Anyone know what the post interview acceptance rate is here? (Sorry if it's already been stated, tried looking and couldn't find it)

FYI complete date has no impact on IIs or review. I was complete in August and interviewed 9/30. Just to try to give you all some peace of mind 🙂

You actually got an email?! I never got one saying I was reviewed and on hold. Just saw a status change 🙁.

I think I got an email? I can't find it now lol but I went through my old posts on this thread and apparently I received something on 10/1 😛

For those that are on the wait list right now, when will we find out further news? Sorry if this has been answered already. Will we get updates monthly? Thanks!

Just scheduled my interview for 11/18!
For anyone that has already interviewed, is the MMI the only interview that is done or is there also an individual / group interview?
How did you feel about the interview day overall?

Congrats! They use a group exercise where they evaluate you, MMI stations, and one-on-one interviews with current medical students. It is quite a long day but it's not as bad as it sounds. I thought it was a great overall experience, definitely not as stressful as I anticipated, and I loved the school!

do they at least provide coffee to get through all of that lol

Lol no they didn't, but funny you asked because I wrote on their feedback form that they really should. I could've used some halfway through!

I'll shoot Lyman (one of the ADCOM's) an email for ya'll and request it for next interview day at lunch time... I don't think he watches SDN, lol.

Coffee is always the answer... Always. 😉

For those of you who got II: How long were you on the hold status before you got one? I saw some people say 1-3 weeks but I am wondering if anyone's took longer.

Yeah I think mine took about 5 weeks so don't worry too much

Can anyone comment on what airport to fly into and how far the airport is from CMU? Please & thank you!

Four options for air travel:
  • Midland-Bay City-Saginaw (MBS), about 45 minutes east of CMED. Only served by Delta Connection and United Express regional air, so you'll have to connect flights, most likely through Minneapolis, Detroit or Chicago.
  • Capital Region (LAN), an hour south of CMED in Lansing. Mostly regional air, but American has a few nonstops to Washington-Reagan National (DCA) and United to Chicago O'Hare (ORD).
  • Flint Bishop (FNT) is about 1h15m southeast, with similar flight options to LAN.
  • Detroit Metro (DTW), 2h45m south-southeast. Hub airport for Delta, so you're likely to connect here if your final destination is any of the other three.
Hope this helps!

This is perfect! Thank you so much 🙂

Grand Rapids (cheaper; 1 hour 40 min)
Lansing (1 hour)

True. Connecting flights into MBS are rather pricey. Road-tripping from GRR or DTW is likely to be cheaper than flying into MBS, especially if you get a cheap or FF miles award fare, or you fly a budget carrier (Southwest flies into GRR, everybody flies into DTW). You'll have to rent a car in Midland anyway, and most car rentals are unlimited in-state mileage, so that's a wash.

Submitted secondary 3 months ago and review still isn't complete. This isn't funny anymore. 🙁

Complete 7/24, review started 9/8, says it will take up to 8 weeks, hitting that this Thursday. We shall see hahaha

Thank you both!!! 🙂

II just now. What is the best airport to fly in

Detroit will almost certainly be cheapest due to it being a major hub, but run a check of Grand Rapids (GRR: Gerald R Ford International Airport) and Lansing (LAN: Capital Region International Airport). They occasionally have deals, are closer, and are a little more accessible than DTW.

Congratulations on the II!

Does anyone coming from a different state want to coordinate a ride from the airport? Please message me! November 18th interview date

This is probably mentioned earlier in the thread but can someone provide info on the student interview? I got the itinerary and see we do MMI, group activity, AND student interview. Is the student interview 1:1? Is it conversational, blind, open file, etc?

We signed an NDA. Nothing to worry about though.

There's a limit to what I can tell you (as a student interviewer, you also sign a confidentiality agreement), but the interview process in total is very low stress. Student interviewing allows us to see facets of an applicant's personality and goals that might not come across to faculty or clinical staff. As with the MMI, the best thing you can do is be yourself.

Sorry, I didn't know the student interview was included the non-disclosure agreement - I wouldn't have asked if I knew. Thanks for the info!! 🙂

Does anyone know when the next batch of acceptances will come out? I interviewed in October. Thanks
