Got the call from U of MN-Twin Cities saying I got in on Monday!! (10/16) I also interviewed on the first day so no stress if you haven't heard back yet I think. Honestly still can't believe it. Just looking at the people who were there at my interview day, I feel incredibly lucky to have gotten in here and am so so excited by the prospect of attending the U of MN!!
You're an MN resident with an 83.5 LM, everyone would be surprised if you didn't get in. Congratulations regardless!

Congratulations!! How was the interview day? I'm still waiting on them to issue a date for mine (apparently there are trying to secure dates for the facilities). UMN-TC is my first choice! 😀

This was my first interview so it felt super stressful at the time but in retrospect it wasn’t bad at all. Personally I really like the MMI cause I feel like it gives you a chance to gather yourself and sort of hit a reset button if you have one particular interviewer that you’re just not clicking with for whatever reason. I really liked that the interview portion came first so that I could fully focus on the afternoon presentations and group discussions. Overall it started with a very formal, semi-intimidating feel but very quickly the faculty and students went out of their way to help everyone relax and feel welcomed! Congrats on getting an II!! I’m sure you’ll love it.

This will my first MMI style interview so I'm a bit nervous. I'm glad to hear it isn't as intimidating as it sounds! I noticed the interview day schedule on their site had "11:30 Conversation with Medical School Faculty Member" is that a separate interview apart from MMI or was it more of like a group Q/A? I really wanted to learn more about their Rural Physician Associate Program (RPAP) and their Education in Pediatrics Across the Continuum program (EPAC).

You do have a separate, more traditional interview, but for me that came before the MMI. Right before lunch we had a faculty member present his research and field some questions about the medical school in general. Very casual vibe for our interview day. They give a curriculum presentation in the afternoon and they’ll be more than happy to answer any questions about RPAP and EPAC then. The students who eat lunch with you are also great resources if you want a different perspective on some of those alternative clerkships like RPAP, MetroPAP or HeLIX

For those of y'all who received an II on or after 10/10, did the U ever send you the email with dates to schedule? Or just the 10/16 update?

Just the 10/16 update. I was going to give it until tomorrow before I reached out. He did say by the end of last week or the beginning of this week. Hopefully soon! I'm worried about getting a date in Jan/Feb when winter is full throttle! lol

Looks like the update just came. Sadly, dates are still unavailable but they except them to be sometime in January or later. I was hoping to take advantage of the airfare sale but will miss out 🙁

Congrats! I'm wondering if you know .... what happens if you get accepted to both Duluth and TC? I was accepted to Duluth last week and I paid the $110 deposit. But I also interviewed at TC last week, and I liked it a lot.

Did they tell you at either of your interviews? It's weird, because it's one school with two campuses that have totally separate interviewing processes.

They did not outright outline the process, but from some conversations it seems like you have to choose by April, 30th just like any other school. Duluth said they lose a lot of students to the twin cities, as in the applicants got into both campuses, but ultimately chose TC. Apparently that situation alone accounts for a good chunk of their wait list movement. You can be accepted to both campuses or accepted at one and wait-listed at the other, or whatever combination you can dream up. After that, it's your decision. So, it's pretty different from MCW or University of Illinois where they just assign you to a campus.

Congratulations to BOTH of you!!!
I interviewed at Duluth last week. When did ya'll interview? And how many weeks before they made a decision?

Is there a way to check the status of your application?

Waitlisted both TC and Duluth. Blah.
Talk about heartbreaking feeling coming off work at UoM Masonic, hearing from one of my surgeons saying she thinks I'm going to get in, then getting in the car, checking phone and then seeing the WL letter. 🙁

I was rejected this afternoon. OOS, 514, non-trad, complete 8/29. Honestly it just feels good to hear something from anyone - the waiting is the hardest part.

Interview dates just released. Looks like just dates in January available... mostly Tues/Thursday each week! Maybe I'll bump into some of you all there! 😀 Jan 9 and 16th backup 😀

got my interview date for the TC- Jan. 4 🙂

Did they email you? Or was it something on the portal?

Any in staters stuck in limbo land at the Twin Cities campus? No II no rejection? I've been complete since 8/15, LizzyM 68.

+1 I received the email with the link to available dates. On the page you're navigated to, it says to pick at least 2 dates and then wait for confirmation of your preferred day prior to making travel arrangements. So heads up!

Oh no! I selected only one. Do you think I should email him?

Couldn't hurt! I'm sure Mr. Belinski would understand.

Submitted 8/24 to TC....no secondary??
Did you meet their MCAT minimums? If so, email them and ask. Mine took three weeks and I emailed them thinking I had lost it in spam. They sent it immediately after.

Recent people getting II's to the Twin cities: when was your secondary in?

Submitted my secondary 9/16. II email on 10/10 - but still no email with the dates that other posters mentioned. Definitely starting to freak out and wonder if my II was a mistake. My portal thing says app received for the status. Hmmm!

My portal status hasn't changed at all so I wouldn't worry about that. It could be that they are trying to interview some portions of the 10/10 group first. Out of curiosity, were you also OOS, URM, and non-trad?

OOS and non-trad but ORM. No ties to the state so I was pleasantly surprised to get an II and really hoping it wasn't some kind of mistake! This process is so strange sometimes. Glad to know the status is nothing to worry about, thanks!

hey everyone!

I'm joining a little late but i was complete 9/1 and have not heard back though I am eagerly waiting. good luck and hope to see some of you should I be lucky enough to interview here

I doubt it was a mistake. Everyone I saw that got the invite during this round was OOS and non-trad so it follows a ‘pattern’. This process makes all of us a bit neurotic. I recommend emailing Mr. Belinski if you haven’t already.

Thanks! It’s hard not to worry a lot, esp when reading the threads here.

I did email and he said I’d be getting the dates on Monday! Really excited to interview here!

Thank you for emailing! I am in this same boat of being nervous + no email about dates, so I appreciate this!
