when you are complete does everyone have this on the portal?
Your M.D. file is now complete. The Sub-Committee will now do a review of your application. Once this review is complete, you will receive a status update regarding your profile.
Please note that your file may be put on hold for the following reasons:
Hold for MCAT: We are assuming you are scheduled to take the test. The Committee wishes to wait to evaluate your file until those scores are available. MCATS taken after September of the year of application will not be considered. If you are not planning to take or retake the MCAT, please notify us immediately.
Hold for Grades: The file review done by the Committee has determined that you are engaged in coursework which may affect their decision about whether to invite you for an interview. It is imperative that you submit grades for current or proposed courses in a timely fashion. Any file on hold for grades that are not submitted by January 31st will automatically be rejected. If you did not take the course indicated on your primary or supplemental application, please notify us immediately.
+1Yep! This is what is on my portal 🙂

Wait, I'm really confused. I got an email with a link to the portal which had the secondary there the morning after my AMCAS was verified and I just assumed that everyone got that. Now I'm reading that there's a screen... Do they screen that quickly? Is there a separate email inviting you to complete the secondary or is it just the email acknowledging receipt of the primary/with the portal link? Now I'm worried that I filled the secondary out without an explicit invitation to do so...
Haha I thought I was the only one worrying about this. I got my secondary within two days of being processed! I think it's fine. It wouldn't show up on our profile if they didn't want us to have it. I don't make it a habit to call admissions offices but I shared your same concern. All they did was just confirm that they had my application materials. I feel bad because I feel like it came off as me wanting confirmation that I deserved the secondary which wasn't the case...
If you ask them--let us know what they say!
I think this is a good sign! I think I remember reading somewhere that this ultimately led to an interview being scheduled... do you mind sharing what your previous status was before this one?Just checked my portal to find this message:
"Your File Review is now complete. If you are granted an interview, you will receive a status update on your applicant portal. Please do not call the Admissions Office requesting special dates."
Reapplicant, last year they had 3 or 4 other status messages for applicants after file review, don't think this was one of them. Not sure how long this has been on my portal, submitted my application 7/14. Not sure what it means either.
If not now, then it'll happen later. They're not giving you IS treatment (and tuition) unless you can prove it with documentation. For fellow instate applicants: were there any questions on the application concerning your Virginia residency? I know I thoroughly checked up and down but I don't remember having to prove my residency with any documentation.

Did you get an email notification that your status changed? The last time I checked the portal was a couple week ago and was the "Your M.D. file is now complete." status.
As far as I see from looking through this thread, it's the "very interested in your candidacy" status that leads to interviews. There is one individual who seemed to get an II without any status change at all.
Again, the status I got seems to be new in this cycle. It might be replacement for the other 2 or 3 statuses that were given out last year, where they indicated that they were somewhat interested or something along those lines.
Last year, I got this status: "The committee's file review indicates that they are interested in your candidacy. However, due to the increase in the applicant pool this year, it is clear we MAY be unable to interview all the candidates at your priority score. If we do find that we are unable to grant an interview, you will be notified by e-mail in March."
There were several applicants who received the status above who went on to receive II's. However, I applied late last year and actually got this status in the middle of march AFTER they had already finished sending out interview invites lol. Was later changed to a rejection.
I don't remember, but I wouldn't worry about it. Your AMCAS app has you as a VA resident. If they want more, they'll ask.Do you remember if there were any questions about it on the supplementary though? I'm just worried because the IS treatment is present with whom they select for interviews.
Did you get an email notification that your status changed?
Heart started to beat a little faster when I logged in and saw that the message was shorter....
But then realized they just removed all the "may be on hold" messages and I'm still in review = =

All I know is that VCU's Admission's Committee has its **** together. Very happy with the open communication and updates, too.
👍👍 Two thumbs way up
now my portal is broken...
Well, at least this is more interesting than logging in 5x a day for the same message!
[Edit: just kidding, it's my computer that's broken]
https://appportal.som.vcu.eduThis is weird but can someone send me the link to the portal? I decided not to apply here after putting it on my primary, but it's weird that they never even emailed me that they received my app/emailed me a link to the portal. If I was going to apply, I would have looked into this awhile ago, but now I'm just curious if I can even access the portal.

Congrats! I just went to the application portal and "schedule interview" was on the menu to the left.Congrats! I got my II today too, but don't see the "schedule interview" tool anywhere in the applicant portal. What link did you use? I sent a message via the "help" option. Is anyone else having the same issue?
My status changed to complete today also. I previously had the "may be on hold..." message even tho I had everything in when I submitted my secondary on Jul 25th.
