This was one of the most stressful interviews I have experienced. I'm sure it depends on who interviews you but the standardized questions are actually pretty tough to answer and can throw you off if you are not prepared - no matter how nice your interviewers are. My interviewers were very intense. It was also very obvious that they did not read my application which in my eyes sheds a very negative light on the school. The facilities are older but still nice, the students were friendly but did not seem overly happy - that concerns me a little bit. It seems like a solid program overall but it gave me somewhat of a negative vibe. To all those who are interviewing soon: feel free to message me if you want know more about the interview day & the specific questions asked. I'd be more than happy to help.

It's a facade, they're just seeing how you'll respond.

You have to consider those 4th year students' perspective. It's 8 a.m. on a Sunday morning in 4th year. If you're like I was as a pre-med, I had no idea that 4th year is basically a completely free year, especially at OU. After 3 years of hard work, you get to do whatever you want for basically the whole year, and many of those 4th years are probably regretting volunteering to come in so early on a weekend (or come in at all; I haven't been to the hospital in months) or are stressed out over their own residency interview process which is going on currently.

TL;DR: 4th years everywhere are checked out at this point, and I can promise you that everybody I know of in my class is extremely happy at OU

Are there individuals that can identify someone in real life based on their GPA/MCAT, etc? Must've missed that mutant in the Marvel universe...
It's so that I don't have that info out there in case someone knows me thru alternative methods (i.e. we meet at an interview). It has already happened, otherwise I wouldn't be so paranoid.

Yes, I was trying to figure out if it's legit or not. Turns out, it is. So I guess I'm the first acceptance in this thread!
Thought Dr. Baker said midway into December but before Christmas they'd let us know, admissions decision a week later seems fishy, but then again, I'm just a guy on the internet, what do I know...

Those who were accepted. Did you interview on Oct. 27th or 29th?

Still waiting for an interview invite from here, but a friend told me that all MS1s get new laptops? Did they talk about this during the visits? And do you know what kind, I’m kind of a tech buff haha
I️ would say the majority of us got new laptops. I️ got the new MacBook Pro. Seems like most people have Macs and I️ haven’t had any issues with compatibility. Also, you are required to get your computer encrypted which can slow down older computers.

To those that were accepted, did you also sign up for the Community Medicine track or just for the OKC one?

Did you already have your Tulsa interview? If so have you received any information regarding that one?

It's really relaxed. They'll pretty much ask questions along the lines of "why community medicine?" and ask you about what experiences you have that demonstrate a willingness to serve your community. The whole interview is about 30 minutes long, and it's with two interviewers at once. Mine had a Tulsa physician and the dean of admissions of the SCM. I did mine on a date separate from the OKC interview, and I honestly would have probably had no issues with doing them both on the same day.

I have a question about the scheduling. I was invited to interview for both and need to do them on the same day since I'm flying in from OOS. But there doesn't seem to be a way to schedule it in the portal. It just has a button to opt out of the SCM track but no way to indicate that I'm doing them in the same day. What was your scheduling experience? Feel free to pm me if it's easier. Thank you!

You have to schedule the OKC interview first, then the scheduler will update and display the SCM dates. The only way to figure out which dates they're offering interviews to both is by emailing admissions or calling them.

Congrats to those accepted and receiving interviews. For those receiving interviews last week, what were the interview dates available? Thanks!

Got my acceptance email last week one week after interview on 10/27. Was really surprised that they gave them out that early. IS, GPA was only 3.42. Don't give up, y'all can do it!

Since I have the same GPA, do you mind if I ask what your MCAT score was?
Otherwise, congrats! That's so great to hear this early!

I got a 514- definitely the reason they even interviewed me. Lots of community service as well! Still shocked to hear so early with that GPA though.

That's good to hear! I got a 513, so it gives me hope! Did you apply for the SCM track as well or just OKC?

Applied for both and was offered both- chose OKC (family from around here)

Those who got recent interview invites, what dates are available? I have a 508 MCAT and 3.7ish GPA so I'm hoping on interviewing soon in the next few weeks. For OKC and Tulsa

Not sure of specific dates since I don't have access to the scheduler anymore, but October 27th was the first interview day so there's plenty of slots and dates still available.

Based on some people that I know who interviewed from 10/27-10/29 (my date was 10/29) and people from this thread, seems like those who heard back have 513+ MCATs. Did you all hear back on 11/3? I haven't heard anything yet, does this mean possible waitlist/rejection?

I have over a 513, but someone I know who interviewed on 10/27 who is also over 513 hasn't heard back yet. I have no clue why so few of us heard back.

I'm over 513. Interviewed 10/29 and haven't heard anything. I'm trying not to draw any conclusions. Who knows what it means

My rationalization is that they're doing in-state apps first and I'm out of state. I don't really believe it but it kind of helps

Yeah it's just hard to not draw conclusions, thanks for your guys' inputs. Makes me a feel a bit more at ease lol

Received interview invitation yesterday. There were November and December dates open. IS 506, 3.8sGPA.
