Normally the week before thanksgiving. Used to be TMDSAS was 11/15 and Baylor waited a few days.Mid November
Looks like they just accidentally left that one out.not true. My assigned date was Jan 17 2020

Yeah I am shocked about the date. Hopefully the interview goes well!
No socials are ever mandatory for medical school. Is the student social the night before mandatory?
Hey there! This is a school specific thread so it's just for questions relating to Baylor. I would try posting in this in the main Pre-med section fo SDN so that everyone is able to see it, and respond to your questions.Hello! I'm sorry I'm new to this so I'm just replying to this with my own problem that I need help in. I'm currently in community college and I have taken quite a few classes and wish to take most of the major classes like physics 1, bio 1 & 2, calc and general chemistry 1 & 2 this upcoming year, Spring 2020. I am thinking if applying to med school in July of 2020 is a good idea for me or not. I have a 4.0 gpa in science classes and a cumulative gpa of 3.85. I plan on taking my MCAT in January/March of 2020. I am very hopeful that I will do good because I'm very strong in my sciences and math. I have a lot of volunteering hours, clinical and non clinical and paid (3000+ all together). I am also starting to scribe and I have 60 hours of experience, shadowing 4 specialities. And I am starting research next semester, as well. How strong of a candidate would I be for med school? Would med schools consider taking me or not at all? Do you think it's better that I wait till 2021, after completing my bachelors then apply or would it be worth it to try in any Texas Med Schools? Please help! I'd love all the feedback I could get. Thank you!
I highly doubt anyone spoofed their number.I know that Baylor calls when they give out admissions and so I recently got a call from their general number (713) 798-4951 but didn't get the chance to pick it up. I called the number back and they said to check if I got a voice mail and I hadn't so she said to just wait until I get a voice mail to call back. Was this a mistake call or was I getting called by spammers who spoofed their number? Has this happened to anyone else?
And they dont do it this early unless they changed their process to align with TMDSAS.I highly doubt anyone spoofed their number.
If Baylor has said what you should and should not do, best follow their lead.So I wanted to send them a letter of intent, and I have some updates (mainly a publication in the works but nothing concrete yet), but Baylor states they do not accept post-II updates. Should I try to slip them in the LOI? Should I even send an LOI? Asking for a friend, Baylor’s my top choice and I just wanna do anything I still can to maximize my chances here!
And they dont do it this early unless they changed their process to align with TMDSAS.
So did they just accidentally call my number lol? Why they got to get my hopes up for nothing 🙁At my interview, the dean of admissions said they would not start releasing acceptances until mid November this year, so I don’t think they’re aligning with TMDSAS. At least not yet lol
According to MSAR the earliest date acceptance sent is October 1st
This brochure covers a lot but you can read about examples in “community” and clinical experiences. https://media.bcm.edu/documents/2019/af/bcm-school-of-medicine-brochure.pdfCan any current BCM students, or others in-the-know (maybe @wysdoc) , comment on the quantity and quality of community service opportunities offered here? I’m looking on the website and see that there’s a lot of community outreach done by BCM as a whole, but I’m wondering which of these are open to students and in what capacity they are involved. Things like free clinics, community education, etc. Thanks!
Current Baylor student. Baylor has longitudinal volunteer opportunities for medical students denoted as “Service Learning Projects” that allows you the option to enter previously established roles with organizations that serve the greater Houston area in a variety of ways. Completion will award you a designation on your residency letter. From what I’ve seen over half the class is participating. Can any current BCM students, or others in-the-know (maybe @wysdoc) , comment on the quantity and quality of community service opportunities offered here? Hey for those of you in the area, or who have travelled there for an interview already, I was wondering if you could help me out. I basically have two choices for my return flight. I could either spend an extra night in Houston and then fly back the day after, or I could take an 8:15pm flight from IAH back home. The online page says the interview day should last until 6pm, but it is not very clear with the discriptions. Since it is kind of broad, I was hoping I could get some insight. Does the interview day usually end right on time, early or late? And if it were to end right on time, do you think that I would have enough time to catch my flight? Since I have never been to the area, and know nothing about what traffic is like there around that time in the evening I was hoping to get input from you all! Online maps tell me it should only be a 30min drive, so hopefully that is accruate but depending on when rush hour is down there and the general traffic flow I'm not sure how reliable that time frame is. Thanks in advance for your help!
As far as I know, they may not actually do interviews until 6. I live in the area and usually leave about 2 hours before my flights for IAH. You’ll be fine, especially if you have pre-check (though I think even the regular line isn’t usually bad at IAH)Hey for those of you in the area, or who have travelled there for an interview already, I was wondering if you could help me out. I had to catch a flight the same day as well! Interviews were from 1-4 and after I finished my interview I had to leave to catch my flight. You don't have to stay until the end of the day, and I checked with the students running the day that leaving early for my flight would not influence my interview marks!Hey for those of you in the area, or who have travelled there for an interview already, I was wondering if you could help me out. Nobody here knows the exact time this will happen. Good luck all Baylor interviewees, & stay cool, y'all. Can anyone confirm that the first acceptances go out on 11/15. What time? In batches and how many in each batch? How long between batches- monthly or every 1-2 weeks.? Starting to get anxious. Interviewed in second group. First choice.

Last year first reported acceptance was November 19th. Dean said the admissions committee meets roughly every two weeks but also stated that it’s a rough estimate. It’s best to just try not to worry about it. That’s what I’m telling myself at least. Can anyone confirm that the first acceptances go out on 11/15. What time? In batches and how many in each batch? I'm OOS and I received my II for 1/17/20 on Oct 17th so they are very close to the end if they are not already
Silac, any further information on when the first acceptances will be notified? 3 or 7 days from now?Last year first reported acceptance was November 19th. I’m in the same position you are. The only information I have is what was told to me at my interview day and past years threads. It’s either gonna come or it’s not. I know it’s anxiety provoking but we just have to be patient.Silac, any further information on when the first acceptances will be notified? 3 or 7 days from now?
...and they'll give your A to someone else. For those that interviewed already don’t forget to make sure your name is in your voicemail message. My group was told at our interview day that if your name isn’t said in voicemail that they won’t leave a message.
