2016-2017 Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso (Foster) Application Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Has anyone been able to get into contact with the Office of Admissions? I had a couple of questions regarding the admissions checklist, but I haven't been able to get in touch with them since late last week...

Would a current student mind sharing when we can expect to receive our student loans? Beginning of June? End of June? July?

Any second years here to shed some light on how the school is preparing them for steps, given the step scores were lower than national average last year? The couple of first years I spoke to hinted the lectures were not worth attending. I am having a hard time deciding if moving to El Paso is worth it or not?

Is your alternative OOS?

Did you send in any updates or make any phone calls prior to your acceptance? Congratulations by the way!
Thanks!! As hard as it was to resist, I didn't call them prior to this. I did send a LOI to Dr. Schydlower a couple of weeks ago. I emphasized why I feel I am right for the school, and said if I was offered a spot I would take it. I'm in state btw.

Congrats!! Have you gotten your email with your packet yet? I haven't, and my paranoia is starting to kick in :dead:

No! Me too, I have checked my phone at least 5 times just to make sure that I actually got that call from them lol

Ok so I'm not going crazy that's good....I thought for a second it was all a dream

I believe there is still time for movement by looking at the previous years' threads. However, plan B should be initiated :/

I did not send in any letter of intent or anything. I did not update my grades either. My lizzy M was a 65. But, I don't think that really gives an accurate depiction of me. I am a very active person in my community and on campus which has given me a lot of really great experiences to talk about and reflect on. Also I am not an URM.

Some people have withdrawn their acceptances from what I've heard, so don't let go of hope yet.

Got my acceptance offer today!!!! Good luck to the others on the list. 🙂

Congratulations!! Did you get an email or phone call? In State? Around what time? Stats?

It was a phone call at around 1:30 pm and yea I am in state. I received the email with the acceptance offer and some other forms shortly after. 3.8/510

Anyone know if there's been any withdrawals of acceptances?
Stuck on the waitlist on still hoping I have a chance
