Am I correct in that if we call them, they would tell us our waitlist spot? Or even tier?

I remember them saying they don't have people ranked on waitlist (aka can't tell you that you're #17 to get accepted next) but they should be able to say tier and I'm shocked it didn't come with the initial decision

Gotcha, yea that makes sense! I think I'll call around noon (after my meetings) and report back to those who were waitlisted as well.

ok I just called admissions -- "the committee will be evaluating everyone on the waitlist." I responded with "so they decided not to categorize into tiers this year" and she said "yes"

You da real MVP. And hmmmmmmm so it's a ranked waitlist this year.. gotcha gotcha.

For those waitlisted what does the application status say?
“The Admissions Committee of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine has decided to place you on the waitlist at this time. In the spring, the Committee will be giving your application further consideration and begin offering admission to the applicants on the wait list.”

WL as well. I wish they kept the tiers - then we would know where we stand and if it was even worth holding onto hope. For ex 2nd tier was basically no movement, 1st tier had reasonable movement. But now nobody on WL knows our chances.

Waitlisted and no financial aid status. Congratulations to all who got accepted!!

For WL peeps (me included), this is what I found:

Feb 24, 2017, first person accepted off waitlist
Mar 03, 2016, first person accepted off waitlist
Fed 23, 2015, first person accepted off waitlist
Mar 28, 2014, first person accepted off waitlist

Now, this could be different since there aren't tiers anymore, but probably around late Feb would be my guess?

Waitlisted and no financial aid status

Well played Pitt, well played.

WL. I wonder how many people are on the list...seems like a lot

I am guessing most people who get rejected don't use sdn or won't post they got rejected. I saw a similar pattern in last year's thread.
