Does anyone know how receptive they are to "in the area" emails/calls? Had the "very interested" status for 1.5 months ish, and I will be in the area.
 
Does everyone with the "we are very interested in your candidacy" actually end up receiving an interview? I am a bit skeptical by seeing how many people were granted this status on this thread

I don't. It's SDN, and people with more favorable indicators probably post more. I've been the under review for well over a month, so there's not much for me to post until something good or bad happens. Or you ask this question 🙂

Hey just a heads up- I have been complete since July at VCU with a "the committee will now review your application" status and I checked my portal today and noticed a "schedule interview" tab had appeared. I honestly have no idea how long it has been there, but my status never changed and is still under review. The soonest available dates are for November. Anyone else have this happen to them?

Edit: just noticed someone else had this happen to them earlier this week, still weird though!

Just logged onto my portal and saw the "Interested" status, no idea how long it'd been there and no email notification haha. Complete 9/13

The only tab I have is withdraw application. Are they giving me a hint?

Yeah...happened to me earlier this week without my status changing. I went ahead and picked a date the first time I saw it and then went back in and saw the "reschedule interview" option. Saw an interview slot open up earlier in October (instead of November) so decided to go for it. Then the reschedule interview tab disappeared completely! I'm wondering if it is a system glitch...so much for feeling excited about a potential II! Emailed them today to inquire about whether it was a real II or not...

I think someone mentioned you can only reschedule once somewhere on here. May be why it disappeared after you rescheduled a new date.
 
So I've had the ""Your M.D. file is now complete. The Sub-Committee will now do a review of your application. Once this review is complete, you will receive a status update regarding your profile." status for a while now, but now i just noticed that my withdraw tab is gone. Does that mean that they are actually reviewing my app now? Does it mean anything?

Me being the psycho that I am, I called admissions and asked about this. The woman I spoke to said that it is completely normal to have this status for more than one/two months... She said that they have a lot of applications to go through (8k+). Didn't really give me any other information. So still useless, but she was really kind ha.

mine went away a month ago too. I think it is just a glitch.

Just checked and have this additional notice about on hold for grades/MCAT but did not indicate either as something I was pursuing during the cycle. Did you end up calling or just waiting it out?

I didn't end up calling because I noticed a lot of people having the same thing happen to them. I might call Monday though, and if I do I will let you know what happens!

I've called for this before and they said if you don't actually have any grades or Mcat scores that you are waiting for it doesn't pertain to you. I think it's just something with their online system because mine is sometimes there and sometimes gone.
 
Do any late September interview attendees want to comment on the interview day? :nailbiting:

Status went from 'very interested' to we regret that we are unable to offer.
They got my hopes up and then crushed it with a few words....

You can go from the soon to be II status straight to rejected? Wow, that's just cruel. So sorry 🙁

That's unbelievably cruel. I'm so sorry to hear that. Good luck with the rest of your schools

Updated from sub committee will do a review to File review complete. This is the hold message, no?

I got an updated status, but it doesn't mention anything about decision dates. They told my interview group that they will let us know of their decisions around October 15th. Two or three other dates were mentioned, but I can't remember them off the top of my head. I think they might be posted somewhere on their website though.

Hmm, is yours the "thank you for attending interview"? I just got a status now saying that a decision has been made and decisions will be sent out October __, Dec __, etc.

Essentially. It says my interview is complete, my app is under review, and another status (presumably the one you have now) is to come.

Congrats on the interview! I was wondering if you guys knew if there was a place to store luggage and if there were any comments you wanted to make about the interview date? Since it's MMI, I know you can't say much, but anything you want to comment on would be nice to hear. Thanks!

Thanks! & congrats on yours! They let us put our bags in the admissions closet, but I didn't see anyone bring luggage. I would call and ask prior! I just googled standard MMI questions for prep, and the ones you couldn't prepare for weren't bad at all.

Thank you. I did the same thing as @Ayy_MadScientist for preparation. One tip - do NOT stress about this interview like I did. I was up till 3am the night before freaking out about how to handle the MMI questions. My best advice (albeit cliche) is to be yourself and keep a positive attitude. Seriously though, do this and the rest will fall into place naturally. Oh, and don't forget to smile! A lot! 🙂

"The Admissions Committee has met to discuss your file. Your application is being placed on hold for possible acceptance at a later date. We anticipate making offers around October 16, December 15, February 1, and March 16. If any of these dates falls on a weekend the offers will be made on the following Monday. Only offers of admission will be made on the dates above.

Your profile will remain on hold, and you will receive no further communication from us concerning your hold status. The next status change you will be contacted about will be to offer you a position in the class, to notify you that you have been placed on the alternate list (the alternate list is formulated in late-March), or to notify you that the Committee will no longer be considering your file.

We thank you for your interest in our school."

Okay yea we have the same status. I checked last years status as well and you are right. I know they have already sent out rejections so that's kind of promising...

When did you interview? I was aug 20th

post interview rejections? I don't want to give too much away on sdn, but interviewed within the last week or so lol.

~7 weeks here, so not quite as long, but close.

Anyone complete in July still have the "will be reviewed" status? Or are they still not done with July?

Had the message since late July. The process isn't purely sequential though. Plenty of IIs out to people complete after July.
