Just a hope here, but maybe they're releasing the early interviews right now. Then, the late September interviews afterwards?

last year only the early september crew heard on the first day. it took longer for people who interviewed later in september. it may be different this year though who knows
If there were a significant red flag that they denied you for (on your amcas/secondary app) then you wouldn't have been invited for an interview, although they might provide more info concerning why you were. It could be as simple as the 'fit' for the school.
I am not saying that it is your ECs/essays/interviewing skills because I do not know any of that information, just that it is certainly not your LM. Congrats on those stats. If you take a look over your app and think about how you interviewed you may have given a red flag during the interview itself (not on the application) or you may have just not had the ECs they were looking for after all.
All in all it is tough to say. Best of luck moving forward.
But for final thought: it is probably worth asking them and not just us 🙂 (that is if they have acknowledged they are receptive to those requests)
I definitely would. With that high score, it is shocking you didn't get in.

Random but does anyone know where I could find the USMLE step 1 average scores for UB? I cant seem to find it on their website or by doing a google search.
They said today but I'm guessing they are behind in reviewing applications. My portal still has the interview info, which is rumored to mean that they haven't made a decision yet.
Schools do not post step scores. They only post pass rates.
similar boat with similar LM, but IS was rejected this morning. Im totally bumbed but trying to see if I hear back from other schools soon.

In the interview they mentioned that they send out rejections and then acceptances after, don't know if that helps your theories lol.

Is the interview info still on your portal or has it cleared?
It's still there. You? (and what date?)
I've come to conclusion that it won't be today.
Remember, if your portal hasn't "cleared" (meaning there is still red text at the bottom) it means your application is not up for review by the committee yet. Once it clears your application goes into the pile to have its final review.
Also, congratulations to everyone who was accepted today! If anyone has any questions about Upstate please feel free to either ask here or PM me and I will be happy to answer!

I am referring to all of that. When your file is ready it will all disappear and look like it did when you first submitted and before you received an II.

Interviewed here yesterday, I loved it. I think Syracuse is a great area and I thought the MMI went very well. Excited to hear back in 3-4 weeks!
For those who were accepted, has anyone had their portal change so they could pay their deposit? Last years thread implies that this is supposed to happen.

I guess I'm driving myself crazy because I don't have any source of validation other than the e-mail. Maybe this is because it's so early in the cycle still? Regardless, I'll be calling today after this class to ask a few questions

For anyone that interviewed today -- the radiology lecture was hilarious, thank you for participating.
Can anyone comment on the local hotel quality and rates? They provided a list of 4 hotels in the area but I couldn't get a good idea from the websites what the rooms are actually like
I've only ever stayed at Maplewood Suites http://www.mwsyracuse.com/. It's not close enough to stay at without a car, but they are absolutely fantastic. The service is excellent and I bet if you called them they would give you a discount rate for being an interviewing student and would provide a shuttle to get you to campus for your interview. The whole place was recently renovated and it's really quite nice.

I know this isn't a thread about applications (there's quite a big "no II" thread we had last year), but try not to worry too hard until Thanksgiving. If you're really nervous feel free to PM me you stats and what schools you applied to if you want to talk it out.

I just stayed at Skylar who offers discounts if you are interviewing. got it for about 100 bucks BUT it was literally a 5 minute walk to the campus building where the interview was and only 10-15 min drive from both airport and train station. And if you stay there, they have a shuttle service ( a car) that comes and picks you up wherever you are getting in from (train or airport or bus) and takes you back when tou are leaving town.
I stayed at Maplewood, it was ~$80 with the interview rate. They have a shuttle service that can pick you up from the airport and drive you to/from the campus for your interview. It was raining like crazy the night I got in, so I hung out with the chef and bartender at the hotel restaurant, who were both fantastic!
I'm sorry to hear about that. If you need to talk/vent, feel free to message me as well. Granted, monophasic is a med student so his/her advice may be more helpful. I can try to respond in between procedures.
There's a vast number of applicants without invites. Try to maintain the LizzyM rule of thumb: no invites by Thanksgiving = start to worry

My portal has updated, and I can now submit my deposit. 🙂 Still going to wait to get my acceptance package in the mail first, though.
I wonder when the next round of decisions will go out. It has been pretty quiet since Monday. Maybe the committee only convenes one day of the week?
Interviewing on 12/7. Accepted to another school that uses the MMI so I hope I won't completely bomb. Does anyone know of relative acceptances stats for those interviewed at that point in the cycle?
All I know is that the probability will be larger than zero.
