So true!! I never got a single email or status update in the whole process (not even secondaries! got mine in like a day before my deadline)!! Even when I was accepted! Seriously, CHECK YOUR APP PAGE. I actually had to have them reinstate my application because it was automatically withdrawn after I didn't responded to an interview invite that I never received... And then I only found out about being accepted by refreshing the page every 4 minutes on the day it said decisions would go out in December. And even then it didn't change until like 2 days after the posted date (website said Dec 15th, it updated Dec 17th at ~8pm, and my interviewer emailed the next day). VCU nearly gave me a heart attack like 4 times in this process, so I wouldn't put anything past them.

Hello all! Does anyone know:

1. When financial aid packages are released?

2. The average aid the school gives to each student?
 
For those who interviewed already, did you stay with a student host? If you stayed at a hotel any recommendations?

1) first week of classes

2) you can take out upto ~$63k (in state), $81k (oos)

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express. There's a shuttle service that drops you off in front of the med school interview (4/5 minute drive). Just let them know 20 minutes before hand that you need a shuttle for X time. It was ~$100 with taxes and has free breakfast!
 
Received the "would like to consider your file further blah blah blah" status today. Complete late July or early August. I have not been keeping up with the crazy amount of posts on this thread so I'm afraid to ask what my chances are of getting an II at this point with this status.

A few of us who got the "may" or "further" status this month received an II within the next week. So it's possible but they only interview through the last week of February, so unfortunately chances are slim at this point.

Hi @mcatjelly, out of curiosity when did you receive the status update/II? Just wondering because I got the may status last week, but if the last II's are end of Feb then probably not much hope for me at this point.

I got the status update 1/8 and then the II 1/24. When I called soon after getting the "may" status the woman assured me that they wouldn't give you a status suggesting an II if there wasn't some chance that you'd end up getting one. So I hope you end up getting one!

had the "further review" 3rd priority status since the beginning of November... highly doubt there will be any chance to interview at this point.
 
Well... next week is theoretically the last week of interviews and I am still on further consideration... seems like I won't getting an interview this semester...

So disappointed that it took them 5.5 months to read my application, only to put me on a wait list fro an II and reject me in the near future... I feel ripped off.... I had so much prospects for this school too.

...but I can at least move on with ease...

I thought I remember the withdrawal button on the portal. I got a survey after I withdrew my acceptance, asking why I was withdrawing.
 
Just a heads up for the last batch of interviewees who want to stay with a host:

M2's are in crunch month for Boards and most likely will not be able to host you. Doesn't hurt to try, but a hotel would be a nice back-up.
 
havent gotten an email from them since early fall and now being considered further for an interview. read this page and are they only interviewing for the rest of next week or scheduling interviews for one more week? if theyre only interviewing for one more week it seems ridiculous to even get an update now.

what do you mean considered for an interview? as in you got an II or an email about status update?

Edit: Oh you mean the "may" status
 
Anyone who interviewed want to share their impression of the day? Also any recommendations of places to eat/things to see in Richmond?

So confused. I just got a "The committee's file review indicates that they would like to consider your file further," but they end interviews in a week... Blue balling to the max.
 
Got an email on Friday evening with a status change for II, nothing available in portal so I had to call- admissions says the last interview day is thursday 3/3, best of luck to all waiting!!
 
I believe that today is the last week of IIs or maybe it was mid march... irregardless, I feel dejected from all that work and effort for absolutely nothing...:astronaut:

Just to clarify, did you mean that this week is the last week for interviews or invites?
 
Did people receive this message post-interview before being accepted or did people just receive a straightforward acceptance?

The Admissions Committee has met to discuss your file. Your application is being placed on hold for possible acceptance at a later date. We anticipate making offers around October 16, December 15, February 1, and March 16. If any of these dates falls on a weekend the offers will be made on the following Monday. Only offers of admission will be made on the dates above.
 
I *just* got the "would like to consider your file farther" status update (was complete some time in August). Don't interviews end in a couple days?

Just got the "further" status. Confused - aren't II done by now?
