oh okay that wasnt even a late primary submission

i submitted my primary to all the UCs at the end of august and only receieved UCSD and UCR so i hope theres still hope for the others to send me one

Sorry for late reply. My advice is simple. Just be yourself! It is normal to feel nervous going into the interview, but UCLA peope were all so friendly and welcoming which helped me relax. It was a low-stress MMI in my opinion.

You don't need any previous knowledge/info on anything. They want to know more about your personality, to see if you show maturity, etc. Have fun and good luck!

Thanks! I just got my committee letter in on 9/12, so I'm trying to figure out if I should even hope for an II from anywhere this month. Best of luck in your interview!

Would you mind sharing when you were verified and got your secondary? I have about the same stats and am also IS :/

Someone said on here that after they sent in their II availability, they waited 10 days before their interview was scheduled. Anyone else have to wait longer than that?

Sure! I got an email saying they received my primary mid July, got the secondary request first week of August, submitted the secondary a week and a half into September (*GASP* not within 2 weeks) and was complete that day, then II on 9/22

I never received an email telling me that I received a secondary. I only found out that I had a secondary when I checked on the portal, which is why I don't have an exact date for when it was received :/

Yeah.. I don't know why this is taking so long. Is their screen that holistic? Both this and last year, I've even gotten UCSF's way before UCLA's..

I have been waiting for 2 weeks for them to get back to me with the interview date. I don't want to annoy them by calling just to ask. I am hoping they give me a few weeks to prepare and buy my flight!

I am regular MD. I also called about them receiving my transcripts (after the II) and they said I could check if they had been received online? I don't know where they were referring to but I don't want to call again and possibly annoy them.

Yeah, you can't check that online I don't think. I mean, I got an II so I am excited and very fortunate. Just anxious to know my date lol.
 
Submitted primary 9/8 and received secondary today. When I saw I had gotten an email from UCLA.. my heart froze and I mentally prepared myself by thinking "here it is.. my first rejection of the cycle". BUT I'll take that secondary! Thank you for giving me a chance UCLA<3
 
Does anyone know when UCLA started interviews? And what month they're up to right now?

losing hope for a secondary... primary verified early - mid July 🙁. waiting on UCLA and davis for secondary
 
If you apply to PRIME does that mean you have to wait till December (when IIs are sent for PRIME) or can you receive an II earlier with the rest of the candidates?

Yes, if they decide that you are a good fit, they will keep you until December when decisions come out. Otherwise, they will pass your application over to be reviewed for the regular program.

Well, that depends on when you submitted your secondary and whether they have looked at your whole application. I am not really sure how this process works either. Maybe someone else has a better understanding of this whole process. But that is how I understand it from reading past threads.
 
I'm really interested in the process. I hope if they have no interest they're passing our apps along sooner than later. Otherwise, are all PRIME applicants at a significant disadvantage not being passed along until December, and even if kept, not being Interview until January..

I called the other day and was told the process is concurrent. Which is in contrast to what's online though, so I'm not sure

Really?! Well that would be amazing. So maybe it's more like only after PRIME rejects you then Geffen will let you know if they want to interview you, but they would have already looked at your file.

That would make me feel a lot better.

That's what it sounded like. I didn't want to be rude but I asked a couple of times to be sure lol. Only because on the website it definitely indicates PRIME has to deny you first.
 
^ that is awesome. I wonder how many secondaries they have sent out. That will give us a sense of what our chance of getting an II will be.
 
Anyone interviewing Nov 1?

Also, can anyone who has interviewed share when the exact day in August the class of 2021 would start according to the brochures/handouts?

Good luck to u guys! I'm in the same boat. Secondaries to all UC'a but haven'5 heard back from UCLA since I was verified.
