ll today! LM 75 IS, complete yesterday

so excited!
Congrats! When you say complete yesterday, do you mean you submitted all your credentials/secondary yesterday? Or did you receive another complete email after submitting all the required materials?

I submitted my secondary July 16th, got a an email saying my file was completely shortly after.

Hey, I received the complete email on 08/27 but I submitted everything in on 08/19.

Does anyone know if Buffalo offers student hosts on interview days?

Hoping for an interview here but haven't heard anything since being complete about a month ago. Does UB have any preference for SUNY grads?

I’ve heard SUNYs tend to like SUNY undergrads. Most likely the case because those are the only schools I’ve heard from.

Weirdly enough I haven't received love from upstate/buff (only SUNY's I applied to) even though I'm a SUNY grad but got an II elsewhere. I really like Buffalo though so hopefully I hear back at some point...

It was an amazing city to go to school in. Fun culture, summers a beautiful, outdoor concerts, and i was working right next to the new medical school when it was being opened. Looks amazing.

M1 here. The review process for receiving an interview here is completely independent of the date you were complete. They use a random review, so do not take the timing personally. If you are an applicant that brings something special to the table they will want to get to know more about you.

Did you guys receive a complete email after submitting the secondary? I didn't pay the fee because I was given the Fee Assistance Waiver. When I click on the link in the email, it says I can submit my secondary still?

Anybody interview here wanna give a general overview of interview day? That would be very much appreciated!

Very long day. Tour is way too long and detailed (2-2.5 hours). Then about an hour meeting with a dean where you watch a video, she gives a talk, and then you write an essay. Next is lunch with students, and from there, faculty come and pick out individuals for the first interview. After, you go to a student lounge and wait for a medical student to come grab you for the second interview.

How long do you have to write the essay? Was it very abstract?

What’s the essay about? (If you’re allowed to talk.) if not, what was the general idea of the essay?

Do you think we’ll be done by 5? I jumped the gun and got a 6:45 flight home

They ask in the beginning if anyone has a flight to catch and if so, they will move you up in the interview order. I was one of the first to go and I was done around 3:30.

I'm not sure if I can say exactly what it is. If you just think about a typical essay question on a secondary, that's similar to what it is. For example, along the lines of forecasting what type of physician you aspire to be.

I think it was 15 minutes. And it was a pretty standard medical school admissions question. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

It took a while for them to send a confirmation email. But you can check your status through here:

I checked my status and it says:

Current Status: Secondary Application Received

Application Complete: No.

Do you know how long it takes for the status to change to Complete?

After you pay for the secondary and send it in, it shouldn't take more than 2-3 days.

Pass/fail + brand new campus? Oh yeah
If they are still internally ranking, than it's significantly less beneficial. Also, the new medical school is definitely nice and pretty, but it isn't super functional. Most of the space is dedicated for research labs. The actual part accessible to you is on the first, second and seventh floor (anatomy lab).Their is a library and 2 computer labs, but they are SUPER small. Just food for thought.

Hey guys! New to SDN - my first post. I sent in my secondary in end of July, interview offered end of August, for a September date. LM score of 73.

Interview day is as follows: 2 hour tour. Got to see the library, study areas, group work rooms, lecture halls, anatomy lab, clinical learning areas. Speech where they talk about Buffalo and what UB has to offer. You have an essay, its 10 minutes long so write concisely. After you have lunch with students, and then first interviewer comes to get you. After first interview, go to a commons area with students and then second person gets you. You might get interviewed by student FYI. Third interview possible but extremely uncommon. Felt like the interviews went great -- hoping to hear some good news! LMK if you guys have any questions.

II this morning. The interview is scheduled for 11/14.

So are the two sets of interviews (one with the dean, the other with the students if I am correct) traditional interviews?

Two interviews (possibly three but extremely likely). At least one is with clinical or science faculty member (or dean/assistant dean of admissions), and possibly a student for second interview.

All to my understanding.

Correct

Y’all counting down til Monday?

Expecting R. Hoping for at least WL. Praying for Acceptance.

Why would you expect an R when you have a LM of 72 and had one of the earliest possible interviews to hear back by Monday? Come on now. Optimism wins.

Congrats to those accepted!! When did you guys interview, if I may ask?
