Thanks! Do you know when their last II day is? And if they accept letters of interest?
This is what they said in the virtual fair: " Our last interview day is March 8, and we are currently finalizing the list of interviewees".
One of the reps also said: " We are currently done offering interviews pending confirmation from those that have received the offer. If there are spots that open up and you are offered one of these spots, you will soon receive confirmation by email".

I got an II February 15 at 3 AM! Only dates available were March 1 and March 8.
Can somebody tell me how your day is like on interview day? It seems pretty long, so if someone can tell me what you do throughout the day, it would be much appreciated!

There are two groups, one begins the day earlier, one begins the day later - I was in the later group. In the later group, we took a guided tour of Detroit (in a bus), had lunch with current medical students, took a tour of the medical school, and then took photos to be used as ID photo should we receive an accepted. After photos we were transported by bus to another building in which the interviews were to be held. There are three components to the interview - MMI (30 minutes), student interview (30 minutes), and faculty interview (up to 60 minutes). We were split into three groups, that rotated through the different types of interviews in different orders. For example I did student interview --> MMI --> faculty interview. Then we got back on the bus and were transported back to Mazurek where we were dismissed. If I remember correctly we were dismissed by ~3:30pm.

To my understanding the difference between the earlier and later group is that the early group does the interview first, and then the tours etc whereas the later group does the interview last.

I signed up for the earlier time, but I just wanted a layout of what to expect throughout the day, so thank you! So, I'm assuming you ended earlier than what they tell you because I heard the later group finished at 5 pm?
Just one more question: how long was it until you heard back?

For me it was about two weeks, but I've heard of people hearing back as soon as two days, or as long as 6 weeks. If I'm remembering correctly, they told us 4 weeks on interview day.

I interviewed in January and it's been 4+ weeks and I haven't heard back yet. It depends though because I met a girl at another interview who got in a week after her wayne interview.

The trend seems to be the longer wayne takes to get back the higher the odds of a WL. I've only seen people get acceptances before 4 weeks so far, at 4 weeks is a toss up, and at 6 weeks seems like you're looking at a WL. I got my WL at about 6 weeks after my interview. But nothing is set in stone until you hear from wayne themselves, so idk how much anyone should read into it. Not to mention it seems like most people are expecting a WL heavy cycle across the board with the transparency changes, and most of the action should take place around 4/30 once people start locking in their acceptances and turning others down.

Took almost 2 months for me to hear back that I got in. For anyone waiting a while for a decision, don’t lose hope! And fingers crossed for lots of waitlist movement for those still waiting come April

And there ya go! Exactly why I tried to sandbag my position, anything is possible until you hear back!

Also congrats on the acceptance!

Hi everyone, I'm a Canadian 4th year undergrad in Windsor and I've been accepted to Wayne State for the class entering this July. I wanted to ask around to see if anyone knows what sort of options are available to me as a Canadian for financial aid going to an american school, I looked into FAFSA which isn't an option to non-americans and wanted to know if anybody knew what my eligibility regarding possible scholarships or other forms of financial aid might be!

Thanks in advance, any help is super appreciated!
private student loans from banks? wells fargo, citizens

What is second look day?
It's a day where applicants (usually with multiple acceptances) can come and take a second look at the school. This is especially helpful in cases where the interview day wasn't sufficient in providing information on all of the available resources that the school has to offer. Plus, they usually offer you an opportunity to talk to current med students about their experiences so that applicants can make a more informed decision about where they want to go.

To push back on that a little more, I was WL'd within two weeks of my interview in December.
