are then like "now give me reasons this is my top choice, please."I know a lot about the school- I was just looking for some more information/a perspective that others may have who attend the school. But thanks for the constructive response!

Strengths: It's in the middle of one of the most diverse areas and, as some of the students told me, you will see things at the hospitals that you won't see anywhere else. Excellent research. And, on the more casual side, you will never run out of things to do in Miami.Hey all! So I recently got invited to an interview here 🙂 (both MD & MD/MPH). Weaknesses: it is 85-100 degrees for 9 months of the year and 65-80 for the other 3 months, so if you don't like hot weather then this is something to consider. Otherwise no glaring weaknesses that I noticed.
Good luck!
