Haha, as I have posted a few times, I have been "complete" with the sub-committee reviewing my app since 6/28. I think I may need to call and ask now haha. YOU, on the other hand, are fine!

If you call, please let us know. I was thinking about calling as well, but it usually just infuriates them.
 
So I have submitted after getting in touch with the admissions office.

Is it normal not to be able to see my application after submitting? All I can see is the instructions and the invitation to fill it out. :O

No apparent updates.
 
Jokes aside, how technical should I get with my response to the essay? If it's anything like an MMI, I don't think I should say anything authoritative beyond "talk to your physician, visit cdc.gov/vaccinations."

I didn't get too specific with my answer (You really can't with the character limit). I mentioned a few talking points and gave some sources where more information could be found. Basically, I showed that I was knowledgeable in the area, but I think the more important part is how personal you are with the situation.

Don't disparage her or blow her off. Show understanding and acknowledge of her point of view, make her feel comfortable. Invite an open conversation.

youre at a party with a neighbor who doesnt know the first thing about science or health, youre not at a scientific congress. tell her that the CDC and WHO exist and are very credible and established, and that by simply googling the topic in question she can find a thousand excellent resources that give a dumbed down version of the facts.

this lady probably scrolled through to page 48 of the google results till she finally found some quackery about vaccinations on Dr. Mercola's site. just tell her she should probably read the articles on the first 47 pages of the google results first before she finds a quack article. You can use this post as your resource

Are you waiting for your app to be forwarded to subcommittee for review?

I submitted few days after and my status hasn't changed either. My app still needs to be sent to committee for review

I was complete in late June/early July and still waiting on the subcommittee to review my app. I check every morning praying for a status change.

Just checked my portal this morning to find the status change to:

The Committee's file review indicates that they are very interested in your candidacy. We are trying to interview all candidates at your priority score interviewed as soon as possible if we have an adequate number of interview slots. Please anticipate an e-mail from us regarding a possible interview date.

I was complete on 8/16! Does anybody know the timeline for hearing back after this status change?

Mine has said that since 8/15 with no email for interview date yet. OOS

Same. Submitted 7/25 with all my recs already in. And I have had that same message as well.
 
Looking for an honest opinion - Is it too late to submit this secondary? I think it kind of got lost last month, and I forgot I even received it. Just went through my email and found the link and saw that I did indeed receive one. :eyebrow:

Has anyone who has been stuck at the "complete...Sub-Committee will now do a review" status contacted them?

I've had that status for over a month and just curious if anyone had called them already.

Edit: I'm going to send an email and will post here if I get a response.

I'm in the same boat... I just figured they're probably swamped with applications.

I've seen people post rejections here that submitted after me, so I keep checking twice a day. However, I'm not worried about not having a status change yet. I'll ride it out for a while.

Yeah, totally agree with both of you, it's a long, random process. Just figured I'd email to be sure there wasn't an issue with my app specifically.

Are you referring to this status?

"Your File Review is now complete. If you are granted an interview, you will receive a status update on your applicant portal. Please do not call the Admissions Office requesting special dates."

Have had this status since 8/9, submitted secondary 7/14

I have that status too. Submitted 7/14. Can't remember when I got the status..
 
II for the fmSTAT program today! OOS, LizzyM 75, complete 7/27. I received the II by phone call.

The dates I was offered for interviews were either Wednesdays 11/16, 1/11, or 2/8, or Friday/Saturday (that is, fmSTAT interview on Friday, SOM interview on Saturday) 10/7-10/8, and 2/17-18.

(Sorry if someone already posted this; I just wanted to provide as much info as possible!)

By phone call exclusively ? And do you have to pick the date on the spot? Or will they give you a chance to call back after checking calendar, planning, etc.

Yes, the initial contact was only by phone with the co-director of the program, but I was able to call back later with my choice of date. Then I received a confirmation email with info about the interview day, and my portal updated.
 
So do they send out emails if its a pre-secondary rejection or is it a silent rejection?
Haven't gotten a single email from them - AMCAS verified 8/6
Should I call?

check your portal, they dont email you about the secondary invitation
 
just submitted my secondary, OOS hopefully not too late to the interview game :/
btw does the portal status change after submitting a secondary?
