In regard to a tour/meeting or interview? Is Upstate receptive to ITA?
I apologize if it's obvious what you mean. Never really understood what "in the area" really meant into terms of the admission process.
I'm not sure, tbh it's probably too late for ita.Is Upstate receptive to ITA?
Basically you're telling the school you're going to be in the area anyway, so if they're thinking of interviewing you, it would be great if they could extend that II right now so you can interview while you're in the area anyway. In regard to a tour/meeting or interview?

From my understanding, unless you're a rockstar applicant, this matters very little. It's more for schools who are looking to grab the most coveted applicants, I think.
Thank you for the clarification.I'm not sure, tbh it's probably too late for ita.

That's what I was thinking. It seemed to be an odd attempt to get an interview. However, from what I'm reading elsewhere, it actually works for several schools.
I don't think it would really work for Upstate since they utilize the MMI. It may throw off the flow.
Would anyone who has been accepted mind posting their stats and when they submitted their application?

How did your interview go?!Complete 8/2, offered interivew 9/12, Interviewed on 12/7, praying to any deity that will listen for an acceptance.
IS, LizzyM 67. Meh GPA, high MCAT, great ECs and have lived locally.
Last year I received interviews for March and April after no interviews all season. It's not over until all schools have finished interviewing.
Unfortunately I did not interview well enough to earn a spot last cycle, but certainly other people did. You may find yourself interviewing in April and receiving an acceptance a few weeks later or mid-summer. I hope you receive one earlier
That's definitely true. On one of my interviews, a current medical student said he interviewed in June and was offered an acceptance a couple days later. June is wayy after the projected final interview date of that school too.
I feel like it went really well and I have been on two MMI interviews prior and was accepted to both of those schools. Looking back, there's nothing I would have changed. How did your interview go?!
Congratulations on your acceptance, I hope to be able to join you
Any advice how to get here from NYC?
95 S -> 80 W -> 380 N -> 81 NAny advice how to get here from NYC?
I plan on taking the bus. But it will reach their at 12 in the night. Do you think it would be totally rude to ask for a student host. Especially that late at night95 S -> 80 W -> 380 N -> 81 N
I personally wouldn't. There's a hotel basically on the SU campus, and if you're on a bus scheduled to run through campus (some do on the way to the main terminal) you'd be in walking distance. If you aren't on that bus, a taxi would cost 15-20, but would save you from driving...I plan on taking the bus. But it will reach their at 12 in the night. For anyone accepted and interested in living in Geneva Tower, I just noticed the housing application is up! 🙂

How and when did you find out? Email or portal?Just placed on the regular Alternate list.....incredibly disappointed. This was my number one school. I hope it works out better for everyone still waiting.

when did you interview?
I interviewed on 11/14.

I was just emailed at 4:00pm
"Status: Medical Student" ?
Addendum to that would be: recently accepted to PCOM. For which I am very grateful, but this was the school I was holding onto hope for.
Ah gotcha. Sorry to hear of the outcome with Upstate, but good luck with the rest of your cycle! Keep your head up; it's not over until it's over.I interviewed on 11/14.

I was thinking about withdrawing my II from here until I went to a Interview and saw how the students who interviewed here were so dam happy and gleeful at what they saw at this institution. That caught my eye and now I am booking my travel arrangement lolz .. Funny how things happen
Very sorry to hear this. May I ask how you felt your MMI went?Just placed on the regular Alternate list.....incredibly disappointed. This was my number one school. I hope it works out better for everyone still waiting.

Awesome. That's a great feeling!
I'm sure you did well. Now it's the hardest part: waiting.
Upstate is your top choice?
Now it's the hardest part: waiting.
I dunno, but given everything you guys just went through, and what you're about to go through, I don't feel like waiting is the hardest part, lol.
It is. I would matriculateAwesome. That's a great feeling!

Rejected pre-II, previously put on hold back in September. Seems like the re-review process noted in the hold email is certainly underway. Oh well, best of luck all.

I felt that it went very well. I wouldnt say that there was nothing I would change but I do not believe that the interview was what caused my placement.

Also just rejected pre-II by email. OOS student.
Hahaha, valid point. Let me change my statement: now onto the hardest part of the application cycle*I dunno, but given everything you guys just went through, and what you're about to go through, I don't feel like waiting is the hardest part, lol.
Rejected pre-II. IS, bummer.
What do you think caused the rejection?I felt that it went very well. I wouldnt say that there was nothing I would change but I do not believe that the interview was what caused my placement.
Noticing changes on the portal. My selected interview date (which has passed) now states no interview date selected. The details portion also reflects some changes. Any other post-interview folks seeing this?

This is known as a "portal clear", your decision should be coming soon! Mine cleared yesterday and I found out today

Wow..that would be very quick considering I interviewed last week. Not feeling too great about that. It still says 'congratulations on being selected for an interview!" however. This is known as a "portal clear", your decision should be coming soon! Mine cleared yesterday and I found out today

This is indicative that your application is up for review by the admissions committee and you will likely hear back in a few days! (considering it's a Friday your decision will likely come on Monday)
Good Luck!!
I actually received an answer from the admissions department. If anyone else has seen this you can PM me as the answer may reveal some aspects of your application - or just email admissions, they're very kind
Rejected this morning pre II, IS, LM~71
I'm still on hold pre II I have spent a lot of time at the school doing research in the labs and working with the residents and med students as an undergrad, I was thinking of sending a letter of interest does anyone know if the school is receptive to these/thoughts?
We were told that updates may be helpful post-interview, but I don't know about coming off of a hold.I'm still on hold pre II I have spent a lot of time at the school doing research in the labs and working with the residents and med students as an undergrad, I was thinking of sending a letter of interest does anyone know if the school is receptive to these/thoughts?
