This is a great question and one I ran into at Georgetown as well. The Jesuit are as liberal as it gets — when it comes to Catholicism. Unfortunately the Catholic Church draws the line at birth control and abortion, and these schools would lose their catholic charter if they provided it. I understand that it’s frustrating and scary, but I would not take it as a reflection on the environment of the school (it is very Inclusive), but an unfortunate reality of being a catholic institution. (I’m catholic so I understand).I was wondering if any current students/former interviewees could comment on this school's attitude towards birth control. I read that they do not offer birth control to their students but do they offer resources for students/patients at their hospitals to obtain birth control at other locations if they choose to or are they more adamant with the ideology that "only form of birth control is abstinence"? I hope I don't come off as crass, I just don't really know how else to ask!

ExactlyOne of the students on my tour actually brought this up and did say that while the schools clinic will not prescribe birth control for actually baby prevention, a doctor came to their class and told them to just tell a physician/nurse at student health that you get bad cramps and want birth control for it. So it kinda reiterates what the other poster said that to call themselves a Jesuit school they need to follow certain rules, but that doesn’t mean that every staff member has the whole “abstinence is the only form of birth control” mindset.
Edit: this was at Georgetown but I think it generally reflects the mindset/practices at most Jesuit schools
Just now ? Also congrats !!Accepted, call, interviewed November I think
Yup & thanks!Just now ? Also congrats !!
Hey all, just wanted to share I got the phone call about an hour ago. My first acceptance in my second cycle! What a wonderful relief. If I can do it any of you can 🙂! Interviewered in October so if you’re still waiting don’t give up hope.
Nah one of my interviewers didn’t submit my feedback for like 5 weeks lololCongrats! Were you on continued consideration?
Sorry just to clarify- does that mean you have had an interview and are still waiting to hear back?Would it be a bad idea to call admissions tomorrow and ask them if I got accepted in this round of committee meetings? I only ask because I have a deposit due to hold my seat at a school tomorrow and I don't want to shell out 1K if I got into my dream school, Loyola. I am on continued consideration, fyi.
I had an interview, got placed on CC. I know they said they review everyone each time. They might not be giving acceptances to CC ppl at this time so it might be a bit premature. Hope that clears that up.Sorry just to clarify- does that mean you have had an interview and are still waiting to hear back?
Got it! Yeah I haven't even had an interview offer yet...starting to lose hopeI had an interview, got placed on CC. I know they said they review everyone each time. They might not be giving acceptances to CC ppl at this time so it might be a bit premature. Hope that clears that up.
Hi did you have a pre-ll hold?I just received an II and am shocked! I was complete in the July 24 wave and sent them two updates, one in October and one earlier this month.
Available dates are January 21 and 23, both of which will be difficult for me. Does anyone have experience requesting alternative interview days from Loyola?
