I know I vented out here and there quite a bit on this thread as this process keeps on dragging. However, I wanted to really thank your positive vibe, energy, and encouragement. It really, for at least few hours, gives me hope and energy to wait a little longer haha. Also all the encouragements from people on this thread is really what keeps me sane during this crisis. Right as I type this, I got an email about bioethics in Columbia LOL

I feel this so much. I'm in the same situation, have been on two WLs since early March and interviewed at Downstate early Feb with no communication from any schools since. I'm super conflicted whether to start the reapplication process (I'd have to retake the MCAT for some schools if I were to wait a year to reapply and beef-up my application weaknesses, which is a whole other battle) or still hold out hope for the three schools I have now. Every day is a constant tug-of-war over what I should do. I'm currently optimistic for all of us (probably for another 10 mins before something else induces a panic). Hoping for the best for all of us.
 
Just received an email stating I was accepted to the school of public health of downstate but I didn’t even apply for an mph. Anyone else in the same situation?

I'd definitely email them back haha. Check the "Choose Your Medical School" tool in AMCAS though and see if you were potentially accepted into the MD program and just got this mistake email.

Am in the exact same situation! Not sure what'd going on

Edit: I just checked my portal and there is the option to decline your offer of acceptance into the MPH program (lol). Went ahead and declined it. Strange because I withdrew my app awhile back now!

I don’t know what to think of this. Hope they meant to send me an md acceptance and sent the wrong email or something

I wish you the best! If you haven't though, definitely check the "Choose Your Medical School" tool. I know people have seen their school appear there before receiving an official acceptance letter in the past, which if it was the case where you were supposed to be accepted to the MD program but for whatever reason got the MPH letter it should be listed there. If it's not listed there then, unfortunately, it was probably just a fluke all together and independent from the MD admissions. Either way, definitely doesn't hurt to email med admissions - and check your portal too!

So was that it then? What if by chance us SDNers weren’t part of the A wave/sprinkle? Hence only one person from us heard

I do think unfortunately most were at the same time, I assume through an automated system. I wouldn't say there's a zero chance of more coming out today, but I do think it may be a "wait until tomorrow" now sort of situation haha.

The midnight was EST and 9pm was PST
 
Has anyone who interviewed in March heard back yet? I feel like acceptances have gone up to mid-end Feb

Yeah I'm not with this shadow/phantom waitlist stuff. At least let me know im waitlisted. Didn't they send out explicit waitlist emails though?

tbh I haven't personally seen anyone say they are waitlisted but i could be wrong

Just do rolling wait lists. They’ve done that in previous cycles. People were told they were in the AL in multiple rounds
