Wouldn’t it be kind of pointless to create an alternate list at this point since April 30th is almost here.Nope. There's only been the wave of acceptances mid-Feb. They'll probably start putting out ALs soon, unless they're really backed up they may not do AL's at all at first and start handing out more direct acceptances as people drop Downstate after the 15th, or after the 30th when people need to commit to one acceptance.
My bet is they'll either
- Hand out ALs sometime before the 30th, which a lot of people will move off of starting May 1st (most likely)
- Not hand out ALs at first, and start accepting people directly around May 1st, and then put people on the AL.

Has anyone accepted been able to pay the deposit? When I try to on the portal it just takes me back to the login page...
back of the line, bubAny idea when late interviewees will hear back? Interviewed 3/12 peer interview 3/22. This has been the most agonizing of all waiting periods.

No one has an idea when early interviews will hear back hahaha. April 30th is when people have to narrow their acceptances down to 1, so Downstate would have to start sending out a decent amount of acceptances/waitlists to fill up their class after that date. I'm not sure what the AAMC guidelines are, if any, on when people need to have a sort of decision after interviewing (whether accepted, rejected, or waitlisted), but I can't imagine anyone not knowing where they stand after May.
So yeah, I'd bet you will hear some sort of news between now and the end of May. Is this helpful? Probably not 😛
Could you clarify what you mean by "narrow their acceptances down to 1" by April 30th? I was looking at the timeline on the SUNY Downstate website and it seems to say that we only need to pay the deposit by April 30th. It isn't until July 13th that we need to settle down to 1 school.
Also, +1 to not being able to pay deposit.
+people from sept-march interviews lmaoAnyone interview Jan-Feb and still waiting to hear something?
I'm so sorry to hear.Post II R just now.
Interviewed 2/18.
Pretty sad, but good luck to everyone.

Do they send rejections and acceptances in the same day?
These rejections are making me shake while I blankly stare at my email...quarantine might be getting to me.We don't know, I believe these are the first post-II rejections.
question is are they sending these over time or did they send them all at once?
Everyone who posted about them seems to have gotten them within the last half hour or soquestion is are they sending these over time or did they send them all at once?
January 16th interview, still waiting too;/Anyone interview Jan-Feb and still waiting to hear something?
Oof. Yup these are scary times, and uncertainty about our futures doesn't help. Hoping for the best for everyone here!*refreshes communication status portal over and over again* the people in my zoom work meeting must think I'm hard at work typing notes.
Fingers crossed we potentially hear some AL/acceptances today. I've been trapped inside for a month (I'm sure like many of you) and I need some degree of change in my life before I crack completely haha.
sorry 🙁 I also interviewed in December. did you get the email now, or at around 2:10 pm? just trying to see if the r wave is over...Post interview R received today,
Interviews In December
Good luck guys
I know it might be tough, especially right now, but for the people who received R's, any inclination as to why you think you got a R?
This is literally the only school that has shown me love and I'm relying on it. 🙁
I also got the R today and I can only imagine its due to my grades and MCAT (they're both on the lower side)
My interview was was better than I could have hoped, both the in person and peer. So it must be the academic metrics! I can only assume.
Me too bud.I hope you get in somewhere though. Thanks for the insight. My grades are average, which is what scares me.
I got it at 2:09 pmsorry 🙁 I also interviewed in December. did you get the email now, or at around 2:10 pm? just trying to see if the r wave is over...
Hey, I feel you. Downstate was the only school that showed me love as well, I got 3 pre-interview holds. I didn't get to interview at those schools. I don't know if its due to covid19 or just bad luck. My interview was great. I am OOS though with no ties to NYS. From what I can tell, the interview does not hold so much weight. My rejection will be from my stats.I know it might be tough, especially right now, but for the people who received R's, any inclination as to why you think you got an R?
