Wait, so does everyone not have the withdraw tab?

Do you not have a withdraw tab, undermyumbrELLA?
I just got the withdraw tab today, so I was wondering if it may be related to pre-II rejections. The withdraw tab is most likely unrelated, but either way, I'm preparing myself for the chopping block.

I really don't think the withdraw tab matters. I was invited for an interview and I have the tab. I'm not sure when it showed up but I haven't even had my interview yet. I think the tab is available because now that more people are finding out if they got in, they are most likely being overloaded with emails about withdrawing.

I feel like that is counterintuitive. Why give people the withdraw tab if they are about to be rejected anyway. It would be better to give the withdraw tab to people who have potential to be interviewed because if those people withdraw, it would make it easier for them to select interviews. That's the hopeful way to think about it haha

I like how you think.

I had the withdraw tab since day one (complete in early August). I thought it was a standard thing.

That is a good point. Your optimism is refreshing at this point in the cycle!

Anyone else out there that's a 9/20 interviewee? Anyone heard anything at all yet?

Are any of the people who are accepted 21 or 22 years old? I'm starting to notice that the older you are, the higher your chances of gaining admission

They said at my interview that the range was 21-35 and I'm 21

I'm 20 and accepted. It's definitely possible!

Does this school send out rejections? Prefer non-trads?

I wouldn't necessarily say they favor non-trads. A large amount of my class didn't take a gap year and if they did, it was one. I couldn't tell you how many 21st birthdays that have occurred!

As a former student, DO NOT APPLY HERE. The administration sucks, specifically Nancy Minugh Purvis. The curriculum is not that great and all Drexel cares about is making money, which they make very clear. Save yourself the hassle and money and go somewhere else.

Not even related to the medical school.

Just wanted to report back here that I interviewed today with 45 other people. Huge pool, it was their first Saturday session. They were definitely very organized and everyone working at the university was very kind, helpful, and enthusiastic, but- and not to scare anyone- I had a super high-stress interview. My interviewer enjoyed playing devils advocate with me and I did my best to cope with his questions. Everything I said was challenged and/or made to look like an embarrassment, but I stuck my ground while under the pressure (though probably less eloquently...). I hope that pays off but everyone else seemed to have low-stress casual conversational interview. I'd be surprised to be admitted after that bloodbath but maybe my memory is making it worse than it actually was. There's a brief short ethical essay, which is cake. I wish everyone else the best of luck!

I can think of a few people that could be....

I had a little bit of a different experience lol. My interviewer was about 15 minutes late and then he spent several minutes reading my application before he called me into the office. The conversation I had with him went well enough, but it was clear that he didn't read my application (or confused me with another applicant). Because my interview started late, I ended late and it cut into the time I had to write my essay. The rest of the day went well. For those who get II's, make sure you ask the admissions office for a list of student hosts. That was the best experience of the weekend for me.

Same with you, i can think of a few candidates for that interviewer.

Very poor experience on my end. It was a few weeks ago so I'm trying to be as accurate as I can in details:
The interview day was not structured well. They blocked off way more time for everything than they needed. The 45 minutes they scheduled for a presentation took 15 and then the person presenting simply left the room and we had to wait for 30 minutes. It was nice to socialize, but we had a lot of these breaks. We were all scheduled to go sit it on a class (not sure of the exact time but let's say 3-3:30) but the class finished up at 3pm. When we got to the room, it was empty and they just told us we can go home (since our break was scheduled as the last thing of the day). That lack of checking ahead and preparation just looked lazy to me. The tour was also strange as the student that took us around did not seem very familiar with the school (M2) and could not answer a lot of basic questions (such as library or cafeteria hours). Very unimpressed.

EDIT: I looked back on some previous interview day reactions. To add some more information I missed that may (?) be helpful. My interview day only had about 15 of us. My interviewer was also very nice and it was all very conversational. In that aspect, I had no complaints about the school.

Library: 24 hours Cafe: 7:30-6

In all fairness, yes, classes are scheduled but it is not uncommon for classes to end early because they got through the material faster. Depends on the subject, but a few weeks ago we had a lecture end 30 minutes early. This will be a non-issue next year. I'm sorry you didn't have the best experience, but I can promise you that the school operates very organized and they have what they need in place.

Does anyone remember if Drexel offers "Second Look"?

Yes, it was beginning of April last year.

As an aside, I loved my interviewer and he remembered me when I saw him during orientation. So you can definitely leave a lasting impression. The support from the faculty is great and has been so beneficial to me adjusting to med school.

But I will add, as unfortunate as this is, many adcoms you encounter are also course coordinators. So with teaching, lecture planning, and they now have the task of changing the entire curriculum for next year. I've seen first hand how much work they have to put into this. Not an excuse, but it could account for the delay.

So I finally called the office ( I never, like NEVER call the admissions..) and asked when I would hear back.

He said 6-8weeks after the interview, oh wait it has been OVER 8 WEEKS, oh.. so hold tight, the committee still needs to do the final vote and you should hear back.... but it's thanksgiving next week hmmm... maybe they'll meet once before thanks giving 🙂

Great... I think I'm gonna hear back from the other school I interviewed 10 days ago sooner than from Drexel lol

Sorry. Had to rant

Did you interview in my 9/19 group?

Nope! 20th
So have they just not looked at any of us on that day yet?? I don't understand this process. sorry to everyone who got negative news this week...I'm waiting for my snail mail letter at this point

This is exactly what I'm confused about. I interviewed on 9/19 and as far as I know people who interviewed after me have gotten their decisions and I haven't received one so I am not understanding how schools decide who to give a decision to when.

That being said I'm sure I have a rejection letter at home right now.

I have never been so nervous to drive home from work until reading this thread...the only thing worse than a long day at work is being greeted at home with a mailed rejection :/

Yeahh, wouldn't count on that. We have exams Tuesday and we get sit and not know our scores for a week. So, faculty will be gone :/
