does anyone know how many people according to last year were on the waitlist?? if 25 got taken off

I honestly dont feel that is accurate. They sold us like.. 1/3 of my class (class of 2020) came off the WL. There seems to be a lot of movement as a lot of people seem to withdraw their acceptances for other options. This said, I don’t know what subsequent classes were told, even so, I feel like 25 is a really small number and DUCOM has way more movement than that.

The news about Hahnemann is kind of scary. Isn’t that the main teaching hospital for 3rd year?

I'm pretty sure its one of the hospitals students can rotate in. There are others though, including outside of the Philly area. Maybe @ciestar could provide input?

How to Induce Delirium in Individuals Whom are Predisposed to Neuroticism 101: "Decisions will now be released on a rolling basis "

Nobody out at Kaiser is there if they didn’t want to be. Only 20 students rotate there a year.

As for getting a spot in/near Philly, it depends on your luck in the lottery. Most people want to do their rotations close to the city but that obviously isn’t feasible. So, unless you get an all-year spot at Abington or Crozer (there are all-year sites at York, Allegheny General, Reading (this won’t be an option in a few years), and Kaiser-Sacramento as well), you could end up having to move around and have rotations in York, Easton, Reading, Harrisburg, Pittsburgh, and even Erie for FM. There are quite a few more local spots as well: Hahnemann, St Chris, Mercy Fitzgerald, Mercy Philadelphia, Virtua, St Francis, Abington, and Crozer.

Main? Ehh, arguable. They have more spots there than any other site, but for example, for the EM sub-i, HUH has 8 spots a block, and the others have spots for 2, 3, or 4 per block (and there are 9 sites).

See my post above about rotation spots.

For my M3 and M4, i would have had ONE two-week rotation at HUH. That’s it. Yes, losing HUH (they’re apparently doing everything in their power for St. Chris) will majorly impact students and rotations. Losing a home hospital would be a problem. Yes, people are worried.

Damn that makes me semi-reluctant to attend Drexel

Just got the WL email - interviewed early December and deferred in March

WL email after being deferred earlier....

Okay so I thought being deferred was the same thing as waitlisted but apparently not. Anyone care to explain this? Lol

What they told me during interview was that when they were doing monthly reviews (every third Thursday) they would defer applicants that they did not feel they were ready to make a decision on yet. No one was being waitlisted at that point. However, with the new rules people needed ti know what decision was made on them more promptly (A,R,WL) so they are waitlisting people now.

Basically deferred meant ur decision was pushed to a later date. Waitlist means your acceptance depends on how many spots open up.

Hey, guys. For those who need to do FBI fingerprinting and are outside of Philadelphia.
So, i live in virginia. I went to IdentoGO website, picked Virginia. None of the offices there had Digital Fingerprinting option. BUT i CALLED them, and they said that they actually do them, it is just not listed on the website. So my advice, - call them, and schedule appointment over the phone at your local office, (for those who are not travelling to PA to do them), tell them that you need to do FBI fingerprinting because you need it for medical school. They call it "FBI background check" for some reason. I did that, showed up at the local IdentoGO office, got fingerprinted today at 930 am. THey told me that my report will be delivered via email within 72 hours. I was not sure if this is the right report, because it needs "arrests with desposition", - those guys had NO IDEA what i was talking about. So i decided to go for it anyway. By noon my report was already in my email box!!!! when i got home at 2 pm i called drexel to make sure it is the right report, emailed it to them, and the lady on the phone said that this is the right report. It is literally just one page summary. ONE IMPORTANT NOTE: when ppl in Identogo ask you if you need all 50 states, or just your state, make sure you say you need all 50 states.

So, just like that, you can do it within 24 hours. If you do physical fingerprint card that takes weeks, - do not do it!

does it say on the site if they have the digital? Theres a TSA pre check one near me but I dont see anywhere that says digital. I also work in a hospital that has digital so Im wondering if they could somehow scan those and send it to the identogo place

Where is the info about the fingerprinting? I haven't gotten anything and was accepted a long time ago.

if you do to the portal, - the same one where your secondary application is, there is pre-matriculation tab on top. Click on it. When you do, the page that opens will have a list of things on the left: from top to bottom - Welcome, Checklist, Pick up your Drexel account, etc. One of the last ones is "FBI Fingerprinting Report" .Click on that

Is Drexel receptive to LOI? And is it okay to send additional updates post interview by email if we already used up our update letter spot on the portal?

I don't think they accept LOI, but someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. Also, do they send out acceptances via email or do they call?

Email. Also, I cannot imagine any school would not want to know if you intend on going there if accepted

I had schools tell me that they don't care about letters of intent before you're accepted, I thought Drexel was one of those.

Drexel don’t care about LOI just like many other schools. Don’t waste your time. If they like you, they will accept you. Desperation isn’t always cute everyone lol

Yes and yes. Just show genuine interest by explaining why you are a good fit for them and why they are a good fit for you

I sent a LOI after being deferred and was then accepted. I’m not sure you know what you’re talking about

If anyone has sent a second update through email, did you get back any confirmation that it was received and entered into your AMP? Just wondering because it's been a week since I've sent mine and I'm not sure if they've seen it lol

Realistically, what are the odds of more II being offered? They've interviewed and waitlisted a bunch of other applicants, do they really think extending II to students will result in outright extending an Acceptance to those newly interviewed persons over those who have been waitlisted?

they didn't respond, but I saw it uploaded on the portal

My apologies! You’re right, what do I know. My statement was mostly geared towards people who hadn’t received a decision yet. If you’re are a deferred applicant, it would make sense to try.

I also emailed additional updates but didn't see them uploaded on the portal - would it be worth it to check by calling or something?
