Accepted as well! Can't wait to meet all of you!
I think the paid thing is just a glitch. Mine still says not paid but I think that's because I hit accept and THEN paid so it didn't change. Either way I have the emailed receipt and my card was charged so no doubt it's paid.Anyone having trouble with the deposit area saying paid? I successfully paid through the other website, however, on the portal with the admissions offer page it still says not paid.
Also, to people deferred and waitlisted, I was in your boat last year. It sucks, but look at it as an opportunity to expand your experiences, both in life and for your future profession. Keep your heads up and you will do great.
For the short term I'd recommend emailing Dottie Shaw to find out where to get more information. I've looked myself online and didn't see anything substantive. I do think we find out more about this and other financial aid stuff when OU has a "second look" day for those who have been admitted, which is sometime in April or May I think.Does anyone know how to apply for scholarships, or when offers come out? I am out of state and I want to consider this school, but i need to know whether its possible for me to get enough scholarships to make it closer to in-state tuition. any info would be great!
There's also the option of scribing at any number of ERs in the metro area. I had my EMT license and ultimately ended up scribing, and think scribing is a superior experience. Plus you don't have to pay for any classes or certs for it. Think it gives you a better idea of being a physician than does being an EMT. However in a scribe capacity your patient contact is much more limited.3) lots of vo-tech schools around where you can get a CNA or EMT in just a few weeks. Only a couple hundred bucks , price of an MCAT. Then apply to one of the many urgent care clinics or ERs I got these certifications and worked in an urgent care for a few years in college as a clinical assistant. Gives you lots of perspective on medicine more than just shadowing. Got to assist with sutures , EKGs, injections, etc and lots of things to talk about them in interview.
Anyone get their letter in the mail yet? Been crazy with ice storms up here.
Also go OU 17-16 up on Clemson at half.
Classes end 16 DecemberDoes anyone know when the last day of classes/exams is for the 2016 fall semester?
Thanks!Classes end 16 December

Has anyone received their official letter of acceptance in the mail yet?
I have not
+1
But I think the packets might have just been sent after the holidays.
I think only 3 more left in january / the whole cycle including tomorrow, I could be wrongHow many interview dates are available for the spring?
To all those waiting - Good luck! And PM me if I can help in any way.
To those already accepted -
1)anyone know if and when webpage / Facebook being set up.
2) I just drove around last week looking at several appt options.
Talked to the guy at OU villages right by campus but he said wait list is super super long even putting in now for next year. He wasn't sure if he will have any open and if so how many. Still has people on wait year from a year ago that found other places but get first crack at any that open. Studio appt are especially back logged. Only chance he said was you find someone already in 2 bed townhouse that requests you specifically as a roommate and then you can bump up to front.
Also found a few other nice options within 15-35 min drive depending on traffic. Went by to see model and get info and amazingly a wait list on nicer ones too.
I'll probably go ahead and put in my papers for a nice place I found in next month or two.
**Anyone want to be a roommate? PM if interested and I'll give you details. Otherwise I think I'll spend a little extra for 1 bed.
Also FYI - lots of brand new construction across highway in Bricktown, Double Deuce, etc but WAY WAY expensive

I did not hear about how many spots were left. Dr. Baker did not mention this on interview day but I do remember my interviewer saying there are 165 spots total. I do not think the majority of those were filled so assuming you feel good about your interview and you're in-state, I'm sure you still have a good chance.Does anyone know about how spots are left to fill? I was deferred until February and just wondering my chances, thanks!!
I live in "The Links of Oklahoma City" and it is only about a 15 minute drive to get to class every morning! The Links is MUCH cheaper than anything that I could find downtown.
Try checking previous application threads for some info. I think I remember seeing some disputes on this subject though so I don't know how helpful this will be. It is possible they have changed the way they pull applicants off the waitlist too. I have not personally heard of any info for this cycle. If you have been defferred I think this is also different from the waitlist. I think your acceptance will be reconsidered with all the applicants who interviewed in January and you will hear back on your status mid February. Again I could be wrong on this too, this is just my understanding.Does anyone know how the waitlist is ranked?

Does anyone else not understand why the schools can't release the names of people and where they stand on the waiting list? It's not like people on the waiting list pay the school while they wait to hear back. It would make more sense if they just announced it and people could decide on future plans depending on whether they were top ten or bottom ten.Yeah unless things have changed (which I don't know for sure but I don't think they have), this is exactly correct. The deferred list is completely separate; there is no such thing as a wait list until all the interviews are done in January. Then there is the February status update, at which point you can either be accepted, rejected, or waitlisted. Once generated, the wait list rank is set in stone; your rank will not change. The first time an accepted student declines or withdraws, that spot will be offered to the person ranked first on the wait list, and so on. During my 2 cycles, I was told there are 60 people on the wait list (which may have increased by now), and on average about 30-40 get accepted off it, but obviously there are absolutely no guarantees that even 1 person will get off it.

If a 510 is equivalent to around a 30-31, do they prefer the 510? Just wondering if they give preference to the new or old mcat! Or neither.

If I had to guess, I'd think they'll be next Monday, or the Monday after that at the latest.Has anyone found out a more precise date of Feb decisions other than "around Valentine's Day?" I think someone found out Feb decisions were on the 24th last cycle but people heard back as soon as 2/6 which is way earlier.

I was told this too, but it wasn't a specific day before then. I think it was just a ballpark date. I also interviewed in january. My friend was told he would know before Valentine's Day. And he interviewed in January.
Has anyone reached out to see when we might hear back?
