Complete 7/23, Lizzy M 68

Sorry to bother, but can you share dates available? I was complete 8/1, so still hopeful! Just wondering how far along they are compared to other schools.

My options were November 4th and 14th. It looks like they don't schedule interviews out too far in advance.

Does anyone know is the admissions office is receptive to emails about applications? I sent in my app over 10-12 weeks ago and my portal status hasn't changed. I know some schools don't like those emails and others are receptive to them (like arizona).
The Loyola website (under faq) states "You may update your application at any time during the cycle through your supplemental portal. Please do not mail/email updates to our office." So I'll say no.

Does anyone who has interviewed know what time the interview day ends?

What are the chances of still receiving an interview from this place? Submitted 7/20 and still with the "under review" status.
The chances of you receiving an interview are either 100 percent or 0 percent. Not trying to be a dick but like you will either get one or you won't and we have no way of knowing that 🙂 keep your head up.

Does anyone who interviewed 2 plus weeks ago still have the “thank you for scheduling your interview”?

Hey Loyola!

Loyola puts in an incredible amount of work to make sure their admissions process is fair and holistic. However, I haven't seen any applicants that fit that description getting interview invites yet this cycle. Is there anyone who's got a II or acceptance who has a MCAT or GPA below their statistical average, but has a strong service background?

Hey I don’t mean to be rude so i hope it doesn’t come accross that way. But how could you possibly know that? Most people on here just post their Lizzy m and complete date.

I interviewed in October with an mcat and gpa right at or below average with a heavy service background. Many many people on my interview day had big service backgrounds too.

This was not meant to offend you or any other applicant because it is not a statement on your background. I was just asking a question. Where the curiosity comes from is, first, by their past statistics, the GPA and MCAT averages are on par with most other MD schools. Second, I was just scanning the thread and hadn't seen any one say anything to the contrary. I am not asserting that it does not happen that an applicant get in based on a service background, I am asking the question if anyone knows of this to be true.

Damnit I just re-read my post. I wasn't trying to be offended or assert anything! It is a valid question that you asked and I was hoping to show that I was one example!

It is hard to communicate on the internet.

Having interviewed at Loyola and Rush which are very holistic and message driven, I can assure you that they are inviting people that care about service and the message of the school.

At Loyola there were probably 15 of us there that day, and they asked everyone to raise there hand about what was most important to them when looking for a med school and 14/15 said mission. If you asked that at my state school for example I think you would have gotten 2 or 3 that said mission.

This whole website makes me very anxious sometimes. I just wanted to throw something out there now that interviews are underway. Congrats on your interview! Its good to hear that almost everyone they invited was on the same page.

I definitely qualify, at least by GPA.

3.53cGPA/3.38 sGPA, 512 MCAT. ORM and OOS. Strong ECs (both service and research). Early interviewee and subsequently accepted.

Loyola receives some of the highest, if not the most, volume of applications every cycle. If they wanted to have 3.8/515+ medians, they easily could. I know “hOlIstIc” is a meme for a lot of schools, but Loyola takes it seriously.

Anyone still in the dark post II? Interviewed early/mid sept and havent gotten CC or anything yet

At my interview date they said to call after 6 weeks — she said it shouldn’t take longer than that.

Interviewed Mid/Late September as well, haven't heard anything. My status was changed to "interview complete" and I was able to submit an update on October 28

Got hit with the accursed “continued consideration” this morning Good luck to everyone in the cycle!

I have this too. Is this a soft rejection or hold with future interview invite potential?

Its essentially a Hard R. They get 15,000 applications and not a single person on last year's thread got a II after getting put on hold.
