2018-2019 Wayne State University

Sorry if this question has already been answered but if I still haven't gotten an II by now, am I basically out?

Would you mind explaining what these new rules are? I'm so curious as to how they might be affecting invite times

I think they affect post II decisions more. Basically schools were able to see how many other acceptances their acceptancees have and they use this to estimate how many people wil withdraw their offer and hence how many more they should extend an offer to. But now they don't have access to this info so they have to be more careful with how many acceptances they offer since they might over fill their class. I believe this would make decisions take longer to make and also increase the number of waitlisted ppl.

From reading this thread a month or so ago I'm fairly certain this means nothing, but my portal finally says SC instead of MR. I was complete early September. I guess this means I at least know they managed to get to my application this cycle, right?

Were you ever on SS? Are you IS or OOS?
I’ve been complete early September too. Still on MR lol.

Yes I was 11/2. I know i’m being Impatient, I just want to know whether I’m accepted or not so that my girlfriend can zero in on where to apply for work for next year.

Me and my gf interviewed 11/2 and one of us heard back and the other didn't yet. So we are also patiently waiting haha, best of luck!

Nice, you are a lucky guy. You have a II and a gf, something many of us premeds will never have
Seriously that's like winning the lottery right there when you take into account the probability of both of them interviewing at the same school on the same day. Must be nice lol

Stressing out here, interviewed 10/19 LM 68 IS what are the chances I'm getting the R?

I interviewed a few days after you and am in the same boat. I contacted Admissions and they told me a response should come by the end of December. Hoping it’s sooner because I’m also stressing.

Did they give you a reason as to why we’re hearing back so late?

Lmao, so my status is on SC right now but it gives me the option to schedule an interview. Does everyone have that option even if there is no formal status/email for II?

edit: Called and I got a II! yes!!!!!

How does an II look like without change in status or email?

I checked the portal on a whim and a option for scheduling and interview was there, with dates and everything. I called them and they said that I got an II and that it might take some time for the email to reach me!

Wow this school has been ruthless, hasn't changed my status in months and everytime I ask admissions they say "your file is in the process of being reviewed."

Yeah, I have been stuck on MR for over 2 months now. I would not be surprised to hear that this has also been the case for people who were complete in July/August.

Just got an II. However I am wondering if it is worth going here when the tuition is 70,000 for OOS students - any current students want to comment?
In-state M2 here. OOS tuition is expensive, but I think its somewhat comparable to a lot of school's OOS tuition. If you haven't been accepted to other programs, or have been and are considering Wayne as well, you should definitely go to the interview. It's a great program and an amazing place to train. If you've already gotten accepted elsewhere and know you don't want to go here, then no point. Don't let the high cost of med school be a reason you defer an opportunity to become a physician.

does wayne accept updates? if so, should i upload to the portal or email? this is Post-II, waitlisted

Just checked the portal today and I have an II! No e-mail, nothing... lol. Last time I checked a couple weeks ago I was in SC, if it matters. Also, there are still open dates throughout January and February!

You got waitlisted? When did you interview and hear back? Also yes, you should upload to the portal I called and asked the admissions office about it a few weeks ago
