Can anyone comment on the differences between the two campuses?
Incoming M1 at LKSOM in about a month! One Campus is in the urban area of North Philadelphia and one is in a much quieter area with a smaller class size. I chose the main campus because the population in the area (quite underserved) is exactly the population I hope to serve once I am a physician.

This is the site for St. Lukes
Temple/St. Luke’s School of Medicine

I personally don't know much about that campus except it's much smaller and while I wouldn't refer to it as rural, its much quieter.

Just got the secondary! Just FYI, it looks like they have to get the CASPER results before your app is marked complete

Probably not. It wouldn’t let me do step 2 either. I don’t think we need to do that. I took it as admissions started it for you.

Nope, only thing I can think of is my app being incomplete since my CASPer scores haven't arrived yet.
It could be a glitch too. My Casper scores aren’t in yet (as far as I know) but I could at least go to the app

When I try to save the essays I get, "There was an error, please see the system administrator!" and this is the third school in a row that hasn't let me submit :grumpy:

Has anyone successfully submitted this one?

JK figured this one out-- their character count must have been slightly off from Microsoft Word's or something because as soon as I edited one of my responses down slightly everything worked fine.

How're people writing the ' why this campus' essay? I can't find too much info on the difference between them
Bethlehem has a population of 76,000. Philadelphia has a population of 1.5 million. Their differences in population means that their demographics and culture differ.

You probably won't meet as many young professionals in Bethlehem as you would in Philadelphia, for example.

Sure but it's not my dating options that I'm worried about lol. The programs themselves probably vary but there's little info on the differences between them for us to write a detailed response on which one is our top choice

^Good point! Maybe you can call ask them? Or perhaps current students looking through the thread might have some input.

Guys, just be honest! They know that the programs are similar so why do you REALLY want the campus? The only difference is the clinical rotation part since, all the lectures are in Philly anyways. I was honest and said it's closer to my family. I wrote that I love city life. I wrote that I prefer to stay in the same area for 4 years instead of 2 years in philly, and 2 years in Bethlehem. Literally be honest! Why is it your first choice if it's your first choice? Do you prefer serving an area thats underserved or one that is not? This isn't a trick question, they are just looking for you to be real

^I don't think honesty is the problem here, it's that medschoolzombie felt like she didn't have enough information to answer the question lol

Ya honesty isn't the issue. For those of us who aren't from the Philly area, we can't use the ''it's close to home'' reasoning and we can't answer why do you REALLY want the campus part with little to no info on the differences between them. If there's virtually no difference, then it would be a waste of time and money for the school to invest so much into it. There is a difference, we just need a current student to tell us what it is

Well I didn't know the difference when I wrote it and things worked out ok, my only point was to be creative and not to worry about knowing more than what's on the respective websites. I didn't say you had to say exactly what I said, especially if you aren't from the area, I just thought I'd share my experience in case it sparked an idea. My bad. When I was at my interview last year they said there really isn't much of a difference at the other locations except the population (not underserved really), class size, and location (more suburban). Hopefully a current student can give you the answers you're looking for. Good luck

Do you HAVE to report SAT/ACT scores or is that whole section optional?

Is anyone else having trouble saving their application after putting in their essays? Mine keeps saying "there was an error, please see a system administrator"

Update: tried shortening them by a few characters and pasting directly from Word, and the message went away!

Trying to answer essay prompt #3, chose "Temple University Health System and Affiliates" as my first option - would this be considered the clinical location?

Are there any current students here that can explain what they like most about this school/what type of characteristics they value?

How much did you guys write for the "why this campus" question? Like others have mentioned, there really isn't much info out there on the differences between the two and I just wanted to talk about why one area appeals to me over the other... Not sure if this will hit 2000 characters though.

Well this is awkward. I’m around 1700 characters
