2019-2020 LSU New Orleans

Any current students here that were waitlisted twice before getting in? Will there be another NFA meeting in March or April or is May our last shot?

For accepted students.. is there a separate financial aid form for this school or is it just the FAFSA? What about merit-based aid?

So I got NFA’d twice. Is there still even a chance? Is NFA the same as waitlist or more like limbo? I’ve submitted a letter of interest already, should I try submitting a letter of intent as well?

Anyone have any insight on where they are with interviews?

IS and confirmed all the way back in July. Thought I had a decent shot at getting an interview lol

I'm IS and submitted in July as well, and just got my interview invitation 2 weeks ago after months of radio silence. So they are still sending out invites  Good luck!

Does anyone know when second day look/ accepted students day is??
I'm not sure if there is one. The acceptance letter did say they would send an email in the Spring about orientation, financial aid, etc. though. Not sure if that will include Second Look information.

Saluet Apts is pretty popular. Most folks live with roommates and split a house.
I currently live in the Saulet! I enjoy living there, and a lot of med students from both Tulane and LSU NO live there. However, it is really expensive...

Has anyone been accepted into the FB group yet? I requested to join like 2-3 weeks ago now and it's still pending

I was accepted in December and I wasn’t added to the group until the end of January. I don’t think they update the group too often.

NFA'd again. Well might as well try again next year.

Does anyone know of the interview dates offered In March or April or if any recent ii’s were sent out lately? I received an ‘under active consideration’ email in September, and I am really hoping to interview here. Thank you.

I was under consideration in late July, got my interview invite on 2/06.

All mondays, tuesdays, and wednesdays in march were available for me to pick

Does anyone know if anymore interview invitations are going out this month? Do they have any meetings scheduled this month?
I interviewed on Monday and dr Eubanks said there’s a meeting to discuss new people in late March (I think 3/27 but don’t quote me)
And then the next big advocacy meeting is May 3rd or something near it

They sent out an invitation to a Second Look Day on March 27!

I really wish there was a little more notice because I've already gotten my work schedule for March and have agreed to a work trip during that week. Super bummed I won't get to go 🙁

Does anyone know if they’ve already conducted interviews for their primary care scholarships/programs?

Interview invite just now! anyone have info on the format? Will look through this thread to see.

You'll have orientation with Dr. Eubanks, take a tour, have lunch with the students giving the tour, and then have a series of three interviews. Two will be with faculty, and one could be with a fourth year medical student. It's pretty relaxed, but wear comfy shoes.

II this afternoon, as well. Hope at the end of this tunnel, y'all!

Hey! do you mind either sharing here or dm-ing me the dates available? I am still trying to see if I could possibly get an interview! Good luck on yours!

The first available slot was on April 1st and then throughout the following two weeks on W/Th I believe

I know several schools have started cancelling second look, match days, and are also cancelling interviews. Hopefully if that's the case those of us who are scheduled for II we can do them virtually, but I know that for second looks, that vibe will be different remote.

As of the 16th we will be transitioning to remote learning. I have no idea what the entails for yall, but I would anticipate changes in someway. Stay healthy out there and wash your damn hands.

I called them yesterday before they announced that they were moving to remote learning on Monday. My interview is Monday and they stated on the phone that it is still going to be in person, but I'm not sure if that has changed since they are not moving to remote learning. I would love any info if anyone hears anything!

Would anyone here happen to know if LSU is still planning on extending interview invitations at this point, given the current covid19 situation? They typically interview through April, right?

Not sure if there is another round of invites or not, unfortunatley. A few of us received II this week with options to interview in April. Not sure how this will be impacted by the remote learning or coronavirus, but hopeful that if they extended the offer, we will at least get to Skype/Zoom in for our interviews.

Got an email this morning letting us know second look has been cancelled.

My interview Monday has been moved to a phone interview. Bummer but going to try to make the most of it. Best of luck to anyone else moving to phone interviews!

Has anyone who has been accepted activated there school email? and if so how did you do that?

Had my interviews today over the phone. Talked to an M4 and a professor and a retired professor. Didnt learn anything about the school, they only asked questions about me. The lady said that their committee meeting at the end of march was cancelled until further notice. She suspected that they'd meet to discuss everyone in May

😢 omg im so sorry. i was worried that it would come to this. i have a video interview coming up this week at another school and i'm apprehensive about the fact that they cut out all informative components of the experience as well [admission/fin aid discussions, tour, a day in the life of a current student]. all of these things could be done virtually, too, through prerecorded videos or via informal video conference call/webinar. i'm being left with basically just the interview portion, as well, and i'm worried because i won't learn much about the school otherwise.

i know for a fact that LSU's website, especially, seems pretty bare and basic. what i suggest [and what i may do myself at the other school] is to reach out to admissions and see if they can invite you to a second-look day, in case theyre hosting one virtually for their admitted students. or potentially set up a half-hour conference call with one of the deans and ask them a bunch of questions. it's our right to ask for more information about schools, this is a big step in our lives and we shouldn't feel like we're left in the dark because of these circumstances.
