So...on the portal how do I schedule the Interview...? It says “congratulations *shpeel about admissions Committee* please let us no if any of these days do not work for you” but there is no separate interview tab or dates linked...? Am I just not seeing it...? No links in the very brief “24 hours in blue” email? Anyone else run into this problem?

Make sure you can see all the images in the email. For me, the sign-up link was at the end via the "Click here to schedule your interview day" link, which appears as a big blue image.

Yah, I am at airport using hotpsot and the full images aren't appearing, I guess. Will hopefully be able to schedule on my home wifi!

Figured it out - chrome was calling the attachments potential security threats and blocking them. Thank you!

Sorry to keep bothering you....Now that I am trying to schedule my interview, I am clicking on the date but when I say "yes" there is a popup box that says "undefined". Any ideas?

It's an intelligence test. if you can't figure it out, they rescind the ii.
LOL JK Memes.... congrats dude!
Now when you click the link it just goes to a page saying the link is disabled.....GAH, WYD UMich?
Likely the system was misbehaving (my original issue) they noticed, and are working on the link. Will try after my flight...

Thanks!

I think there might be a problem with the link? I would call them this afternoon maybe, before they close the admissions afternoon for the long weekend.

Congrats for those with II today.
IS or OOS?
Also once scheduled, what are earliest dates they are offering?

Just interested why you are on this forum to calm your nerves when your daughter is the one applying?
Do you route for your local sports teams? Do you watch the game and look at stats? Figure out the chances they will win etc? Make comparisons etc?
Well, you are not playing in their game....

Also, I want to be informed, in case she asks my opinion during the process.

Understood. It just seems highly unusual for me that a parent of a med school applicant is navigating a medical school application forum. Your posts make it seem like you are the one actually applying and not your daughter.

Yes, I root for the teams. I don't venture into the locker room offering my opinion on strategy and questioning the coaches and players. 🙂

IDK if this helps or hurts anyone, but I have a view on my LinkedIn profile from a UMich account sometime in the last 3 days (since I last Checked on Wednesday). There is absolutely nothing on my profile, but it was viewed. Just a BTW sorta thing, letting y’all know.
Others have mentioned this, Must be UMich thing where they are checking on you (could be a reviewer or overall checker).

I’m just gonna assume since nobody from Michigan has viewed my LinkedIn profile, I haven’t been “reviewed” yet.

If you reread any of my posts now knowing, I think you would see that I haven’t posted as if I’m applying. I ask questions, I give data, Andy answers, but never pretend it is me applying. I think interpretation is reader bias thinking everyone is a student, recent student or faculty.

If it still really bothers anyone, feel free to Be Calm and Scroll On.

Think of me as the local channel reporter doing interviews and sharing info Andy stories. ;-)

@gonnif and @Goro and @LizzyM
An ITA was sent to a school prior to II and requested 1,2,4,7 of October working around another Oct 3 interview. The II was just received today and the closest open date is Oct 8 in their scheduling system. Oct 8,9 I am not available. Both T10 schools in NYC.

Can you please share your opinion on the following:
1. Do meds schools manually ‘squeeze’ in ITA students for dates unavailable in their online system?
2. If so, would it be inappropriate to essentially send another ITA email, or call to request intervention from the online scheduling?

Thanks.

Well you have referred to actions regarding applications in the first person (see your own post above). You can try to insist that you are just interested, but its pretty clear to anyone here, including the adcoms that lurk about, that you are micromanaging your daughter's process. That not "cheering for a team." Hope she doesn't suffer for it when an adcom where she is applying figures out who she is.

Not sure how you jump to a conclusion that I am in any way managing anything about her activities. I am more keeping score watching the game.

Damn. Where’s the helicopter icon when you need it!?
Hey, guys - can we please keep this helicopter parents stuff off of the schools specific forums? Let people get the information they need, fun and encouraging socialization is cool, but we don’t need debates over who should and should not be in the school specifics. Keep it friendly, keep it positive, keep it on the topic of the school, application, and city/area. I’m not a mod, but as the king of derailing threads, please?

It's all good, and you are not the only one, but I think of you as an overly concerned, overbearing parent vicariously living through your kid. It would be far healthier if you simply lurked without signing up for an account, and gently directed your kid to check out the site if you saw anything of interest. Are you going to be sitting next to me in class one day taping the lecture and taking notes because your kid is too busy or disinterested to be there?

You’re Not demonstrating your best self, but You do know what happens when you Assume?
Not overly concerned or overbearing, And definitely not vicariously living through my kid, been there done that. I’m just eager, excited and impatient, and like to anticipate expectations as best possible.
Like I said before, feel free to scroll past any of my posts.

Did @pBar get the interview?
Still sitting in silence from Mich, however I avoided their first wave of rejections it seems like they sent out to MSTP applicants last week. If that was a part of their review process, my tinfoil hat is telling me my application is probably just sitting in a stack of applications to compare to some other MSTP applicants before making a final decision or R or II. Just hypothesizing though.

I’m in the same boat with them and a few other MSTP programs that have offered rejection/II. I’m trying to think that no news is good news but it’s hard...

I would take no news as good news for those MSTPs that have already had ii and r waves. Means you're still worth considering if they've gotten to a preliminary review!
