I just had a very hard cry. this is very hard and if you are struggling right now, you should know that you aren’t the only one. solidarity.

ugh *hugs*

message me if you wanna rant to someone who understands, I’m finding most of my irl people have no concept of what I’m going through rn even though they’re trying their best

Hang in there! Many people have to try 2 or more times.
thanks for your encouragement—Im a 29 year old reapplicant who was waitlisted last year so I know it’s a long game. I thought this would be the cycle because I was so close in the last one... still could be, I guess—maybe we all just need to go to bed early and see what tomorrow brings. it’s not over yet

Waitlisted earlier today in 10-20 range (not going to say a specific number for the sake of staying anonymous). I will be withdrawing and committing elsewhere, partially because I've been put off by the admissions process. Best of luck to the rest of y'all and I hope this spot goes to someone else who wants it! Congratulations to all those who got accepted off the bat. Much love, thanks for the opportunity to post memes. Signing off.

Interviewed in September, on hold since October - just got in the top 15 for the waitlist and I literally thought I would never be this ecstatic about a waitlist position. Not to mention that I'm a fairly low stat and nontrad applicant who got rejected only a few weeks after my interview 2 years ago. I feel for everyone who just got the R - it one of the most defeating feelings ever and literally makes you question even pursuing a career in this field. Probably one of the best pieces of advice I heard from docs that I work with who had to apply multiple times is that you have to remember it's about working to become a doctor, not just becoming a doctor by a certain arbitrary date. You can get where you want to be - it just might take a little longer than you originally thought. Just wanted to provide a little inspiration and flicker of hope for those who need it right now.

My aunt’s boyfriend applied to med school 4 times + got into OHSU on the last shot, he’s an internist in PDX now. My mom’s friend from high school was a pharmacist and started at OHSU when he was 48 years old after his third cycle, he’s an anesthesiologist now. I know it’s not super helpful right now but I’m trying to remind myself that those of us who have been out of school for a bit have time. As much as it *redacted* sucks

I am guessing its by interview date because it seems like no one who interviewed past january has reported something (correct me if I am wrong)

I interviewed in November and some of the first people who got As had interview days after the new year. idk what the hell is going on, maybe they have a hat they’re drawing our names out of lol

This isn’t true I interviewed late January and my last name starts with an R. I got a waitlist position today. Make sure to scroll down to the bottom of your portal guys I didn’t see it at first!

1/10 hold crew going strong!! It was my best friend’s birthday, I was hoping it would be lucky lol
At least we have each other. Mine was interview in late October, hold on 01/30 and no update today. Congratulations to those who got in or are happy with where they are on the wait list.

anyone who has been rejected here, but will be enrolling elsewhere, thinking of filling out the feedback form? i'm lucky to have a place to go after the R today but am so sad i don't get to stay in my home town for med school. i just want to understand why

I think it would totally be worth doing, I say go for it! Even if you aren’t applying there again it doesn’t hurt to hear what you could have done better

I’m in the same boat. I think I’m going to try and get feedback. I need the closure. I felt good leaving the interview.

Where did you find the feedback form? I wasn't able to find it!

same. Texting the MD I work for now to warn her that I probs didn’t get in and may or may not end up crying at work today, but hopefully my PPE will hide it

AHH! I don't work today and I'm not sure if its a blessing or a curse. Catch me on the couch clicking refresh alllllll day. Best of luck everyone!!!!

There goes that theory then! Who knows. Mine clearly hasn't been updated and interviewed in Jan and am OOS for MD/MPH only. I know people on here need this waitlist/acceptance more than me so I am crossing my fingers for all of you!

Second cycle reapplicant to OHSU. Both times ranked on waitlist. 1st time ranked 140 range, this time ranked in 70 range.

I am pretty off put by the lack of love from my home State Medical school - and tbh do not feel OHSU is the place for me. Will be withdrawing my app so one of you who really wants it hopefully gets it! I am fortunate to have another MD program accept me directly last month.

Edit in case anyone is curious: interviewed November, on hold January.

like a big fat R is coming...but I'm trying to stay hopeful!
I keep telling myself this to keep my expectations lower. On the other hand, I went through last year’s thread, and it’s true that there were only Rs on 4/30, but it also looks like there were only wait lists spots and no rejections given on 4/29, so there’s already been significant deviation from last year.

Was this updated yesterday or this morning? My portal still hasn't been updated. I am expecting the R at this point but who knows.

exactly what I needed to hear! <3

Does anyone know how to get feedback on your application? I emailed the admin team but I'm sure they are overwhelmed at the moment so I wanted to see if there was a form to fill out somewhere. For anyone who didn't get in this year, we've got this next round!!

Catch me on my work laptop... still refreshing all day in between patient intake. I work in a private office where I'm one of 3 employees besides the MD and I'm the only MA, so there's not a lot of places for me to hide/distract myself either. We have a grand total of 5 patients coming in today woooo (sarcasm)

93 on alternate list. updated 4/30. interviewed september, put on hold october

Ugh congrats on getting alternate, here's to hoping that a ton of people withdraw!!

Also, here we go again. Ugh, last day everyone.

Alternate list as expected. Here is the message for fellow dual degree applicants waiting on a decision.

"You have been selected to the alternate list.

You will be receiving an official email (by the end of the day April 30) that will require a response (by May 8). If you have any questions regarding specifics related to the dual degree program, please include them in your response. "

The first cycle when I got waitlisted, I called and then we scheduled a time. I will say that the feedback was invaluable and helped me improve my app for this cycle. I am thankful for that.
