I've had a similar experience with a couple of schools I interviewed at previously. It seems like those schools aren't really interested in seeing me again. But other schools that I am a re-app to but didn't get an II previously have shown interest this cycle.

Such a crap shoot. Don't let it get you guys down!

I'm not a fan of the location and their interviewers and a couple of their students weren't the nicest when I interviewed there, so they're not at the top of my list anyway.

I don't know if that's true, I was rejected pre-interview last year but interviewed here just a few weeks ago. But then again, n=1...

I've heard the same thing from friends who interviewed here in past years (that students/people in general weren't very friendly). It's a little concerning but I'd still like to find out for myself

I got a serious gunner vibe from a few of the people in my interview group as well. They're honestly my last choice for schools in Michigan.

This doesn't really make much sense tbh. I had the "College Transcript" tab on my application the second I submitted. I wonder how it would look scheduling an interview from there? All it says is that you're supposed to submit your transcripts after you gain an acceptance....o.o

I probably shouldn't have posted that...I got their secondary one day after I got it from all the other schools. I also checked my e-mails from last year and saw the same thing happened then too. Sorry, guys. I should've calmed down instead of freaking out and posting that.

That being said, I still haven't gotten any interviews either, and I interviewed/got waitlisted here last year.

This was the complete opposite from my experience. When I interviewed last year the students were incredibly friendly and helpful and had a great talk with us nervous interviewees. They told us a lot about the area and the program and not to be nervous since it was a very laid-back interview, which they were right about. The interviewers were even friendlier; maybe I just got lucky with my interviewer but he was the nicest guy I could've expected. The interview didn't even seem that formal or serious, it just felt like a normal conversation between a physician and a student.

Not quite sure what you mean. The poster I was replying to, midwesternblot, had said that he did not see a new tab (for scheduling interviews) appear in his portal underneath the tab for transcripts, although a previous poster claimed to have gotten one. I replied that I did not have a new tab appear either, and that my app was still under review, possibly since I was complete later than the other posters were. That's all.
 
To those who have been admitted, what did you portal status change to? Was it "med school admit" ???

I was just saying I found it odd in general cause I had a tab (though not clickable) from the beginning. Not specifically at you 🙂
 
Does anyone else have "Med School Admit (MA)" on their portal? 😵
 
For those with the Med School Admit status -- did you already have your interviews and around when if you did?

I also haven't received an II yet... went from Med School In Review (MR) since submission to Med School Admit (MA) yesterday. Honestly makes me wonder if it's intentional or just a systems glitch? Though that'd be a very cruel systems glitch lol

Maybe their finger slipped and they meant to change it to invite to interview 😍 I'm expecting it to go back to review though lol
 
Hey guys! Does anyone have an idea of what the post-interview acceptance rate is like? And the earliest acceptances can only be Oct 15th for regular applicants nationwide, correct?

For those of you that got interview invites, when were you complete?
 
Was it through email or updated in portal? I was complete 8/14 and still nada.

My email has been funky lately (tried sending emails to myself from other accounts and werent getting them but some emails still come through) so Ive been relying mostly on the portals.

I haven't been able to check the portal since my interview appointment hasn't been confirmed with them yet, but yes it gets updated both via e-mail and on the portal. However, the e-mail is where you receive the link to schedule the appointment, your login information, etc.
 
For everyone who got interview invites today, did you all receive them via email or did some of you find out via portal. I know from looking at past posts that some were emailed and some only found out because they happened to check their portal, but all were able to schedule their interviews. Was just curious if one way was more "legit" than the other

I received an email and then scheduled my interview date through the portal.

After you scheduled it did it say your confirmation email was sent to your (username)@wayne.edu email address or your actual one?

Yes! It changed on the 13th to "Invite to Interview" and I got the email the same day. Looks like I just beat them to the punch. My interview has been scheduled.
