Hi all! Very excited to interview here at the end of the month. Do you have any advice for how to get to UVM from NYC? I don't own a car...

Aw man I interviewed at 11/5 and haven't heard back yet and it seems like people have already heard back way back in mid December 🙁 is this a bad sign?

Don't worry about it. I interviewed 10/15 and heard back first week of December, when a lot of people who interviewed after me or in early November already heard back.

Wow, how serendipitous haha! Are there any hotels you would recommend? Thanks for being so helpful!
I used a student host so if you can still sign up for one, definitely do so. Saved me a bunch of money too

The megabus stop moved recently so now it drops you off in downtown Burlington. That said, it is still a very easy spot!

Hey everyone!!

Can anyone who has already interviewed give me a general idea of how it went? I just got my II & I'm super excited but I want to prepare as best as I can. On the website it says we are going through a "circuit to speak to several interviewers".. So is this a regular timed MMI with ethical scenarios? Or just mini-interviews with questions about our applications/why UVM/why medicine etc... or both? Idk.. any info would be great!

Thanks in advance! 🙂

II a couple days ago, it went to my Junk Mail box and I almost missed it!

Make sure to check your spam folder!

This x 1000! I just checked my spam folder and i have an REI coupon + free shipping at DSW. so.

What email client are you guys using? Gmail seems to be pretty good at sorting the good from the bad, but I'd like a reason to get excited when I check my spam folder.

+1 for Gmail
They say that your II must be confirmed within 3 days, today was the morning of the fourth day and I checked it by chance. I made it just in time.
I have Gmail as well. For posterity, it helps to star the secondary application e-mail confirmations, that way there is less of a change the algorithms will send follow up e-mails to spam. Perhaps you have higher Google security settings than myself as well. Good luck on you interview.

I'm pretty sure Gmail read the "We want to meet you!" opening line and thought it was some dating website scam. I also checked it by chance and almost missed the window to confirm! They should probably change their wording to prevent this issue from happening lol..

Did your portal update too?
you have to confirm it through the portal. I had the "interview" tab and I hit confirm within seconds of reading the email. I haven't checked the UVM portal in a while since I assumed I was rejected.... its so late in the season!

I thought that too! I almost didn't open it. Then I saw UVM in the sender's address....

Then I realized today was the fourth day and almost lost my $&#%. I couldn't log into my portal fast enough. I guess they give you a little extra time, because I still had the option to confirm. But Jesus did it scare me.

See here for evidence:
OH MAN it was so good.

For breakfast there was quiche, sausage/veggie sausage, fruit, yogurt (maybe, can't remember), a couple different types of breakfast pastries, coffee, water, juice. Pretty good stuff.

They encouraged everyone to take some packaged snacks/protein bars for gamefuel for the day IIRC.

Lunch was Korean BBQ street taco bar. Lots of extras and sauces too. Everything was just so delicious.
Aaaand, if I might add....

Wrapped up session with the infamous apple cider and apple donuts.
OMG I FORGOT. I was so stuffed by the end I wanted to food coma

I would still open it because I'm single and desperate.

Spider senses too OP. Happy you made it. 😀

The potassium levels allow me to sense electromagnetic impulses. Something told me to check my junk mail.

LOL JK I had an interview yesterday and was neurotically refreshing my email hoping to hear something even though I know it's way to early.

I've been "in the pool" (which I realize doesn't mean much) since around October. I'm still very interested in this school, and have sent one update earlier, and then updated grades. Would it be worth it to also send admissions an email letting them know I'm still interested?

I'm not sure if the person you'll have contact with that answers questions is part of the committee that makes decisions about interviews and stuff. If you wanted to email them to ask them specifics about the program or any other thing you're interested in learning more about, sure. I can't see the harm in sending them emails about their program and whatever you're interested in. But aside from update letters and grade changes, I don't think there's anything more you could do (and you've done a lot already) to sway their decisions further.

But I can understand not wanting to just sit here and wait for a decision, especially with the deafening silence for months. Trying to be as proactive as possible is a great quality to have. It's just, I dunno, I'm not sure if more can be done at this point other than major update letters.

Did you send your update letter to [email protected]? If so, was it in the body of the email or as an attachment?

FWIW, the UVM website explicitly says not to send update letters about grades.
