Congrats you guys!!

Is it worth calling if I have t heard anything and been complete since mid to late August? I am IS and LizzyM 68-70 FWIW

Anyone else haven't heard back that has been complete since August?

Also got the status change email alert this morning ~ 10am Eastern time.
My heart was beating so fast while signing into that portal hahaha. Didn't see any changes on my home page other than a statement that my interview was complete and ready for review.

To echo a previous response, I also remember hearing that my cohort may not fit into the 10/17 decision date since we were so close to the date. Still, figured it wouldn't hurt to check! So I called the admission office and she was very understanding and quickly looked into my status report from her end. My interview was marked complete by the 15th but has yet to go into review.

So looks like I'll be in for the long wait until December decisions.

+1 IS and complete early August and haven't heard back since. I've been debating calling to ask for a timeline of when I can expect to hear back but haven't done so due to wishful thinking that my status will be updated soon :/

On the website, it says that those who submit at the beginning of the cycle should know within a month and "later in the cycle it can take up to 2 or 3 months"...idk if we are considered "later in the cycle"

For anyone who's interested, attached is the SOM Dean's executive summary and on the first page, you can clearly see that for the 2015-16 cycle, VCU accepted a total of 391 for 216 seats. If you don't hear anything today, it's not guaranteed that you will hear from them the next admission date (I interviewed in October and got in early May last cycle). Just be patient and the good news will come eventually 🙂

And congrats to those who have been accepted! Feel free to reach out to me for any questions you guys might have.

Lol don't worry, I wondered the same thing! I got the interview tab and scheduled it last Thursday (10/13) and finally got an email that my status has changed on the portal today (10/18). They added all the information about the interview and give a PDF with a bunch of hotels offering discounts for us. 😛

Hey man thanks for the response. Don't get why people that interviewed after me are getting their status updates before me....

Anyways! I would be confused too! You could call to verify your application status - They're really nice about checking that for you!

My portal had the same status post-interview until the last admission round in March and I was put on the wait-list. I got off the waitlist early May.

They DO reject people post-interview... So in essence, no news is good news!

You can send updates about publications...and one other thing I can't remember (I think grades). I sent in a publication update and included another update about a new job on the same page, too. I found the information about what you could send in on their website.

I called them twice. I have been complete since before 7/16. The first time I called them was at the end of August. The admissions person told me that the reviewer had questions about my app and someone will contact me in the near future. Called the second time in the beginning of October, I was told the questions have been resolved (no one has contacted me) and that my app is being reviewed by the committee and it could take anywhere from 4-12 weeks before a decision is made.

I would like to believe that, but last year, I survived all of the rejections until the end of the cycle. Granted, I've never applied to VCU before. We shall see what happens.

Those of you with interviews/acceptances already, when were you complete? I was complete 7/18 and I haven't even been REVIEWED yet. I know a bunch of people seem to be in this boat, and that VCU gets a ton of applications, but other schools that get the same or more have already reviewed everyone. Super confused as to what order they seem to be reviewing applications in.

I don't think it is a matter of not having gotten to review my interview group in time, because here's the thing: There have been multiple people in this thread that have stated they interviewed after me and still got the oct.17 update regarding acceptance/hold. I called VCU and this nice lady checked my file and said basically the same thing: no update/change yet, committee still reviewing, etc....

If they review applicants post-interview in order, shouldn't I have been either accepted, put on hold, or rejected by now? (since people that interviewed after me have already heard back). The lady on the phone was very nice and helpful, and even she had no answers either. She just kept telling me to keep an eye on the portal/email for updates. Anyone out there in the same boat as me? I interviewed early last week so I'm still at that post-interview status but will update if I hear any update after next Monday. I remember them saying at my interview day that they have been able to get through most of their file reviews within 2 Mondays of the interview day but maybe they've fallen a bit behind??
