I also interviewed on September 1st! This whole phone call thing has been driving me nuts, the silence yesterday and today has been deafening lol.

Thought you might have! haha. This silence is the worst.... These have been the only days I haven't wanted to see an email in my inbox... Did you hear back from any of your other interviews yet?

Nope, I've been waiting for two phone calls and an email from one school. Haven't received any yet haha!

Triple the silence! Ah! Well your odds at happy news seem good! Good luck and let us know when you hear back from UMD!

I am trying to plan out when I might have to use my vacation days to attend the UMN's interview day. Could anyone that recently got an II indicate how far in advance the interviews are scheduled for? Considering @Ochemphd and @Doctor Fly have waited at least 3 weeks to get their date confirmation, I presume at least 5 weeks in advance. Are they at December of January interview dates? Thank you in advance for any information.

Same here, and at twin cities, people who interviewed after me got acceptances by phone. I'm thinking we both got either waitlisted or rejected post-interview at twin cities 🙁.

Well shucks, did they tell you that they got accepted? Otherwise it's possible it might just take awhile.

Where in the world did you get the idea that the call sheets were in order of interview date? Doesn't it make much more sense that they would be in alphabetical order, or in order of AMCAS ID? Don't panic people unnecessarily.

I interviewed before 9/11, and people who interviewed afterwards posted here and got accepted. It may take a while, but usually at most schools people who get accepted get called during a certain time frame, and everyone else who didnt is waitlisted/rejected and gets that notice later

See above. I hope you're right, but I'm not panicking people unnecessarily, I'm giving my thoughts based off of what I've experienced in this process. They could do it any way which way, but the way i shared is the most common. It's important to be realistic and prepare for the worst too.

Tough call. They did the same thing to me. Things to consider: your stats, some people had much faster turnarounds then you, many people had the same turnaround time, people have already been accepted into MN, don't know unless you try.

Personally, I made the donation.
I have lower stats than their incoming class...

I finally got my interview confirmation yesterday @DrFry100 . I think it might take them 3-4 weeks for planning it out. My II is for Nov 11th so I'm assuming they're probably in Jan/Feb by now?

Btw congrats to the people who already got accepted!

Do these guys send out pre-interview invite rejections or do you just have to wait out the entire cycle to find out? I remember earlier in this thread people saying that they were rejected.

You will be rejected, if that happens to be the case, once your application has completed processing. You should not have to wait until the end of the cycle. This was at least my experience the first time I applied here a couple cycles ago.

Congrats! Received an email today that I am in the "acceptable" category and will be placed on a waitlist.
Which I'm sure will turn into an acceptance for ya! You've got several of leads and I have no doubt that you'll end up accepted to multiple schools 🙂

Should've posted this earlier...

Accepted! Got the phone call Thursday afternoon.

Stats
IS
c/sGPA: ~3.5
MCAT: 33
Interview: 8/31

Dean Patel said quite a bit during her phone call, but the whole phone call is kind of a blur. If anyone remembers better or has a voice mail, could you please relay everything she said, I would greatly appreciate it.

Congrats! When did you submitted you secondary if you don't mind. Thanks.

Has anyone who applied to Duluth (especially in-state folks!) in September heard back with an interview invitation or rejection?

Thanks!

Congrats to everyone that has been accepted! Does anyone know if they accept updates pre-interview? Not a letter of intent, just an update. Thanks!

I am an out-of-state student, and my secondary application has been submitted on 10/15. Just to get a general idea:
----Can any OOS (stats please) tell me how long it took for their application status to change?
----Any OOS have experience (with stats please) of the longest they had to wait for an interview invite after that change?

Most interviews so far are coming between 1 and 2 months after being complete from what I can tell but this could change as it becomes later in the cycle. Mine came 1 month after secondary submission with a LizzyM of 76. I do not know when my portal updated but I think it was within a few days. An email said to allow 2 business days for fee status to be updated. Good luck!

Hi all, first time poster on this website. I received a rejection letter, post interview, via e-mail today at 4:44pm. Looks like the first rejection post interview. I am sad.

Obligatory stats:
3.96 Post-baccalaureate science GPA, 3.52 Overall GPA, 33 MCAT, In-state
Primary Complete 06/02
Secondary Complete 07/17
II Invitation 08/07
Interview 09/03

Last year it took me 56 days from the day I was complete to receive a rejection. This year I'm currently sitting at 49, so if I get the axe next week, you'll at least know that OOS with LizzyM~70 take about 8 weeks to get dumped.

All the dates offered to me in the email today were in November. The latest was 11/30. Hope that answered your question?

Your stats look above avg for the school. What do you think happened? I am also waiting for a response

II this morning! IS with stats similar to UMN TC average. Getting secondary took 3 weeks and getting II took another 7 weeks ( I got it, so I ain't complaining).

Could anyone that already interviewed state how many applicants there are on each interview date (based on the UMN's class, I'm thinking ~25-35), the interview format (number of interviewers [2 or 3?] , type of interviewer [staff, faculty, or student?], and how much access each interviewer has to the student's application [fully blind, partially blind, or full access?]. Thank you in advance for any information!

My interview had ~15 other students but there were 1-2 no shows. There are 2 interviews you'll do (almost) first thing in the morning with a small break in between. Mine was 2 faculty, but other interviewees had 1 faculty and 1 student. Interviews were open file except the interviewers did not have GPA/MCAT info. My first interviewer was extremely laid back and we just talked casually about my activities. Second interviewer was a little more rigid about getting through the "required" questions but was still very friendly and welcoming.

Hope this helps. Good luck!
