Good news for my fellow February people! According to a trustworthy source, only ~10% of interviewees are admitted outright before February, and 30% are *rejected* before February. That means that you didn't bomb the interview, and judging by the statistic tht 3/4ths of M1s are February acceptees, if you're still on the list you have >50% odds of an acceptance here!

They do rejections post-interview before February?

Sorry if it's been asked before, but:

There's a panel interview with multiple med students and multiple applicants, and two one on one interviews with faculty, correct?

What is the panel interview like?

This school sent us an email saying for the interview, "the dress code is business casual (but a suit is fine too)". What would you do in this situation? They specifically said business casual which I am more comfortable in and prefer, but I don't want to be the only one who doesn't "dress to impress" per say.

Wear a suit

Everyone at my interview day wore a suit. You’ll also appreciate wearing one when they take you outside for the welcoming session and tour(not that it’ll offer much protection against the cold)

Do you think Northwestern accepts additional LoR as a post interview update?

Not sure why you want to consider it an update, but they do accept more LORs once you get the II, in addition to the maximum of three you can send beforehand.

hi all! sorry if this has been asked before; what is the post-II acceptance rate here? 🙂

How do we send the additional, and how many are suggested after the interview? I have about 3 more really great letters I would like to send, but I don't know if three is too many additional after the interview

You can send them through AMCAS, just add the new letters to the school list. They did not say how many, but I guess use common sense. I sent in three more myself, I don't think it's really what your acceptance will depend on, just don't send in another seven....
See Requirements : MD Admissions: Feinberg School of Medicine: Northwestern University for details, click on "letters of recommendation".

Have there been any pre-interview rejections yet? Sorry if this has been answered before.

Yes, they most definitely said we would hear either acceptance 4 - 6 weeks post II, or else delay until february for final decision. It's in my notes.
Just to be clear, did you get a message saying you'd be delayed until February, or you just didn't hear anything? It's been past 6 weeks for me now.

FYI they mentioned that there are no more committee meetings until after the holidays, so even if they do send a message saying you are delayed (I don't know if they do or don't) you probably wouldn't get it until mid January.

I got shook and became a babbling idiot during one of my interviews with an adcom, good luck everyone else I guess!

You never know! After my interviews, I had a faculty member (not one who interviewed me) talk to me in the hallway about how they really just want to make sure you're a normal person. Maybe they were just being nice, but everyone messes up some in their interviews.

Interviewed mid-November, accepted last Friday. Lizzy score of mid 70s.

Loved the school and the hospital. The attention to the little things really struck me on the tour. I've worked in hospitals across the country, and the loving details to improve the patient experience resonated with me. The price tag has got me worried, but fingers crossed!

Anybody who interviewed early November hear back yet? I notice the portal changed from saying we would hear back in 4-6 weeks to now saying 6-8 weeks. Maybe they're not going in order?

On my interview day last week they said that the committee won’t be meeting again before the new year. Your decision date probably got pushed back to accommodate the holiday break. They told us the next decision should be in mid-Jan

I heard back last week from mid-November, I really don't think they go in order though. It depends also on when your interviewers can sit with the committee, I wouldn't read too much into it.

On a broader note, im too lazy to look through the thread but have people been rejected yet?

This makes me sad. I actually know who you are, we interviewed together - were in the same group for the mock PBL. Guess I'm not an early acceptance.

En tout cas, mazel tov mon ami, et c'était un vrai plaisir de te faire connaissance. J'espère de te revoir au mois d'août à Chicago 🙂
